अन्नं ब्रह्मस्वरूपं च प्राणरक्षणकारणम्
Food, which is the very form of Brahman and the cause of sustaining life,
शाल्यक्षतसुपक्वं च शर्करागव्यसंयुतम्
Well-cooked rice and grains, combined with sugar and ghee,
शर्करागव्यपक्वं च सुस्वादु सुमनोहरम्
Prepared with sugar and ghee, delicious and exceedingly pleasing,
नानाविधानि रम्याणि पक्वानि च फलानि तु
Various delightful and cooked fruits,
सुरभिस्तनसम्भूतं सुस्वादु सुमनोहरम्
Milk produced from fragrant breasts, delicious and exceedingly pleasing,
सुस्वादुरससंयुक्तमिक्षुवृक्षरसोद्भवम्
Sweet and flavorful, arising from the sap of the sugarcane tree,
यवगोधूमसस्यानां चूर्णरेणुसमुद्भवम्
Originating from the flour and powder of barley and wheat crops,
सस्यचूर्णोद्भवं पक्वं स्वस्तिकादिसमन्वितम् 2.39.
Cooked preparations made from grain flour, accompanied by svastika and other items,
पार्थिवं वृक्षभेदं च विविधैर्द्रव्यकारकम्
Earthly varieties of trees, producing diverse substances,
शीतवायुप्रदं चैव दाहे च सुखदं परम्
That which bestows cool air and supreme comfort in heat,
ताम्बूलं च वरं रम्यं कर्पूरादिसुवासितम्
Excellent and delightful betel, fragranced with camphor and other scents,
सुवासितं शीतलं च पिपासानाशकारणम्
Fragrant and cool, serving as the cause of quenching thirst,
देहसौन्दर्य्यबीजं च सदा शोभाविवर्द्धनम्
The seed of bodily beauty, ever increasing radiance.
रत्नस्वर्णविकारं च देहसौख्यविवर्द्धनम्
Transformation of gems and gold, ever enhancing bodily comfort.
नानाकुसुमसन्दर्भं बहुशोभाप्रदं परम्
A collection of various flowers, bestowing supreme and abundant splendor.
शुद्धिदं शुद्धिरूपं च सर्वमङ्गलमङ्गलम्
That which grants purity, is of the nature of purity, and is the most auspicious among all auspicious things.
पुण्यतीर्थोदकं चैव विशुद्धं शुद्धिदं सदा
Indeed, it is holy water from sacred places, always pure and bestowing purity.
रत्नसारैस्संग्रथितं पुष्पचन्दनसंयुतम् 2.39.
Woven with the essence of jewels, combined with flowers and sandalwood.
यद्यद्द्रव्यमपूर्वं च पृथिव्यामस्ति दुर्लभम्
Whatever rare and unprecedented substance exists on earth,
द्रव्याण्येतानि दत्त्वा वै मूलेन देवपुंगव
Having given these substances in full, O best of gods,
जपेन दशलक्षेण मन्त्रसिद्धिर्बभूव ह
By reciting the mantra one million times, perfection of the mantra was attained.
लक्ष्मीर्माया कामवाणी ततः कमलवासिनी
Then Lakshmi, Maya, and Kamavani, the one who dwells in the lotus,
श्रीं ह्रीं क्लीं ऐं कमलवासिन्यै स्वाहा राजराजेश्वरो दक्षः सावर्णिर्मनुरेव च
Śrīṃ hrīṃ klīṃ aiṃ, svāhā to the one who dwells in the lotus; King of kings Daksha, and also Manu Savarni.
मंगलोऽनेन मन्त्रेण सप्तद्वीपवतीपतिः
By this mantra, Mangala became lord of the seven-island earth.
एते च सिद्धा राजेन्द्रा मन्त्रेणानेन नारद
These kings, O Narada, attained perfection through this mantra.
रत्नेन्द्रव्यूहखचितविमानस्था वरप्रदा
Residing in an aerial chariot adorned with arrays of chief jewels, bestowing boons.
बिभ्रती रत्नमालां च कोटि चन्द्रसमप्रभा 2.39.
Wearing a garland of jewels, her radiance equal to millions of moons.
पुलकाङ्कितसर्वाङ्गः साश्रुनेत्रः कृताञ्जलिः सर्वाभीष्टप्रदेनैव वैदिकेनैव तत्र च
His whole body thrilled, eyes filled with tears, hands joined in reverence, he offered the Vedic invocation that grants all desires.
इन्द्र उवाच कृष्णप्रियायै सारायै पद्मायै च नमो नमः
Indra said: Repeated salutations to her who is dear to Krishna, who is essence, and who is Padma.
पद्मपत्रेक्षणायै च पद्मास्यायै नमो नमः
Repeated salutations to her whose eyes are like lotus petals, whose face is like a lotus.
