मनोरमे समुत्तिष्ठ मलयं व्रज सुन्दरि
'O lovely one, arise! Go to Malaya, O beautiful one.'
शीतेन गन्धयुक्तेन वायुना सुरभीकृते
With the cool, fragrant wind, made delightful by its scent.
चन्दनागुरुकस्तूरीकुंकुमालेपनं कुरु
Apply sandalwood, agarwood, musk, and saffron as unguents.
सुधातुल्यं सुमधुरं वचनं रचय प्रिये
Compose words that are as sweet as nectar, O beloved.
नृपस्य रोदनं श्रुत्वा वाग्बभूवाशरीरिणी
Hearing the king's weeping, speech became bodiless.
त्वं महाज्ञानिनां श्रेष्ठो दत्तात्रेयप्रसादतः
You are the foremost among the great knowers, by the grace of Dattatreya.
कमलांशा च सा साध्वी जगाम कमलालयम्

इत्येव वचनं श्रुत्वा जहौ शोकं नराधिपः

मुक्तकेशीं छिन्ननासां रुदतीं च दिगम्बराम्

मुखदुष्टां योनिदुष्टां व्याधियुक्तां च कुट्टिनीम्
A prostitute with a defiled mouth, defiled womb, and afflicted by disease.
कुम्भकारं तैलकारं व्याधं सर्पोपजीविनम्
A potter, an oil-maker, a hunter, and one who lives by snakes.
वसाविक्रयिणं चैव कन्याविक्रयिणं तथा
One who sells fat and one who sells girls as well.
सर्पक्षतं नरं सर्पं गोधां च शशकं विषम् 3.35.
A man bitten by a snake, a snake, a monitor lizard, and a poisonous hare.
देवलं वृषवाहं च शूद्रश्राद्धान्नभोजिनम् ।। शूद्रान्नपाचकं शूद्रयाजकं ग्रामयाजकम्ा
A mendicant, a bullock-cart driver, one who eats food from a Shudra's funeral, one who cooks Shudra food, one who officiates Shudra rites, and a village priest.
कुशपुत्तलिकां चैव शवदाहनकारिणम्
And a doll made of kusa grass, as well as one who performs cremation rites.
कार्पासं कच्छपं चूर्णं कुक्कुरं शब्दकारिणम्
Cotton, a tortoise, powder, a dog, and one who makes loud noises.
कपर्दकं च क्षौरं च च्छिन्नकेशं नखं मलम्
A cowrie shell, shaving, one with cut hair, nails, and filth.
अमङ्गलं रुदन्तं च रुदन्तं शोककारिणम्
Inauspiciousness, one who weeps, and one who causes grief by weeping.
मिथ्यासाक्ष्य प्रदातारं चौरं च नरघातिनम्
One who gives false testimony, a thief, and a murderer of men.
देवतागुरुविप्राणां वस्तुवित्तापहारिणम्
One who steals the property or wealth of deities, teachers, or Brahmins.
पितृमातृविरक्तं च द्विजाश्वत्थविघातिनम्
One who is estranged from father and mother, and one who harms Brahmins or the sacred fig tree.
विप्रमित्रद्रोहमेवं क्षतं विश्वासघातकम्
One who betrays a Brahmin friend, wounds, and breaks trust.
जीवानां घातकं चैव स्वांगहीनं च निर्दयम् 3.35.
One who kills living beings, who is crippled, and who is merciless.
गलितव्याधिगात्रं च काणं बधिरमेव च
One whose body is afflicted by disease, one who is one-eyed, and one who is deaf.
