इन्द्रियद्रव्यसंयोगसुखं विध्वंसनावधि
The pleasure arising from the contact of senses with objects lasts only until its destruction,
हरिस्मरणशीलानां नायुर्याति सतां सती
For those devoted to remembering Hari, O noble lady, their lifespan does not diminish,
चिरं जीवन्ति ते भक्ता भारते चिरजीविनः
Those devotees live long; in Bhārata, they are the long-lived ones,
जातिस्मरा हरेर्भक्ता जानते कोटिजन्मनः
The devotees of Hari who remember their past births know the deeds of millions of lives,
परं पुनन्ति ते पूतास्तीर्थानि स्वीयलीलया
Those pure ones sanctify even the sacred places by their own play,
वैष्णवानां पदस्पर्शात्सद्यः पूता वसुन्धरा
By the touch of the feet of Vaiṣṇavas, the earth is instantly purified
गुरोरास्याद्विष्णुमन्त्रः श्रुतौ यस्य प्रविश्यति
The Viṣṇu-mantra, when received from the mouth of the guru, enters the ear of the disciple.
पुरुषाणां शतं पूर्वमुद्धरन्ति शतं परम्
He uplifts a hundred ancestors before him and a hundred descendants after him.
मातामहानां पुरुषान्दश पूर्वान्दशापरान्
He delivers ten ancestors on the mother's side, ten before and ten after.
भक्तदर्शनमाश्लेषं मानवाः प्राप्नुवन्ति ये
Those who obtain the sight or embrace of a devotee attain the same.
न लिप्ताः पातकैर्भक्ताः सन्ततं हरिमानसाः
Devotees whose minds are always on Hari are not tainted by sins.
त्रिकोटिजन्मनामन्ते प्राप्नोति जन्म मानवम्
At the end of thirty million births, one attains a human birth.
भक्तसङ्गाद्भवेद्भक्तेरङ्कुरो जीवितः सती
From association with devotees, the sprout of devotion, which is life itself, arises.
पुनः प्रफुल्लतां याति वैष्णवालापमात्रतः ७७ तत्तरोवर्द्धमानस्य हरिदास्यं फलं सति
Again, it blossoms merely from conversation with Vaiṣṇavas; as that root grows, the fruit is service to Hari.
महति प्रलये नाशो न भवेत्तस्य निश्चितम्
Even in a great dissolution, destruction does not befall him—this is certain.
तस्मान्नारायणे भक्तिं देहि मामम्बिके सदा
Therefore, O Ambikā, always grant me devotion to Nārāyaṇa.
तद्वन्तं लोकशिक्षार्थं स्वतपस्तव पूजनम्
For the sake of instructing the world, your austerity and worship were performed.
गणेशरूपः श्रीकृष्णः कल्पे कल्पे तवात्मजः
In every age, your son is Śrī Kṛṣṇa in the form of Gaṇeśa.
कृत्वाऽन्तर्धानमीशश्च बालरूपं विधाय सः
Having become invisible, the Lord assumed the form of a child.
तल्पस्थे शिववीर्य्ये च मिश्रितः स बभूव ह
He, mixed with the energy of Śiva, was present upon the altar.
शुद्धचम्पकवर्णाभः कोटिचन्द्रसमप्रभः
He had the appearance of pure campaka flowers, and shone like ten million moons.
अतीव सुन्दरतनुः कामदेवविमोहनः
His form was exceedingly beautiful, enchanting even the god of love.
सुन्दरे लोचने बिभ्रच्चारुपद्मविनिन्दके
He possessed lovely eyes, surpassing even the most charming lotus.
कपालं च कपोलं च परमं सुमनोहरम्
His forehead and cheeks were supremely delightful.
त्रैलोक्ये वै निरुपमं सर्वांगं बिभ्रदुत्तमम्
In the three worlds, he bore an incomparable, perfect form, excelling in every aspect.
नारायण उवाच ब्राह्मणान्वेषणं कृत्वा बभ्राम परितो मुने
Nārāyaṇa said: Having searched for the brāhmaṇas, he wandered everywhere, O sage.
पार्वत्युवाच हे तात दर्शनं देहि प्राणान्वै रक्ष मे विभो
Pārvatī said: O father, grant me your vision; O Lord, protect my very life.
शिव शीघ्रं समुत्तिष्ठ ब्राह्मणान्वेषणं कुरु
Śiva, rise quickly and seek out the brāhmaṇas.
अगृहीत्वा गृहात्पूजां गृहिणोऽतिथिरीश्वर
If a householder does not offer worship at home, the guest, who is the Lord, is not received.
पितरस्तन्न गृह्णन्ति पिण्डदानं च तर्पणम्
The ancestors do not accept offerings of rice-balls or libations from such a person.
