कोटियोजनविस्तीर्णा ततो दैर्घ्ये चतुर्गुणा
It was a hundred yojanas wide, and four times as long.
गृहं मयि गतायां च पुनर्गत्वा तदन्तिकम्
When I had gone home, you went to her again.
तदा तोयात्समुत्थाय सा योगात्सिद्धयोगिनी 2.11.
Then, rising from the water by her yogic power, she became a perfected yogini.
ततस्तां च समाश्लिष्य वीर्य्याधानं कृतं त्वया
Then you embraced her and deposited your seed.
दृष्टस्त्वं शोभया गोप्या युक्तश्चम्पककानने
I saw you with a beautiful gopi in the champaka grove.
शोभा देहं परित्यज्य प्राविशच्चन्द्रमण्डलम्
Her beauty, leaving her body, entered the orb of the moon.
संविभज्य त्वया दत्तं हृदयेन विदूयता
That which has been given by you, having been distributed with a pure heart,
किञ्चित्स्त्रीणां मुखाब्जेभ्यः किञ्चिद्राज्ञे च किञ्चन
— a portion to the lotus-faced women, a portion to the king as well,
किञ्चिच्चन्दनपङ्केभ्यस्तोयेभ्यश्चापि किञ्चन
a portion to sandalwood pastes, and a portion also to waters,
किञ्चित्फलेभ्यः सस्येभ्यः सुपक्वेभ्यश्च किञ्चन
a portion to fruits and grains, and to those that are well-ripened,
दृष्टस्त्वं प्रभया गोप्या युक्तो वृन्दावने वने
You were seen, together with the radiant Gopī, in the forest of Vṛndāvana,
प्रभा देहं परित्यज्य प्राविशत्सूर्य्यमण्डलम्
The radiance, leaving her body, entered the orb of the sun.
संविभज्य त्वया दत्तं प्रेम्णा च रुदता पुरा 2.11.
That which was given by you, distributed with love and in tears before,
हुताशनाय किंचिच्च नृपेभ्यश्चापि किञ्चन
— a portion to the fire, and a portion also to kings,
किंचिद्दस्युगणेभ्यश्च नागेभ्यश्चापि किंचन
a portion to groups of thieves, and a portion also to serpents,
स्त्रीभ्यः सौभाग्ययुक्ताभ्यो यशस्विभ्यश्च किंचन
a portion to women endowed with good fortune, and also to those who are renowned,
शान्त्या गोप्या युतस्त्वं च दृष्टो वै रासमण्डले
You were seen, together with the peaceful Gopī, in the circle of the rāsa dance.
रत्नप्रदीपैर्युक्तश्च रत्ननिर्मितमन्दिरे
Adorned with jeweled lamps, in a palace made of jewels,
त्वया दत्तं च ताम्बूलं भुक्तवत्यै सुवासितम्
The betel you gave, fragrant, was enjoyed by her,
सद्यो मच्छब्दमात्रेण तिरोधानं कृतं त्वया
At the mere sound of my name, you immediately became invisible.
ततस्तस्याः शरीरं च गुणश्रेष्ठं बभूव ह
Then her body became endowed with the highest qualities.
त्वन्मन्त्रोपासकेभ्यश्च वैष्णवेभ्यश्च किंचन 2.11.
— a portion to those devoted to your mantra, and to the Vaiṣṇavas.
मया पूर्वं हि दृष्टस्त्वं गोप्या च क्षमया सह
Formerly, I saw you together with the Gopī, accompanied by forgiveness,
रत्नभूषितया चारुचन्दनोक्षितया तया
She was adorned with jewels and anointed with beautiful sandalwood paste.
श्लिष्टोऽभून्निद्रया सद्यः सुखेन नवसङ्गमात्
He was immediately embraced by sleep, from happiness, after their new union.
गृहीतं पीतवस्त्रं ते मुरली च मनोहरा
Your yellow garment was taken, and your enchanting flute as well.
पश्चात्प्रदत्तं प्रेम्णा च सखीनां वचनादहो
Afterwards, these were returned with love, at the words of the friends—indeed!
क्षमा देहं परित्यज्य लज्जया पृथिवीं गता
Out of shame, Kṣamā abandoned her body and entered the earth.
संविभज्य त्वया दत्तं प्रेम्णा च रुदता पुरा
What was given by you, divided and offered with love, while weeping before,
धर्मिष्ठेभ्यश्च धर्माय दुर्बलेभ्यश्च किंचन
—that was for the righteous, for the sake of dharma, and a little for the weak.
