पार्वत्युवाच एकाऽहं राधिकारूपा गोलोके रासमण्डले । रासशून्यं च गोलोकं परिपूर्ण कुरु प्रभो
Parvati said: I alone am Radha's form in Goloka, in the circle of the rasa dance; O Lord, make Goloka, which is empty of rasa, completely full.
गच्छ त्वं रथमारुह्य मुक्तामाणिक्यभूषितम् । परिबूर्णतमाऽहं च तव वङः स्थलस्थिता
Go, ascend the chariot adorned with pearls and jewels; I am the most complete, standing in your forest land.
तवाऽऽज्ञया महालक्ष्मीरहं वैकुण्ठगामिनी । सरस्वती च तत्रैव वामे पार्श्वे हरेरपि
By your command, I am Mahalakshmi, who goes to Vaikuntha; and Sarasvati also, who stands at the left side of Hari there.
तवाहं मनसा जाता सिन्धुकन्या तवाऽऽज्ञया । सावित्री वेदमाताऽहं कलया विधिसंनिधौ
By your will, I was born in your mind as the daughter of the ocean; I am Savitri, the mother of the Vedas, present in part at the side of Brahma.
तैजःसु सर्वदेवानां पुरा सत्ये तवाऽऽज्ञया । अधिष्ठानं कृत तत्र धृतं देव्या शरीरकम्
In the golden forms of all the gods, formerly in the Satya age, by your command, the embodiment of the goddess was established and sustained there.
शुम्भादयश्च दैत्याश्च निहताश्चावलीलया । दुर्ग निहत्य तुर्गाऽहं त्रिपुरा त्रिपुरे वधे
The demons beginning with Shumbha were easily slain; as Durga I destroyed them, and as Turga I killed Tripura in the destruction of Tripura.
निहत्य रक्तबीजं च रक्तबीजविनाशिनी । तवाऽऽज्ञया दक्षकन्या सती सत्यस्वरूपिणी
Having slain Raktabija, I am the destroyer of Raktabija; by your command, I was Sati, Daksha's daughter, the embodiment of truth.
योगेन त्यक्त्वा देहं च शैलजाऽहं तवाऽऽज्ञया । त्वया दत्तवा (त्ताः शंकराय गोलोके रासमण्डले
Through yoga, having abandoned my body, I became Shailaja by your command; you gave me to Shankara in Goloka, in the circle of the rasa dance.
विष्णुभक्तिरहं तेन विष्णुमाया च वैष्णवी । नारायणस्य मायाऽहं तेन नारायणी स्मृता
I am devotion to Vishnu, and thus I am Vishnumaya, the Vaishnavi; I am the maya of Narayana, and thus I am called Narayani.
कृष्णप्राणाधिकाऽहं च प्राणाधिष्ठातृदेवता । महाविष्णोश्च वासोश्च जननी राधिका स्वयम्
I am dearer to Krishna than life itself, the presiding goddess of life; and I, Radhika, am the very mother of the abode of Mahavishnu.
तवाऽऽज्ञया पञ्चधाऽहं पञ्चप्रकृतिरूपिणी । कलाकलांशयाऽहं च देवपत्नयो गृहे गृहे
By your command, I am fivefold, taking the forms of the five primal natures; by portions and parts, I am the wife of each god in every house.
शीघ्रं गच्छ महाभाग तत्राऽहं विरहातुरा । गोवीभिः सहिता रासं भ्रमन्ती परितः सदा
Go quickly, O greatly fortunate one; there I am tormented by separation, always wandering in the rasa dance with the cows.
पार्वतीवचनं श्रुत्वा प्रहस्य रसिकेश्वरः । रत्नयानं समारुह्य ययौ गोलोकमुत्तमम्
Hearing Parvati's words, the Lord of rasa smiled; mounting the jeweled chariot, he went to the supreme Goloka.
पार्वती बोधयामास स्वयं देवगणं तथा । मायावंशीरवाच्छन्नं विष्णुमाया सनातनी
Parvati herself instructed the assembly of gods; the eternal Vishnumaya, concealed by the lineage of Maya.
कृत्वा ते हरिशब्दं च स्वगृहं विस्मयं ययुः । शिवेन सार्धं दुर्गा सा प्रहृष्टा स्वपुरं ययौ
Having uttered the name of Hari, they returned to their own homes in wonder; Durga, delighted, went to her own city together with Shiva.
