प्राप्नोति शैवं मन्त्रं च सर्वदं मानवो मुदा
A man joyfully attains the Shaiva mantra, which grants all things.
प्राप्नोति मायामन्त्रं च त्वत्पदाब्जप्रसादतः
He attains the mantra of Maya by the grace of your lotus feet.
नारायणकलां सेव्यां समवाप्नोति मानवः
A man attains the worshipful portion of Narayana.
कृष्णभक्तिमवाप्नोति भक्तसंसर्गहैतुकीम्
He attains devotion to Krishna, which arises from association with devotees.
प्राप्नोति परिपक्वां च भक्तिं भक्तनिषेवया श्रीकृष्णमन्त्रं प्राप्नोति निर्वाणफलदं परम्
He attains mature devotion by serving devotees, and attains the supreme Krishna-mantra, which bestows liberation.
कृष्णव्रतं कृष्णमन्त्रं सर्वकामफलप्रदम्
The Krishna vow and Krishna mantra grant the fruits of all desires.
महति प्रलये पातः सर्वेषां वै सुनिश्चितम्
At the great dissolution, the fall of all is certain.
अविनाशिनि गोलोके मोदन्ते कृष्णकिंकराः
In imperishable Goloka, Krishna's attendants rejoice.
त्वं संहर्त्ता च सर्वेषां न भक्तानां महेश्वर
You are the destroyer of all, O Maheshvara, but not of devotees.
माया नारायणी माता सर्वेषां कृष्णभक्तिदा
Maya is Narayani, the mother of all, the giver of Krishna-bhakti.
सा च नारायणी माया मूलप्रकृतिरीश्वरी
And that very Māyā of Nārāyaṇa is the primal nature, the sovereign Lady.
सा च तेजस्स्वरूपा च स्वेच्छाविग्रहधारिणी
She is of the essence of radiance, assuming a form by her own will.
निहत्य दैत्यसंघांश्च दक्षपत्न्यां च भारते
Having destroyed the hosts of demons and, in Bhārata, Dakṣa’s wife,
त्यक्त्वा देहं पितुर्यज्ञे सा सती तव निन्दया
She abandoned her body at her father’s sacrifice, O Satī, due to your reproach.
गृहीत्वा विग्रहं तस्या गुणरूपाश्रय परम्
Taking on that form, she became the supreme abode of qualities.
प्रबोधितो मया त्वं च श्रीशैलेषु सरित्तटे
By me you were awakened on the riverbank at Śrīśaila.
करोतु पुण्यकं साध्वी सुव्रता सुव्रतं शिवा
Let that virtuous, steadfast, and auspicious lady perform the Puṇyaka vow.
राजसूयसहस्राणां व्रते यत्र धनव्ययः
In which the expenditure of wealth equals that of a thousand Rājasūya sacrifices.
स्वयं भूतेशनाथस्त्वं पुण्यकस्य प्रभावतः
By the power of the Puṇyaka vow, you yourself became the Lord of beings.
स्वयं देवगणानां स यस्मादीशः कृपानिधिः
He himself, the Lord, the treasure of compassion, is the ruler of the hosts of gods.
यस्य स्मरणमात्रेण विघ्ननाशो भवेद्ध्रुवम्
By merely remembering him, obstacles are certainly destroyed.
नानाविधानि द्रव्याणि यस्माद्देयानि पुण्यके
Because of him, various kinds of offerings are to be given in the Puṇyaka vow.
शनिदृष्ट्या शिरश्छेदाद्गजवक्त्रेण योजितः
When his head was severed by the gaze of Śani, he was joined with an elephant’s head.
दन्तभङ्गः परशुना पर्शुरामस्य वै यतः
It was by Paraśurāma’s axe that his tusk was broken.
पूज्यश्च सर्वदेवानामस्माकं जगतां विभुः
He is worshipped by all the gods, the Lord of the worlds for us.
पूजासु सर्वदेवानामग्रे संपूज्य तं जनः
In all acts of worship of the gods, people should first honor him.
गणेशपूजने विघ्नं निर्मूलं जगतां भवेत्
By the worship of Gaṇeśa, obstacles in the worlds are uprooted.
मोक्षश्च पापनाशश्च यशश्चैश्वर्यमुत्तमम्
Liberation, destruction of sin, fame, and the highest prosperity (are attained).
स्वबुद्धिशुद्धिजननं कीर्त्तितं वह्निपूजनम्
The worship of fire has been described as generating purity of one's own intellect.
दाता भोक्ता च भवति शंकराग्निनिषेवणात्
Through the service of Śaṅkara and Agni, one becomes both a giver and a recipient.
