त्रिपदीं स्थापयेत्तत्र त्रिपद्यां शंखमेव च
One should place the three-footed seat there, and also a conch on the three-footed stand.
गङ्गे च यमुने चैव गोदावरि सरस्वति
The Ganges, Yamuna, Godavari, and Sarasvati,
स्वर्णरेखे कनखले पारिभद्रे च गण्डकि
The Svarnarekha, Kanakhala, Paribhadra, and Gandaki,
पद्मावति त्रिपर्णाशे विपाशे विरजे प्रभे 2.64.
Padmavati, Triparna, Vipasha, Viraja, and Prabha,
वह्निं सूर्य्यं च चन्द्रं च विष्णुं च वरुणं शिवम् नैवेद्यानि च सर्वाणि प्रोक्षयेत्तज्जलेन च
Fire, the sun, the moon, Vishnu, Varuna, Shiva, and all offerings of food should be sprinkled with that water.
प्रत्येकं वै ततो दद्यादुपचारांश्च षोडश
Then, for each one, one should offer the sixteen forms of worship.
मधुपर्कं गन्धमर्घ्यं पुष्पं नैवेद्यमीप्सितम्
Madhuparka, fragrant substances, arghya, flowers, and the desired food offering,
धूपं प्रदीपं तल्पं चेत्युपचारास्तु षोडश
Incense, lamp, bedding—these are among the sixteen offerings.
अमूल्यरत्नसंक्लृप्तं नानाचित्र विराजितम्
Prepared with priceless jewels, adorned with various designs,
अनन्तसूत्रप्रभवमीश्वरेच्छाविनिर्मितम्
Originating from endless threads, created by the will of the Lord,
अमूल्यरत्नपात्रस्थं निर्मलं जाह्नवीजलम्
Pure water from the Ganges, placed in a vessel made of priceless jewels,
सुगन्धामलकीस्निग्धद्रवमेतत्सुदुर्लभम्
This rare, fragrant, pure, and smooth liquid,
कस्तूरीकुंकुमाक्तं च सुगन्धि द्रुतचन्दनम्
Scented with musk and saffron, and fragrant, melted sandalwood,
माध्वीकं रत्नपात्रस्थं सुपवित्रं सुमङ्गलम् 2.64.
Madhuvika, placed in a jewel vessel, supremely pure and most auspicious,
सुगन्धमूलचूर्णं च सुगन्धद्रव्यसंयुतम्
Fragrant root powder, combined with aromatic substances,
पवित्रं शंखपात्रस्थं दूर्वापुष्पाक्षतान्वितम्
Pure water in a conch vessel, accompanied by durva grass, flowers, and rice grains,
सुगन्धि पुष्पश्रेष्ठं च पारिजाततरूद्भवम्
The finest fragrant flowers, born from the parijata tree,
दिव्यं सिद्धान्नमामान्नं पिष्टकं पायसादिकम्
Divine, perfected food, cooked rice, cakes, and sweet rice pudding.
सुवासितं शीततोयं कर्पूरादिसुसंस्कृतम्
Fragrant, cool water, carefully prepared with camphor and other substances,
गुवाकपर्णचूर्णं च कर्पूरादिसुवासितम्
Powder of betel leaves, also made fragrant with camphor and similar ingredients,
अमूल्यरत्नसारैश्च खचितं चेश्वरेच्छया
And, by the will of the Lord, adorned with the essence of priceless jewels,
तरुनिर्य्यासचूर्णं च गन्धवस्तुसमन्वितम्
Powder of young areca nut, together with fragrant substances,
दिव्यरत्नविशेषं च सान्द्रध्वान्तनिवारकम्
And a special divine gem that dispels dense darkness,
रत्नसारगणाकीर्णं दिव्यं पर्य्यङ्कमुत्तमम् 2.64.
An excellent divine couch, covered with clusters of the essence of jewels.
एवं संपूज्य तां दुर्गां दद्यात्पुष्पाञ्जलिं मुने
Having thus worshipped that Durgā, one should offer a handful of flowers, O sage.
उग्रचण्डां प्रचण्डां च चण्डोग्रां चण्डनायिकाम्
Ugracaṇḍā, Pracaṇḍā, Caṇḍogrā, and Caṇḍanāyikā,
पद्मे चाष्टदले चैताः प्रागादिक्रमतस्तथा
These should be placed on the eight petals of the lotus, in order from the east.
आदौ महाभैरवं च तथा संहारभैरवम्
First Mahābhairava, and then Saṃhārabhairava,
कालभैरवमप्येवं क्रोधभैरवमेव च
Likewise Kālabhairava and also Krodhabhairava,
एतान्संपूज्य मध्ये वै नव शक्तींश्च पूजयेत्
Having worshipped these, one should then worship the nine Śaktis in the center.
