तस्य स्पर्शं च वाञ्छन्ति तीर्थानि निखि लानि च
All the sacred places, indeed, desire his touch.
तत्रैव हरिणा सार्द्धमसंख्यं प्राकृतं लयम्
There, along with Hari, the countless ordinary ones attain dissolution.
यानि कानि च पापानि ब्रह्महत्यादिकानि च
Whatever sins there are, including the killing of a Brahmin and others,
तत्पादपद्मरजसा सद्यः पूता वसुन्धरा 2.21.
By the dust of his lotus feet, the earth is instantly purified.
शालग्रामशिला तोयं मृत्युकाल च यो लभेत्
Whoever obtains water from the Śālagrāma stone at the time of death,
निर्वाणमुक्तिं लभते कर्मभोगाद्विमुच्यते
He attains liberation and release, freed from the results of actions.
शालग्रामशिलां धृत्वा मिथ्यावादं वदेत्तु यः
Whoever, having taken up the Śālagrāma stone, speaks falsehood,
शालग्रामशिलां स्पृष्ट्वा स्वीकारं यो न पालयेत्
Whoever, having touched the Śālagrāma stone, does not fulfill an accepted vow,
तुलसीपत्र विच्छेदं शालग्रामे करोति यः
Whoever cuts Tulasi leaves upon the Śālagrāma stone,
तुलसीपत्रविच्छेदं शंखे यो हि करोति च
And whoever cuts Tulasi leaves upon a conch shell,
शालग्रामं च तुलसीं शंखमेकत्र एव च
Śālagrāma, Tulasi, and the conch shell—if all three are together in one place,
सकृदेव हि यो यस्यां वीर्य्याधानं करोति यः
Whoever, even once, deposits semen in any of these,
त्वं प्रिया शंखचूडस्य चैकमन्वन्तरावधि
You are the beloved of Śaṅkhacūḍa for the duration of one Manvantara.
इत्युक्त्वा श्रीहरिस्तां च विरराम च सादरम् 2.21.
Having spoken thus, Śrī Hari respectfully became silent.
यथा श्रीश्च तथा सा चाप्युवास हरिवक्षसि
Just as Śrī herself, so too did she dwell upon the chest of Hari.
लक्ष्मीः सरस्वती गङ्गा तुलसी चापि नारद
O Nārada, Lakṣmī, Sarasvatī, Gaṅgā, and also Tulasi—
सद्यस्तद्देहजाता च बभूव गण्डकी नदी
At once, from her body, the river Gaṇḍakī came into being.
कुर्वन्ति तत्र कीटाश्च शिलां बहुविधां मुने
There, O sage, insects create many kinds of stones.
स्थलस्थाः पिङ्गला ज्ञेयाश्चोपतापाद्धरेरिति
Those that are tawny and found on land are to be known as afflicted by Hari’s fever.
नारद उवाच तस्याः पूजाविधानं च स्तोत्रं किं न श्रुतं मया
Nārada said: Why have I not heard the method of her worship and her hymn?
केन पूज्या स्तुता केन पुरा प्रथमतो मुने
By whom was she first worshipped and praised in ancient times, O sage?
सूत उवाच कथां कथितुमारेभे पुण्यरूपां पुरातनीम्
Sūta said: He began to narrate the ancient, meritorious story.
नारायण उवाच रमासमां तां सौभाग्यां चकार गौरवेण च
Nārāyaṇa said: With great respect, he made her equal in fortune to Ramā.
सेहे लक्ष्मीश्च गंगा च तस्याश्च नवसंगमम्
Lakṣmī and Gaṅgā endured her new union.
सा तां जघान कलहे मानिनी हरिसन्निधौ
She, proud, struck her in quarrel in the presence of Hari.
सर्वसिद्धेश्वरी देवी ज्ञानिनी सिद्धयोगिनी
The goddess, sovereign of all accomplishments, wise, and a perfected yogini.
हरिर्न दृष्ट्वा तुलसीं बोधयित्वा सरस्वतीम्
Hari, not seeing Tulasī, instructed Sarasvatī.
तत्र गत्वा च स्नात्वा च तुलस्या तुलसीं सतीम्
Going there and bathing, he worshipped the chaste Tulasī with Tulasī leaves.
लक्ष्मीमायाकामवाणीबीजपूर्वं दशाक्षरम् 2.22.
The ten-syllable mantra, beginning with the seed-syllables of Lakṣmī, Māyā, Kāma, and Vāṇī.
श्रीं ह्रीं क्लीं ऐं वृन्दावन्यै स्वाहा पूजयेच्च विधानेन सर्वसिद्धिं लभेन्नरः
"Śrīṃ hrīṃ klīṃ aiṃ vṛndāvanyai svāhā"—one should worship according to the proper method; a man attains all accomplishments.
