उदरे च यशोदायाः कल्याणी नंदरेतसा
A blessed one will be born in the womb of Yaśodā, from the seed of Nanda.
ग्रामे ग्रामे च पूजां ते कारयिष्यामि भूतले
In every village on earth, I will have your worship performed.
तत्राधिष्ठातृदेवीं त्वां पूजयिष्यंति मानवाः
There, as the presiding goddess, you will be worshipped by people.
त्वद्भूमिस्पर्शमात्रेण सूतिकामंदिरे शिवे
O auspicious one, merely by the touch of your presence, in the birthing chamber—
कंसदर्शन मात्रेण गमिष्यसि शिवांतिकम् 4.6.
By merely seeing Kaṃsa, you will go to the presence of Śiva.
इत्युक्त्वा श्रीहरिस्तूर्णमुवाच च षडाननम्
Having spoken thus, Śrī Hari quickly addressed the six-faced one.
जांबवत्याश्च गर्भे च लभ जन्म सुरेश्वर
Take birth, O Lord of the gods, in the womb of Jāmbavatī.
भारहारं करिष्यामि वसुधायाश्च निश्चितम्
I will certainly relieve the burden of the earth.
तस्थुर्देवाश्च देव्यश्च गोपा गोप्यश्च नारद पुटांजलिर्जगत्कांतमुवाच विन यान्वितः
The gods, goddesses, cowherds, cowherd women, and Nārada stood with folded hands and, together with Vināyaka, addressed the beloved of the world.
आज्ञां कुरु महाभाग कस्य कुत्र स्थलं भुवि
Command us, O greatly fortunate one: who, where, and in what place on earth?
स भृत्यः सर्वदा भक्त ईश्वराज्ञां करोति यः
He is always a servant and devotee who carries out the command of the Lord.
कुत्र कस्याभिदेयं च विषयं च महीतले
On earth, to whom, where, and in what domain?
यत्र यस्यावकाशं च कथयामि विधानतः
I will tell, according to order, where and to whom the opportunity belongs.
शंबरस्य गृहे या च छायारूपेण संस्थिता 4.6.
She who dwells in the house of Śambara in the form of a shadow—
भारती शोणितपुरे बाणपुत्री भविष्यति
Bhāratī will become the daughter of Bāṇa in the city of Śoṇita.
मायया गर्भसंकर्षान्नाम्ना संकर्षणः प्रभुः
By the power of Māyā, through the transfer of the embryo, the Lord will be known as Saṃkarṣaṇa.
अर्द्धांशेनैव तुलसी लक्ष्मणा राज कन्यका
By half of her portion, Tulasī will be Lakṣmaṇā, the royal maiden.
वसुंधरा सत्यभामा शैब्या देवी सरस्वती
Vasundharā will be Satyabhāmā, Śaibyā will be the goddess Sarasvatī.
सूर्यपत्नी रत्नमाला कलया च जगत्प्रभोः
Ratnamālā, wife of the Sun, by a portion of the Lord of the world—
दुर्गांशार्द्धाज्जांबवती महिषीणां दश स्मृताः
From half the portion of Durgā is Jāmbavatī; these are remembered as the ten queens.
कैलासे शंकराज्ञा च बभूव पार्वतीं पुरा आलिंगनं देहि कांते नास्ति दोषो ममा ज्ञया
On Kailāsa, by the command of Śaṃkara, Pārvatī once said: 'Embrace me, O beloved; there is no fault in my knowledge.'
कथं शिवाज्ञा तां देवीं बभूव राधिकापते
How did the command of Śiva become that goddess, O Lord of Rādhikā?
श्वेतद्वीपात्स्वयं विष्णुर्जगाम शंकरालये
Viṣṇu himself departed from Śvetadvīpa and went to the abode of Śaṃkara.
दृष्ट्वा गणेशं मुदितः समुवास सुखासने 4.6.
Seeing Gaṇeśa, he joyfully sat upon a comfortable seat.
किरीटिनं कुंडलिनं पीतांबरधरं वरम्
He saw Gaṇeśa adorned with a crown, wearing earrings, and clad in yellow garments, the best.
चंदनागुरुकस्तूरीकुंकुमद्रवसंयुतम्
He was anointed with sandalwood, aguru, musk, and saffron essence.
रत्न सिंहासनस्थं च पार्षदैः परिवेष्टितम्
He was seated upon a jeweled throne, surrounded by attendants.
तं दृष्ट्वा पार्वती विष्णुं प्रसन्नवदनेक्षणा
Upon seeing Viṣṇu, Pārvatī gazed with a pleased countenance.
अतीव सुन्दरं रूपं दर्शंदर्शं पुनःपुनः
His form was exceedingly beautiful, and she beheld it again and again.
परमाद्भुतवेषं च सस्मिता वक्रचक्षुषा
He had a most wondrous appearance, smiling, with glancing eyes.
