बभूवुः क्षुद्रनद्यश्च तदाऽन्या गोप्य एव च
Then, other small rivers and also the gopis themselves appeared.
इमे सप्त समुद्राश्च विरजानन्दना भुवि
These seven oceans are the daughters of Viraja on earth.
न दृष्ट्वा विरजां कृष्णं स्वगृहं च पुनर्ययौ
Not seeing Viraja or Krishna, he did not return to his own house.
गोपीभिर्द्वारि युक्ताभिर्वारितोऽपि पुनः पुनः
Though repeatedly stopped at the door by the assembled gopis,
सुदामा भर्त्सयामास तां तथा कृष्णसन्निधौ
Sudama rebuked her in Krishna's presence in that way.
गच्छ त्वमासुरीं योनिं गच्छ दूरमतो द्रुतम् 2.49.
Go, enter a demonic womb; go far away from here at once.
भव गोपी गोपकन्यामुख्याभिः स्वाभिरेव च
Be born as a gopi, among the foremost daughters of the cowherds, with your own kind.
तत्र भारावतरणं भगवांश्च करिष्यति साश्रुनेत्रो मोहयुक्तस्ततो गन्तुं समुद्यतः
There, the Blessed Lord will accomplish the removal of the earth's burden; with tearful eyes and bewildered, she then prepared to depart.
राधा जगाम तत्पश्चात्साश्रुनेत्राऽतिविह्वला
Radha followed after her, her eyes filled with tears, utterly distressed.
कृष्णस्तां बोधयामास विद्यया च कृपानिधिः
Krishna, the ocean of compassion, consoled her with knowledge.
स चासुरः शङ्खचूडो बभूव तुलसीपतिः
And that asura became Shankhachuda, the husband of Tulasi.
राधा जगाम वाराहे गोकुलं भारतं सती
Radha, the virtuous one, went to Gokula in the Varaha Kalpa, O Bharata.
अयोनिसम्भवा देवी वायुगर्भा कलावती
The goddess, not born from a womb, Kalavati, was conceived by the wind.
अतीते द्वादशाब्दे तु दृष्ट्वा तां नवयौवनाम्
When twelve years had passed, seeing her in the bloom of new youth—
छायां संस्थाप्य तद्गेहे साऽन्तर्द्धानमवाप ह
She left her shadow in that house and then disappeared.
गते चतुर्दशाब्दे तु कंसभीतेश्छलेन च 2.49.
When the fourteenth year had passed, by a pretext out of fear of Kamsa—
कृष्णमाता यशोदा या रायाणस्तत्सहोदरः
Yashoda, Krishna’s mother, and Rayana, his brother—
कृष्णेन सह राधायाः पुण्ये वृन्दावने वने
Together with Krishna, in the holy forest of Vrindavana, with Radha—
स्वप्ने राधापदाम्भोजं नहि पश्यन्ति बल्लवाः
In dreams, the cowherds do not see the lotus feet of Radha.
षष्टिवर्षसहस्राणि तपस्तेपे पुरा विधिः
Long ago, Brahma performed austerities for sixty thousand years.
भारावतरणे भूमेर्भारते नन्दगोकुले ।। ददर्श तत्पदाम्भोजं तपसस्तत्फलेन च
When the earth’s burden was to be lifted, in Bharata, at Nandagokula, he saw her lotus feet as the fruit of his austerity.
किञ्चित्कालं स वै कृष्णः पुण्ये वृन्दावने वने
For some time, Krishna remained in the holy forest of Vrindavana.
ततः सुदामशापेन विच्छेदश्च बभूव ह
Then, by the curse of Sudama, separation occurred.
शताब्दे समतीते तु तीर्थयात्राप्रसंगतः
When a hundred years had passed, on the occasion of a pilgrimage—
ततो जगाम गोलोकं राधया सह तत्त्ववित्
Then, knowing the truth, he went to Goloka together with Radha.
वृषभानुश्च नन्दश्च ययौ गोलोकमुत्तमम् 2.49.
Vrishabhanu and Nanda also went to the supreme Goloka.
छाया गोपाश्च गोप्यश्च प्रापुर्मुक्तिं च सन्निधौ
The shadow, the cowherds, and the cowherd women attained liberation in his presence.
षट्त्रिंशल्लक्षकोट्यश्च गोप्यो गोपाश्च तत्समाः
And thirty-six hundred million cowherd women and cowherds, equal to them.
द्रोणः प्रजापतिर्नन्दो यशोदा तत्प्रिया धरा
Droṇa is Prajāpati, Nanda; Yaśodā is his beloved, Dhara.
वसुदेवः कश्यपश्च देवकी चादितिः सती
Vasudeva is Kaśyapa, and Devakī is Aditi, the virtuous one.
