आशौचेऽशुचिकाले वा रात्रिवासान्विते नराः
Or in impurity, at impure times, or when night has fallen, men—
त्रिरात्रं तुलसीपत्रं शुद्धं पर्युषितं सति
If the Tulasī leaf is pure but has been kept for three nights,
भूगतं तोयपतितं यद्दत्तं विष्णवे सति
Or fallen to the ground, or dropped in water, and is then offered to Viṣṇu,
वृक्षाधिष्ठात्री देवी या गोलोके च निरामये ।। कृष्णेन सार्द्धं रहसि नित्यं क्रीडां करिष्यति
The goddess who presides over the tree, who is pure in Goloka, will always play in secret with Kṛṣṇa.
नद्यधिष्ठातृदेवी या भारते च सुपुण्यदा
The goddess who presides over the river, who bestows great merit in Bhārata,
त्वं च स्वयं महासाध्वी वैकुण्ठे मम सन्निधौ
And you yourself, O most virtuous one, will be in my presence in Vaikuṇṭha.
अहं च शैलरूपी च गण्डकीतीरसन्निधौ
And I, in the form of a mountain, will be near the bank of the Gaṇḍakī river.
वज्रकीटाश्च कृमयो वज्रदंष्ट्राश्च तत्र वै
There, indeed, are vajra-beetles and worms, and those with diamond-like fangs.
एकद्वारे चतुश्चक्रं वनमालाविभूषितम् 2.21.
With one entrance, four wheels, adorned with a garland of forest flowers.
एकद्वारे चतुश्चक्रं नवीननीरदोपमम्
With one entrance, four wheels, resembling a fresh raincloud.
द्वारद्वये चतुश्चक्रं गोष्पदेन समन्वितम्
With two entrances, four wheels, and marked with a cow’s hoofprint.
अतिक्षुद्रं द्विचक्रं च नवीनजलदप्रभम्
Very small, with two wheels, shining like a new raincloud.
अतिक्षुद्रं द्विचक्रं च वनमा लाविभूषितम्
Very small, with two wheels, adorned with a garland of forest flowers.
स्थूलं च वर्तुलाकारं रहितं वनमालया
Large and round in shape, without a garland of forest flowers.
मध्यमं वर्तुलाकारं द्विचक्रं बाणविक्षतम्
The middle one is circular, with two wheels, and marked by arrow wounds.
मध्यमं सप्तचक्रं च छत्रतूणसमन्वितम्
The middle one has seven wheels and is furnished with a parasol and staff.
द्विसप्तचक्रं स्थूलं च नवीनजलदप्रभम्
It is thick, with two or seven wheels, and shines like a fresh raincloud.
चक्राकारं द्विचक्रं च सश्रीकं जलदप्रभम्
Wheel-shaped, with two wheels, adorned with marks of prosperity, and radiant like a raincloud.
सुदर्शनं चैकचक्रं गुप्तचक्रं गदाधरम् 2.21.
Sudarshana is single-wheeled, with a hidden wheel, and bears a mace.
अतीव विस्तृतास्यं च द्विचक्रं विकटं सति
Its mouth is exceedingly wide, with two wheels, and appears fierce.
द्विचक्रं विस्तृतास्यं च वनमालासमन्वितम्
With two wheels and a wide mouth, it is adorned with a forest garland.
द्वारदेशे द्विचक्रं च सश्रीकं च समं स्फुटम्
At the doorway, there is a two-wheeled one, even, clear, and marked with prosperity.
प्रद्युम्नं सूक्ष्मचक्रं च नवीननीरदप्रभम्
Pradyumna is subtle-wheeled, shining like a fresh raincloud.
द्वे चक्रे चैकलग्ने च पृष्ठे यत्र तु पुष्कलम्
There are two wheels, one attached, and on the back, it is abundant.
अनिरुद्धं तु पीताभं वर्तुलं चातिशोभनम्
Aniruddha is yellow in hue, round, and exceedingly beautiful.

छत्राकारं भवेद्राज्यं वर्तुले च महाश्रियः
A parasol shape brings sovereignty, and a circular one great prosperity.
विकृतास्ये च दारिद्र्यं पिङ्गले हानिरेव च 2.21.
A deformed mouth brings poverty, and tawny color brings loss.
व्रतं दानं प्रतिष्ठा च श्राद्धं च देवपूजनम्
