पतितोऽपतितो वापि कृपणश्चेश्वरोऽथवा
Whether fallen or not, whether wretched or a lord—
ध्रुवं ताः परभोग्याश्च पतिं निन्दन्ति सन्ततम् 1.6.
Certainly, those who constantly criticize their husband are destined for enjoyment by others.
गोलोके स्वामिना सार्द्धं कोटिकल्पं प्रमोदते
In Goloka, together with her husband, she delights for ten million aeons.
मदाज्ञया च तां साध्वीं ग्रहीष्यसि भवाय च
By my command, you will take that virtuous woman as your wife, for the sake of prosperity.
तीर्थे सहस्रं संपूज्य भक्त्या पञ्चोपचारतः
Having worshipped a thousand holy places with devotion using the five offerings,
कोटिकल्पं च गोलोके मोदते च मया सह
One enjoys happiness in Goloka for a crore of aeons together with me.
न च्युतिस्तस्य गोलोकात्स भवेदावयोः समः
There is no departure from Goloka for him; he remains equal to us.
कृत्वा लिङ्गं सकृत्पूज्य वसेत्कल्पायुतं दिवि
Having made a liṅga and worshipped it once, one dwells in heaven for ten thousand aeons.
ज्ञानवान्मुक्तिमान्साधुः शिवलिङ्गार्चनाद्भवेत् भवेत्तत्र मृतः पापी शिवलोकं स गच्छति
A wise, liberated, virtuous person attains this through worship of the Śiva liṅga; even a sinner who dies there goes to the realm of Śiva.
महादेव महादेव महादेवेतिवादिनः
Those who utter 'Mahādeva, Mahādeva, Mahādeva' repeatedly,
शिवेति शब्दमुच्चार्य्य प्राणांस्त्यजति यो नरः
The man who pronounces the word 'Śiva' and gives up his life,
शिवकल्याणवचनं कल्याणं मुक्तिवाचकम् 1.6.
The auspicious speech of Śiva is auspicious and bestows liberation.
विच्छेदे धनबन्धूनां निमग्नः शोकसागरे
Immersed in the ocean of sorrow due to separation from wealth and relatives,
पापघ्ने वर्तते शिश्च वश्च मुक्तिप्रदे तथा
It acts as a destroyer of sin, and also grants liberation to children and servants.
शिवेति च शिवं नाम यस्य वाचि प्रवर्त्तते
And whoever's speech continually utters the name 'Śiva',
इत्युक्त्वा शूलिने कृष्णो दत्त्वा कल्पतरुं मनुम्
Having said this to the wielder of the trident, Krishna gave the wish-fulfilling mantra.
श्रीभगवानुवाच काले भजिष्यसि शिवं शिवदं च शिवायनम्
The Blessed Lord said: In time you will worship Śiva, the giver of auspiciousness and the abode of auspiciousness.
तेजःसु सर्वदेवानामाविर्भूय वरानने
Having appeared among the radiance of all the gods, O beautiful-faced one,
ततः कल्पविशेषे च सत्यं सत्ययुगे सति
Then, in a special aeon, in the Satya Yuga, when truth prevails,
ततः शरीरं संत्यज्य यज्ञे भर्तुश्च निन्दया
Then, abandoning the body due to the reproach of the sacrifice's lord,
दिव्यं वर्षसहस्रं च विहरिष्यसि शम्भुना
You will enjoy a thousand divine years together with Śambhu.
काले सर्वेषु विश्वेषु महापूजासु पूजिते ।। 1.6.
At the time when all worlds are worshipped in great ceremonies.
ग्रामेषु नगरेष्वेव पूजिता ग्रामदेवता
In villages and cities, the village deity is worshipped.
मदाज्ञया शिवकृतैस्तन्त्रैर्नानाविधैरपि
By my command, with various tantras composed by Shiva,
भविष्यन्ति महान्तश्च तवैव परिचारकाः
There will be great ones who are your attendants alone.
ये त्वां मातर्भजिष्यन्ति पुण्यक्षेत्रे च भारते
And those who worship you, Mother, in the holy land of Bharata,
इत्युक्त्वा प्रकृतिं तस्यै मन्त्रमेकादशाक्षरम्
Having spoken thus, he gave her the eleven-syllabled mantra.
चकार विधिना ध्यानं भक्तं भक्तानुकम्पया
With proper method, he performed meditation for her, out of compassion for devotees.
सृष्ट्यौपयौगिकीं शक्तिं सर्वसिद्धिं च कामदाम्
He bestowed the power suitable for creation, granting all perfections and wish-fulfillment.
त्रयोदशाक्षरं मन्त्रं दत्त्वा तस्मै जगत्पतिः
The Lord of the universe gave him the thirteen-syllabled mantra.
