मध्यमं सप्तचक्रं च छत्रतूणसमन्वितम्
Medium-sized, with seven wheels, furnished with an umbrella and a quiver.
द्विसप्तचक्रं स्थूलं च नवीनजलदप्रभम्
With two or seven wheels, large, shining like a fresh raincloud.
चक्राकारं द्विचक्रं च सश्रीकं जलदप्रभम्
Wheel-shaped, with two wheels, splendid, shining like a raincloud.

Where there are two circles, and at the back a single mark, there is abundance.

Aniruddha is of yellow hue, round, and exceedingly beautiful.
शालग्रामशिला यत्र तत्र सन्निहितो हरिः
Where the Śālagrāma stone is found, there Hari is present.
यानि कानि च पापानि ब्रह्महत्यादिकानि च
Whatever sins there are, including the killing of a Brahmin and others,
छत्राकारं भवेद्राज्यं वर्तुले च महाश्रियः
A form like an umbrella brings sovereignty, and in the round one, great prosperity.
विकृतास्ये च दारिद्र्यं पिङ्गले हानिरेव च 2.21.
If the mouth is deformed, there is poverty; in a tawny one, there is indeed loss.
व्रतं दानं प्रतिष्ठा च श्राद्धं च देवपूजनम्
Vows, charity, installation, ancestral rites, and worship of the gods—
स स्नातः सर्वतीर्थेषु सर्वयज्ञेषु दीक्षितः
He is as if bathed in all sacred waters, and initiated in all sacrifices.
सर्वदानेषु यत्पुण्यं प्रादक्षिण्ये भुवो यथा
Whatever merit is gained from all gifts, or by circumambulating the earth,
तस्य स्पर्शं च वाञ्छन्ति तीर्थानि निखिलानि च
All the sacred places, indeed, desire his touch.
पाठे चतुर्णां वेदानां तपसां करणे सति
In the recitation of the four Vedas, and in the performance of austerities,
शालग्रामशिलातोयं नित्यं भुङ्क्ते च यो नरः
Whoever daily partakes of water from the Śālagrāma stone,
तस्य स्पर्शं च वाञ्छन्ति तीर्थानि निखि लानि च
All the sacred places, indeed, desire his touch.
तत्रैव हरिणा सार्द्धमसंख्यं प्राकृतं लयम्
There, along with Hari, the countless ordinary ones attain dissolution.

तत्पादपद्मरजसा सद्यः पूता वसुन्धरा 2.21.
By the dust of his lotus feet, the earth is instantly purified.

निर्वाणमुक्तिं लभते कर्मभोगाद्विमुच्यते
He attains liberation and release, freed from the results of actions.
शालग्रामशिलां धृत्वा मिथ्यावादं वदेत्तु यः
Whoever, having taken up the Śālagrāma stone, speaks falsehood,
शालग्रामशिलां स्पृष्ट्वा स्वीकारं यो न पालयेत्
Whoever, having touched the Śālagrāma stone, does not fulfill an accepted vow,
तुलसीपत्र विच्छेदं शालग्रामे करोति यः
Whoever cuts Tulasi leaves upon the Śālagrāma stone,
तुलसीपत्रविच्छेदं शंखे यो हि करोति च
And whoever cuts Tulasi leaves upon a conch shell,
