सुखं जयति सर्वत्र विद्यया गुरुदत्तया
Happiness prevails everywhere through the knowledge given by the guru.
विद्यान्धो वा धनान्धो वा यो मूढो न यजेद्गुरुम्
Whether blind in knowledge or blind in wealth, the fool does not worship the guru.
दरिद्रं पतितं क्षुद्रं नरबुद्या भजेद्गुरुम्
One should serve the guru with human intelligence, even if he is poor, fallen, or lowly.
अभीष्टदेवः श्रीकृष्णो गुरुस्ते शङ्करः स्वयम्
The desired deity is Śrī Kṛṣṇa; your guru is Śaṅkara himself.
त्रिस्सप्तकृत्वो निर्भूपा त्वया पृथ्वी कृता यतः
Because you have made the earth devoid of kings twenty-one times.
शिवां च शिवरूपं च शिवदं शिवकारणम्
Auspiciousness, the form of auspiciousness, the giver of auspiciousness, and the cause of auspiciousness.
गोलोकनाथो भगवानंशेन शिवरूपधृक्
The Lord of Goloka, Bhagavān, by a portion, assumes the form of Śiva.
आत्मा कृष्णः शिवो ज्ञानं मनोऽहं सर्वजीविषु 3.40.
Kṛṣṇa is the self, Śiva is knowledge, and I am the mind in all beings.
ज्ञानदं ज्ञानरूपं च ज्ञानबीजं सनातनम्
The giver of knowledge, the very form of knowledge, the eternal seed of knowledge.
ब्रह्मज्योतिस्स्वरूपं तं भक्तानुग्रहविग्रहम्
That one whose nature is the radiance of Brahman, who has assumed a form out of compassion for devotees.
प्रकृतिर्लक्षवर्षं च तपस्तप्त्वा यमीश्वरम्
Prakriti performed austerities for a hundred thousand years, worshipping that Lord.
इत्युक्त्वा मुनिभिः सार्द्धं जगाम कमलोद्भवः
Having spoken thus, along with the sages, the lotus-born one departed.
नारायण उवाच रामो जगाम कैलासं नमस्कर्तुं शिवं गुरुम् गुरुपत्नीं शिवामम्बां द्रष्टुं गुरुसुतौ च तौ
Nārāyaṇa said: Rāma went to Kailāsa to pay respects to Śiva, his guru, to see the guru’s wife Śivā Ambā, and their two sons.
मनोयायी महात्मा स भृगुस्संप्राप्य तत्क्षणम्
That great soul, Bhṛgu, traveling by mind, arrived there instantly.
शुद्धस्फटिकसङ्काशैर्मणिभिः सुमनोहरैः
With jewels shining like pure crystal, most enchanting to behold.
सिन्दूरारुणवर्णैश्च वेष्टितं मणिवेदिभिः
Adorned with gem-studded platforms wrapped in vermilion-red hues.
यक्षाणामालयैर्दिव्यैः संयुक्तं शतकोटिभिः
Joined by a hundred crore celestial yakṣa abodes, all divine.
सुवर्णकलशैर्दिव्यै राजतैः श्वेतचामरैः
With golden vessels, divine, and silver white fly-whisks.
रत्नभूषणभूषाढ्यैर्दीपितैः सुन्दरीगणैः
Radiant with groups of beautiful women adorned with jeweled ornaments.
क्रीडद्भिः सस्मितैः शश्वत्स्वच्छन्दं च विराजितैः
Graced by those ever-sportive, ever-smiling, freely moving about.
आकीर्णं पुष्पजालैश्च पुष्पितैश्च सुगन्धिभिः 3.41.
Filled with garlands of flowers and blooming, fragrant blossoms.
सिद्धविद्यासु निपुणैः पुण्यवद्भिर्निषेवितम्
Attended by the virtuous, skilled in accomplished knowledge.
शतयोजनविस्तीर्णैः शतस्कन्धसमन्वितैः
Expansive for a hundred yojanas, with a hundred clusters together.
नानापक्षिगणाकीर्णैः सुमनोहरशब्दितैः
Teeming with flocks of various birds, producing most delightful sounds.
पुष्पोद्यानसहस्रेण सरसां च शतेन च
With a thousand flower gardens and a hundred lakes.
रामश्च दृष्ट्वा नगरमतिसंहृष्टमानसः
And Rāma, seeing the city, became exceedingly delighted in mind.
सुवर्णमूल्यशतकैर्मणिभिः स्वर्णवर्णकैः
With jewels worth hundreds of gold coins, shining with the color of gold,
त्रिपञ्चयोजनोच्छ्रायं चतुर्योजनविस्तृतम्
Rising to a height of fifteen yojanas and spreading four yojanas wide,
द्वारं रत्नकपाटेन नाना चित्रान्वितेन च
A door with a jeweled panel, adorned with various designs,
तद्दक्षिणे वृषेन्द्रं च वामे सिंहं च नारद
On its right, O Nārada, was a great bull; on its left, a lion.
