These deities are eternally present, always devoted to creation.

Nārāyaṇa spoke: With affection, he addressed Pārvatī, blessing the conversation with Hari.
Having received Śiva's command, Śivā, with a delighted mind,
Bathed, beautiful, pure, and wearing freshly washed garments,
Adorned with mango leaves and splendid with fruits and unbroken rice,
Seated on a jeweled seat, rich in jewels, Satī, daughter born of jewels,
Having worshipped the chief priest seated upon a jeweled throne,

With garments purified by fire and adorned with proper jewels, the goddess began the vow, preceded by auspicious recitations.
She invoked her desired deity, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, into the auspicious vessel.
Whatever is to be performed and given in the vow, in its various forms,
And the offerings prescribed by the vow, rare in all three worlds,
Satī, having given all the materials with Vedic mantras, fed the brāhmaṇas after honoring the guests as well.
That devoted and virtuous lady served food to the virtuous ones, O you of good vows.

On the day of completion, the priest spoke to the Brahmin.
Hearing those words, she lamented in the assembly of the gods.
Seeing her fallen unconscious, the foremost sages laughed.
Then, urged by those present in the assembly, he was requested to revive Śivā.
Śrī Mahādeva said: Now, regaining consciousness, listen to my words.
Having addressed Śivā thus, Śiva, with a parched throat, lips, and palate—
Everything beneficial, true, and measured brings happiness in the end.
Listen, O goddess, I will tell you what has been established by the Veda.
O goddess, the essence of all actions is the offering (dakṣiṇā).
Whether divine, ancestral, daily, or occasional, dearest, the giver, by that act, surely attains the thread of time.
In the end, he falls into misery, afflicted by his enemy.
If that moment passes, the offering must be doubled.
After a month, it should be five hundred times; after six months, four times that.
