तेजःस्वरूपं सुमहद्रत्नभूमिमयं परम्
Its form is brilliance, exceedingly great, composed of precious gems, and supreme.
योगेन धृतमीशेन चान्तरिक्षस्थितं वरम्
Sustained by the Lord through yoga, it is excellent and situated in the sky.
सद्रत्नरचितासंख्यमन्दिरैः परिशोभितम्
Adorned with countless palaces fashioned from true jewels.
तदधो दक्षिणे सव्ये पञ्चाशत्कोटियोजनान् 1.2.
Below that, to the south and to the left, extending fifty crore yojanas.
कोटियोजनविस्तीर्णं वैकुण्ठं मण्डलाकृति
Vaikuntha, circular in form, spans a crore yojanas in breadth.
चतुर्भुजैः पार्षदैश्च जरामृत्य्वादिवर्जितम्
Attended by four-armed companions, free from old age, death, and the like.
लये शून्यं च सृष्टौ च सपार्षदशिवान्वितम्
In dissolution, it is void; in creation, it is endowed with Shiva and his attendants.
परमाह्लादकं शश्वत्परमानन्दकारकम्
Supremely delightful, it is the eternal source of the highest bliss.
तदेवानन्दजनकं निराकारं परात्परम्
That alone generates bliss, formless, transcending even the supreme.
नवीननीरदश्यामं रक्तपङ्कजलोचनम्
Of fresh raincloud hue, with eyes like red lotuses.
कोटिकन्दर्पलावण्यं लीलाधाम मनोरमम्
With beauty surpassing a crore of Cupids, the abode of divine play, enchanting.
सद्रत्नभूषणौघेन भूषितं भक्तवत्सलम्
Adorned with a multitude of true jewel ornaments, loving toward devotees.
श्रीवत्सवक्षःसंभ्राजत्कौस्तुभेन विराजितम्
His chest shines with the mark of Śrīvatsa and is radiant with the Kaustubha gem.
रत्नसिंहासनस्थं च वनमालाविभूषितम् 1.2.
Seated upon a jeweled throne, adorned with a garland of forest flowers.
स्वेच्छामयं सर्वबीजं सर्वाधारं परात्परम्
Formed by his own will, the seed of all, the support of all, transcending the supreme.
कोटिपूर्णेन्दुशोभाढ्यं भक्तानुग्रहकारकम्
Endowed with the radiance of a crore full moons, bestowing grace upon devotees.
रासमण्डलमध्यस्थं शान्तं रासेश्वरं वरम्
Situated at the center of the circle of the rāsa dance, peaceful, the supreme Lord of the rāsa.
परमानन्दबीजं च सत्यमक्षरमव्ययम् ।। । सर्वसिद्धेश्वरं सर्वसिद्धिरूपं च सिद्धिदम्
The seed of supreme bliss, true, imperishable, and undecaying; Lord of all perfections, embodying all perfections, bestower of perfection.
प्रकृतेः परमीशानं निर्गुणं नित्यविग्रहम्
The supreme Lord beyond nature, without qualities, of eternal form.
सत्यं स्वतन्त्रमेकं च परमात्मस्वरूपकम्
True, independent, one alone, the very essence of the supreme self.
एवंरूपं परं बिभ्रद्भगवानेक एव सः
Thus, bearing this supreme form, the Blessed Lord alone exists.
सौतिरुवाच निर्जन्तु निर्जलं घोरं निर्वातं तमसा वृतम्
Sauti said: Barren of creatures, waterless, dreadful, windless, and enveloped in darkness—
वृक्षशैलसमुद्रादिविहीनं विकृताकृतम्
Devoid of trees, mountains, oceans, and the like, it was of a distorted appearance.
आलोच्य मनसा सर्वमेक एवासहायवान्
Having considered all this in mind, he alone, without any companion—
आविर्बभूवुः सर्गादौ पुंसो दक्षिणपार्श्वतः
At the beginning of creation, beings emerged from the southern side of the Man.
ततो महानहङ्कारः पञ्चतन्मात्र एव च
Then arose the great ego and the five subtle elements.
आविर्बभूव पश्चात्स्वयं नारायणः प्रभुः
Afterwards, Narayana himself, the Lord, manifested.
शंखचक्रगदापद्मधरः स्मेरमुखाम्बुजः
He held the conch, discus, mace, and lotus, his lotus-face smiling.
श्रीवत्सवक्षाः श्रीवासः श्रीविधिः श्रीविभावनः
Bearing the mark of Srivatsa on his chest, abode of Sri, origin of Sri, and source of prosperity.
कामदेवप्रभामृष्टरूपलावण्यसुन्दरः
Beautiful in form and charm, shining with the radiance of Kamadeva.
