तत्सूक्ष्मवस्त्रसाराणां वरैराच्छादितं परम्
Covered completely with the finest and most exquisite fabrics,
श्वेतचामरकोटीभिर्वज्रकोटिभिरन्वितम्
Accompanied by millions of white yak-tail fans and countless diamonds,
पारिजातप्रसूनानां कोटितल्पविराजितम्
Radiant with millions of beds made from pārijāta blossoms,
रत्नशय्याकोटिभिश्च चित्रवज्रपरिच्छदैः
And with millions of gem-studded beds, adorned with varied diamond coverings.
पुष्पोपधानसंयुक्तैः शृंगारार्हाभिरन्वितम्
Adorned with flower-strewn seats and objects worthy of love's delight.
एवंभूताद्रथात्तूर्णमवरुह्य हरिप्रिया
In this manner, the beloved of Hari swiftly descended from the chariot.
द्वारे नियुक्तं ददृशे द्वारपालं मनोहरम् 4.2.
At the doorway, she saw a charming gatekeeper stationed there.
गोपं श्रीदामनामानं श्रीकृष्णप्रियकिंकरम्
He was a cowherd named Śrīdāma, a devoted servant dear to Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
गच्छ दूरं गच्छ दूरं रतिलंपटकिंकर
Go away, go far away, you attendant eager for amorous play!
राधिकावचनं श्रुत्वा निःशंकः पुरतः स्थितः
Hearing Rādhikā's words, he stood there before her, untroubled.
तूर्णं च राधिकाल्यश्च श्रीदामानं सकिंकरम्
Then Rādhikā and her companions quickly approached Śrīdāma, the attendant.
श्रुत्वा कोलाहलं शब्दं गोपिकानां हरिः स्वयम्
Hearing the commotion and voices of the gopīs, Hari himself—
विरजा राधिकाशब्दादंतर्धानं हरेरपि
At the sound of Rādhikā's name, Virajā vanished, and even Hari disappeared.
सद्यस्तत्र सरिद्रूपं तच्छरीरं बभूव ह
Immediately there, that body took the form of a river.
कोटियोजनविस्तीर्णं प्रस्थेऽतिनिम्नमेव च
It stretched for millions of yojanas in breadth and was exceedingly deep in its course.
विरजां च सरिदूपां दृष्ट्वा गेहं जगाम सा
Seeing Virajā in the form of a river, she returned home.
श्रीकृष्णो विरजां दृष्ट्वा सरिद्रूपां प्रियां सतीम्
Śrī Kṛṣṇa, seeing Virajā as a river, his beloved and virtuous one—
ममांतिकं समागच्छ प्रेयसीनां परे वरे
Come to me, O best among beloveds!
नद्यधिष्ठात्रि देवि त्वं भव मूर्तिमती सती
O goddess, presiding over the river, become embodied and virtuous.
पूर्वरूपाच्च सौभाग्यादिदानीं सुभगा भव
From your previous form and fortune, now become supremely blessed.
जलादुत्थाय चागच्छ विधाय तनुमुत्तमाम्
Rise up from the water and come, assuming an excellent body.
कृष्णाज्ञया च विरजा विधाय तनुमुत्तमाम्
By Kṛṣṇa's command, Virajā assumed an excellent body.
पीतवस्त्रपरीधाना स्मेराननसरोरुहा
Clad in yellow garments, her lotus-like face adorned with a gentle smile.
नितंबश्रोणिभारार्ता पीनोन्नतपयोधरा
Her hips and thighs bore the weight of her form, her breasts full and high.
सुंदरी सुदरीणां च धन्या मान्या च योषिताम् 4.3.
She was the most beautiful among beautiful women, blessed and honored among ladies.
पक्व दाडिमबीजाभदंतपंक्तिमनोहरा
Her enchanting rows of teeth resembled ripe pomegranate seeds.
कस्तूरीबिंदुना सार्धं सिंदूरबिंदुभूषिता
Adorned with spots of musk and decorated with dots of vermilion.
रत्नकुंडलगंडस्था भूषिता रत्नमालया
Her cheeks were graced with jeweled earrings, and she was adorned with a necklace of gems.
रत्नकंकणकेयूरचारुशंखकरोज्ज्वला
Her hands shone with beautiful conch-shaped bracelets, bangles, and armlets of gems.
तां च रूपवतीं दृष्ट्वा प्रेमोद्रेका जगत्पतिः
Seeing her, so endowed with beauty, the Lord of the world was filled with a surge of joy.
