गव्यूतिमानं ध्वान्ताक्तं शब्दकृद्भिश्च सन्ततम्
Measuring a cow's length, covered in darkness, constantly filled with those making noise.
श्लैष्मपूर्णं क्रोशमितं वेष्टितं चेष्टितैः सदा
Filled with phlegm, a krosha in length, always surrounded by restless beings.
क्रोशार्द्धं गरपूर्णं च गरभोजिभिरन्वितम्
Half a krosha, filled with poison, accompanied by poison-eaters.
ताडितैर्मम दूतैश्च शब्दकृद्भिश्च कम्पितैः
Struck by my messengers and shaken by those making noise.
नेत्रयोर्मलपूर्णं च क्रोशार्द्धं कीटसंयुतम्
Half a krosha, filled with filth from the eyes, joined with insects.
वसारसेन पूर्णं च क्रोशतुर्य्यं सुदुस्सहम्
Filled with marrow and fat, four kroshas in length, extremely unbearable.
शुक्रपूर्णं क्रोशतुर्य्यं शुक्रकीटैश्च भक्षितैः
Four kroshas filled with semen, consumed by semen-worms.
दुर्गन्धिरक्तपूर्णं च वापीमानं गभीरकम्
Filled with foul-smelling blood, a deep reservoir.
पूर्णं नेत्राश्रुभिर्नृणां वाप्यर्द्धं पापिभिर्युतम् 2.33.
Filled with the tears from men's eyes, half a reservoir, accompanied by sinners.
नृणां गात्रमलैः पूर्णं तद्भक्ष्यैः पापिभिर्युतम्
Filled with the filth from men's bodies, accompanied by sinners who consume it.
कर्णविट्परिपूर्णं च तद्भक्ष्यैः पापिभिर्युतम्
Filled with earwax, accompanied by sinners who consume it.
मज्जापूर्णं नराणां च महादुर्गन्धिसंयुतम्
Filled with marrow from men, accompanied by a terrible stench.
परिपूर्णं स्निग्धमांसैर्मम दूतैश्च ताडितैः
Completely filled with tender flesh, and struck by my messengers,
कन्याविक्रयिभिश्चैव तद्भक्ष्यैः कीटभक्षितैः
And also by sellers of maidens, with those who eat them, and those devoured by insects,
वापीतुर्य्यप्रमाणं च नखादिकचतुष्टयम्
With the measure of a large pond, and four things such as nails and the like,
! प्रतप्तताम्रकुंडं च ताम्रपर्य्युन्मुखान्वितम्
And a blazing copper cauldron, with copper turned upward,
प्रत्येकं प्रतिमाश्लिष्टै रुदद्भिः पापिभिर्युतम्
Each one, embraced by images, surrounded by sinners who are weeping,
प्रतप्तलोहधारं च ज्वलदङ्गारसंयुतम्
And a stream of heated iron, mixed with burning coals,
प्रत्येकं सर्वसंश्लिष्टैः शश्वद्विचलितैर्भिया 2.33.
Each one, entirely surrounded by all, constantly trembling with fear,
महापातकिभिर्युक्तं द्विगव्यूतिप्रमाणकम्
Joined with great sinners, measuring twice the length of an army formation,
धर्मकुण्डं तप्तसुराकुण्डं वाप्यर्द्धमेव च
A pit of righteousness, a pit of heated liquor, and even half a pond,
अधः शाल्मलिवृक्षस्य तीक्ष्णकण्टककुण्डकम्
Below the Śālmalī tree, a pit filled with sharp thorns,
धनुर्माने कण्टकैश्च सुतीक्ष्णैः परिवेष्टितम्
Surrounded, in the measure of a bow, by very sharp thorns,
प्रत्येकं कंटकैर्विद्धं महापातकिभिर्युतम्
Each one pierced by thorns, together with great sinners,
जलं देहीति शब्दं च कुर्वद्भिः शुष्कतालुकैः प्रचलद्भिर्यथा तप्ततैले जीविभिरेव च
Crying out 'Give water!' with parched throats, moving about as those living beings do in boiling oil,
विषौघैस्तक्षकादीनां पूर्णं च क्रोशमानकम्
Filled with streams of poison from serpents like Takṣaka, and those who are crying out,
प्रतप्ततैलपूर्णं च कीटादिपरिवर्जितम्
Also filled with boiling oil, devoid of insects and the like,
काकुशब्दं प्रकुर्वद्भिश्चलद्भिर्दूतताडितैः
Making the sound of distress, moving about, struck by messengers,
शस्त्रकुण्डं ध्वान्तयुक्तं क्रोशमानं भयानकम् 2.33.
A pit of weapons, filled with darkness, terrifying and full of cries,
शस्त्रतल्पस्वरूपं च क्रोशतुर्य्यप्रमाणकम्
And in the form of a bed of weapons, measuring the length of a large bow,
