Placing his head towards the east and both feet towards the west,
The king of the Gandharvas, seeing him at that moment with his wife,

In the vicinity of the sandalwood mountain, within the beautiful sandalwood forest,
In a delightful spot on Mount Gandhamādana, on the riverbank,
On the sacred mountain, in the divine forest, attended by Śrīnivāsa,
Long ago, whatever playful acts you performed with me in secret during spring—
Once, you drenched me with words as sweet as nectar,
Association with the virtuous is more difficult to obtain than even Vaikuṇṭha.

By action, he is a Gandharva and my beloved; by action, I am his beloved.
O Lord, who is truly the husband of whom, who is the son of whom, or who is dear to whom? The Creator unites and separates beings according to their deeds.
In union there is supreme joy; in separation, the distress of life itself.

Therefore, the wise renounce by themselves even the highest desired prosperity.
