वैकुण्ठे च महालक्ष्मीर्वाणी नारायणोरसि
In Vaikuṇṭha, Mahālakṣmī is present, and Vāṇī is on the chest of Nārāyaṇa.
सर्वस्वर्गे स्वर्गलक्ष्मीर्देवदुःखविनाशिनी
In all the heavens, Svargalakṣmī is there, the goddess who destroys the sorrows of the gods.
सावित्री वेदमाता च कलया ब्रह्मवक्षसि
Sāvitrī, the mother of the Vedas, by her portion, is on the chest of Brahmā.
कलया तुलसी त्वं च गङ्गा भुवनपावनी
By a portion, you are Tulasī, and Gaṅgā, the purifier of the worlds.
कला कलांशरूपा च शतरूपा शची दितिः
You are the form of the portion of Kalā, Śatarūpā, Śacī, and Diti.
देव्यश्च मुनिपत्न्यश्च त्वत्कलाकलया शुभे
O auspicious one, the goddesses and the wives of sages are by your portions and sub-portions.
एवं कृत्वा परीहारं स्तुत्वा च कवचं पठेत्
Having thus performed the removal and praised, one should recite the armor.
एवं नित्यं पूजयेद्यो विष्णुतुल्यः स भारते
Whoever worships in this way daily becomes equal to Viṣṇu, O Bhārata.
कार्त्तिकीपूर्णिमायां च राधां यः पूजयेच्छिवे
Whoever worships Rādhā on Kārttikī Pūrṇimā, O auspicious one,
परमैश्वर्य्ययुक्तः स्यादिह लोके स पुण्यवान् 2.55.
That virtuous one becomes endowed with supreme sovereignty in this world.
आदावेवं क्रमेणैव रासे वृन्दावने वने
In the beginning, in this order, in the rāsa in Vṛndāvana forest,
संपूजिता द्वितीये च धात्रा त्वेवं क्रमेण च
She was worshipped in the second instance by the Creator, in this same order.
नारायणो महालक्ष्मीं प्राप संपूज्य भारतीम्
Nārāyaṇa obtained Mahālakṣmī by worshipping Bhāratī.
विष्णुः क्षीरोदशायी च प्राप सिन्धुसुतां तथा
Viṣṇu, reclining on the ocean of milk, likewise obtained the daughter of the ocean.
त्वमेव दुर्गा सम्प्राप्ता पूजिता पुष्करे च सा
You yourself became Durgā, worshipped at Puṣkara.
कामो रतिं च संप्राप धर्मो मूर्तिं पतिव्रताम्। देवाश्च मुनयश्चैव यां संपूज्य प्रतिव्रताम्
Kāma obtained Rati, Dharma obtained a devoted wife in form; and the gods and sages, by worshipping, obtained devoted wives.
संप्रापुर्यद्वरेणैव धर्मकामार्थमोक्षकम्
By that very means, one attains dharma, desire, wealth, and liberation.
श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच संसक्तस्य तुलस्यां च गोप्यां च तुलसीवने
Śrī Maheśvara said: For one attached to Tulasī and to the cowherd woman, in the grove of Tulasī—
सा संहृत्य स्वमूर्त्तीश्च कलाः सर्वाश्च लीलया
She, gathering up her own forms and all her powers, by her play—
भ्रष्टैश्वर्य्याश्च निश्श्रीका भार्य्याहीना ह्युपद्रुताः 2.55.
Deprived of prosperity, bereft of fortune, without wife, and afflicted—
तेषां स्तोत्रेण सन्तुष्टः स्नात्वा संपूज्य तां शुचिः
Pleased by their hymn, after bathing and worshipping her in purity—
श्रीकृष्ण उवाच सुव्यक्तमद्य कापट्यवचनं ते वरानने
Śrī Kṛṣṇa said: Today your words are clearly full of deceit, O beautiful-faced one.
हे कृष्ण त्वं मम प्राणा जीवात्मेति च सन्ततम्
O Kṛṣṇa, you are always my life, my very soul.
तस्मात्सर्वमलीकं ते वचनं जगदम्बिके
Therefore, O Mother of the World, all your words are false.
अस्माकं वचनं सत्यं यद्ब्रवीमि च तच्छ्रुतम्
Our words are true; what I say, that you have heard.
शक्तो न रक्षितुं त्वां च यान्ति प्राणास्त्वया विना
Unable to protect you, my life departs without you.
सगुणा त्वं च कलया निर्गुणा स्वयमेव तु
With qualities, you are by your power; yet you are yourself without qualities.
ज्योतीरूपा निराकारा भक्तानुग्रहविग्रहा
You are of the form of light, formless, and the embodiment of grace to devotees.
महालक्ष्मीश्च वैकुण्ठे भारती च सतां प्रसूः
You are Mahālakṣmī in Vaikuṇṭha, and Bhāratī, the mother of the virtuous.
तुलसी पुण्यरूपा च गंगा भुवनपावनी 2.55.
You are Tulasī, the embodiment of merit, and Gaṅgā, the purifier of the worlds.