अथ कृष्णं समायान्तं राधा गोपीगणैः सह । अनुव्रजं ययौ हृष्टा सर्वज्ञा प्राणवल्लभम्
Then Radha, accompanied by the groups of gopis, joyfully followed Krishna, the all-knowing, her beloved.
दृष्ट्वा समीपमायान्तमवरुह्य रथात्सती । प्रणनाम जगन्नाथं सिरसा सखिभिः सह
Seeing him approaching, Sati descended from the chariot and, together with her companions, bowed her head to the Lord of the universe.
गोपा गोप्यश्च मुदिताः प्रफुल्लवदनेक्षणाः । दुंदुभिं वादयामासुरीश्वरागमनोत्सुकाः
The cowherds and cowherdesses, joyful and with radiant faces, began to play the drums, eager for the Lord's arrival.
विरजां च समुत्तीर्य दृष्ट्वा राधां जगत्पतिः । अवरुह्य रथात्तूर्णं गृहीत्वा राधिकाकरम्
Crossing the Viraja, the Lord of the world, seeing Radha, swiftly descended from the chariot and took Radhika's hand.
शतशृङ्गं च बभ्राम सुरम्यं रासमण्डलम् । दृष्ट्वाऽक्षयवटं पुण्यं पुण्यं वृन्दावनं ययौ
He wandered with a hundred horns in the beautiful circle of the rasa dance; seeing the blessed Akshayavata, he went to the sacred Vrindavana.
तुलसीकाननं दृष्ट्वा प्रययौ मालतीवनम् । वामे कृत्वा कुन्दवनं माधवीकाननं तथा
Having seen the grove of tulasī, he went to the jasmine forest; placing the grove of kunda to his left, and likewise the grove of mādhavī.
चकार दक्षिणे कृष्णश्चम्पकारण्यमीप्सिनम् । चकार पश्चात्तूर्णं च चारुचन्दनकाननम्
Kṛṣṇa made the delightful grove of campaka to his right; and swiftly behind, he created a charming sandalwood forest.
ददर्श पुरतो रम्यं राधिकाभवनं परम् । उवास राधया सार्धं रत्नसिंहासने वरे
He saw before him the splendid house of Rādhikā; and there, upon the excellent jeweled throne, he dwelled together with Rādhā.
सकर्पूरं च ताम्बूलं बुभुजे वासितं जलम् । सुष्वाप पुष्पतल्पे च सुगन्धिचन्दनार्चिते
He enjoyed betel leaves with camphor and fragrant water; and slept well upon a flower-strewn bed, adorned with fragrant sandalwood.
स रेमे रामया सार्धं निमग्नो रससागरे । इत्येवं कथितं सर्वं धर्मवक्त्राच्च यच्छ्रुतम्
Immersed in the ocean of delight, he sported with Rādhā; thus, all has been told as heard from the mouth of Dharma.
गोलोकारोहणं रम्यं किं भूयः श्रोतुमिच्छसि
This lovely ascent to Goloka—what more do you wish to hear?
इति श्रीब्रह्मo महाo श्रीकृष्णजन्मखo उत्तo नारदनाo गोलोकारोहणं नामैकोनत्रिंशदधिकशततमोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the one hundred twenty-ninth chapter, named 'The Ascent to Goloka,' from the great Brahma-vaivarta Purāṇa, in the section concerning the birth of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, as spoken by Nārada.
अथ त्रिंशदधिकशततमोऽध्यायः नारद उवाच सर्वं श्रुतं महाभाग नारशेषमभीप्सितम् । किमपूर्व पुराणं च ब्रह्मवैवर्तमिष्टदम्
Now, the one hundred thirtieth chapter. Nārada said: All has been heard, O greatly fortunate one, and nothing remains desired; what unprecedented, wish-fulfilling Purāṇa is this Brahma-vaivarta!
अधुना किं करिष्यामि तन्मां ब्रूहि जगद्गुरो । आज्ञां कुरु तपस्यां च कर्तु यामि हिमालयम्
Now, what should I do? Tell me, O Teacher of the world; command me, and I will go to the Himālayas to perform austerities.
नारायण उवाच उवबर्हणगन्धर्दः पञ्चशत्कामिनीपतिः । जन्मान्तरे भवानासीदधुना ब्रह्मपुत्रकः
Nārāyaṇa said: In a previous birth you were Uvabarhaṇa, king of the Gandharvas and lord of fifty women; now you are the son of Brahmā.
