त्रिसन्ध्यं यः पठेन्नित्यं स सुखी सर्वतो जयी
Whoever recites this daily at the three junctions of the day becomes happy and victorious in all respects.
गणेश्वरप्रसादेन महाज्ञानी भवेद्ध्रुवम्
By the grace of the Lord of Gaṇas, one certainly becomes greatly wise.
महाजडः कवीन्द्रश्च विद्यावांश्च भवेद्ध्रुवम्
Even a great dullard surely becomes a foremost poet and learned.
नारायण उवाच हितं सारं नीतिसारं परिणामसुखावहम्
Nārāyaṇa said: This is beneficial, the essence, the core of ethics, bringing happiness in the end.
विष्णुरुवाच कोपात्कृत्वा दन्तभङ्गं गणेशस्य स्थितोऽशिवे
Viṣṇu said: Out of anger, having broken Gaṇeśa's tusk, I remained inauspicious.
स्तोत्रेणैव मयोक्तेन स्तुत्वा गणपतिं परम्
By praising the supreme Gaṇapati with the hymn I myself composed,
श्रीकृष्णस्य परा शक्तिर्बुद्धिरूपा जगत्प्रभोः
The supreme power of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, in the form of intelligence, is the Lord of the world's energy.
सर्वशक्तिस्वरूपेयमनया शक्तिमज्जगत्
She is the embodiment of all powers; by her, the world is filled with energy.
सृष्टिं कर्तुं न शक्तश्च ब्रह्मा शक्त्याऽनया विना
Brahmā is unable to create without this power.
सुरसंघेऽसुरग्रस्ते काले घोरतरे द्विज
O twice-born, when the host of gods was overpowered by demons in a most terrible time,
कृष्णाज्ञयाऽसुरान्हत्वा दत्त्वा तेभ्यः पदं ततः
By Krishna's command, having slain the demons, he then granted them liberation.
भार्य्या भूत्वा शंकरस्य पुनः पत्युश्च निन्दया
Becoming the wife of Shankara, again, through reproach of her husband—
शंकरस्तपसा लब्धो योगीन्द्राणां गुरोर्गुरुः 3.45.
Shankara was attained through austerity, the guru of the lords of yogis, the teacher of teachers.
यं ध्यायस्येव नित्यं किं तं न जानासि बालक
That one whom you constantly meditate upon—do you not know him, O child?
कृताञ्जलिर्नतो भूत्वा स्तुहि दुर्गां शिवप्रियाम्
With joined palms, bowing down, praise Durga, beloved of Shiva.
शिवायाः स्तोत्रराजेन पुरा शूलिकृतेन वै
By the king of hymns to Shiva, formerly composed by Shulika—
इत्युक्त्वा श्रीपदं शीघ्रं जगाम श्रीनिकेतनम्
Having spoken thus, he quickly went to the auspicious abode.
स्तोत्रेण विष्णुदत्तेन सर्वविघ्नहरेण च
With the hymn composed by Vishnudatta, which removes all obstacles—
कृताञ्जलिपुटो भूत्वा स्नात्वा गङ्गोदके शुभे
With palms joined in reverence, having bathed in the auspicious waters of the Ganga—
आचम्य नत्वा मूर्ध्ना तां भक्तिनम्रात्मकन्धरः
Having sipped water, bowed his head, his neck bent in devotion—
परशुराम उवाच आविर्भूता विग्रहतः पुरा सृष्ट्युन्मुखस्य च
Parashurama said: Formerly, she appeared from the form, when creation was about to begin.
सूर्य्यकोटिप्रभायुक्ता वस्त्रालङ्कारभूषिता
Endowed with the radiance of ten million suns, adorned with garments and ornaments—
नवयौवनसम्पन्ना सिन्दूरारुण्यशोभिता 3.45.
Full of fresh youth, splendid with vermilion-red brilliance.
अहोऽनिर्वचनीया त्वं चारुमूर्त्तिं च बिभ्रती
Ah! You are indescribable, bearing a most beautiful form.
मुमोह क्षणमात्रेण दृष्ट्वा त्वां सर्वमोहिनीम्
In a single moment, seeing you, the deluder of all, he became bewildered.
सद्भिः ख्याता तेन राधा मूलप्रकृतिरीश्वरी
Therefore, she is renowned among the virtuous as Radha, the primal nature, the sovereign.
ततो डिम्भं महज्जज्ञे ततो जातो महाविराट्
Then from the great egg was born, and from that arose the great Virat.
राधारतिक्रमेणैव तन्निश्वासो बभूव ह
By the movement of Radha's delight, her exhalation indeed became that.
भयघर्म्मजलेनैव पुप्लुवे विश्वगोलकम्
By the sweat of fear, the cosmic sphere was flooded.
ततस्त्वं पञ्चधाभूय पञ्च मूर्तीश्च बिभ्रती कृष्णप्राणाधिकां राधां तां वदन्ति पुराविदः
Then you, becoming fivefold and bearing five forms, are called by the ancient knowers as Rādhā, dearer to Kṛṣṇa than life.
