त्वयैव पूजितः पुत्रो न मया च गणेश्वरः । सर्वादौ सर्वपूज्योऽयं यथा तव तथा मम
O Lord of the Ganas, you alone have worshipped the son, not I; yet he is to be worshipped by all, at all times, just as by you, so also by me.
यावज्जीवनपर्यन्तं न विच्छेदो भविष्यति । राधामाधवयोर्देवि दुग्धधावल्ययोर्यथा
For as long as life endures, there will be no separation between Radha and Madhava, O Devi, just as with the two streams of milk.
सिद्धाश्रमे महातीर्थे पुण्यक्षेत्रे च भारते । निर्वघ्नं लभगोविन्दं संपूज्य विघ्नखण्डनम्
At Siddhashrama, the great holy place, and in the sacred land of Bharata, one attains Govinda without hindrance by worshipping the remover of obstacles.
रासेश्वरी त्वं रसिका श्रीकृष्णो रसिकेश्वरः । विदग्धाया विदग्धेन संगमो गुणवान्भदेत्
You are the mistress of rasa, and Krishna is the lord of rasa; the union of the clever with the clever is truly virtuous.
श्रीदाम्नः शापनिर्मुक्ता शतवर्षान्तरे सति । कुरुष्व मद्रेणाद्य कृष्णेन सह संगमम्
Freed from the curse of Sridama, after a hundred years have passed, unite today with Krishna, by my command.
ममाऽऽज्ञया दुर्लभया सुवेषं कुरु सुन्दरि । सुदुर्लभः कामिनीनां सत्पुंसा सह संगमः
By my rare command, O beautiful one, adorn yourself splendidly; the union of a virtuous man with a woman is exceedingly rare.
चक्रुः सुवेषं राधायाः प्रियाल्यश्च शिवाज्ञया । रत्नसिंहासने रम्ये वासयामासुरीश्वरीम्
Radha's dear friends, by Shiva's command, adorned her beautifully and seated the goddess upon a lovely jeweled throne.
पुरतो रत्नमाला सा रत्नमालां गले ददौ । राधाया दक्षिणे हस्ते क्रीडापद्मं मनोहरम्
In front of her, Ratnamala placed a jeweled garland around her neck, and in Radha's right hand, a charming lotus for play.
ददौ पद्ममुखी पादपद्मयुग्मेऽप्यलक्तकम् । प्रददौ सुन्दरी गोपी सिन्दूरं सुन्दरं वरम्
Padmamukhi gave red dye to Radha's pair of lotus feet, and the beautiful Gopi bestowed fine, auspicious vermilion.
चन्दनेन समयुतं सीमन्ताधः स्थलोज्ज्वलम् । सुचारुकबरीं रम्यां चकार मालती सती
With sandalwood, she made a bright line beneath the parting of her hair, and Sati fashioned her lovely, charming braid with jasmine flowers.
मनोहरां मुनीनां च मालतीमाल्यभूषिताम् । कस्तूरीकुङ्कुमाक्तं च चारुचन्दनपत्रकम्
She adorned her with a delightful garland of jasmine, pleasing to the sages, and with a beautiful sandalwood leaf scented with musk and saffron.
स्तनयुग्मे सुकठिने चकार चन्दना सती । चारुचम्पकपुप्पाणां मालां गन्धमनोहराम्
Sati applied sandalwood to her firm pair of breasts, and made a fragrant, charming garland of lovely champaka flowers.
मालावती ददौ तस्यौ प्रफुल्लां नवमल्लिकाम् । रतीषु रसिका गोपी रत्नभूषणभूषिताम्
Malavati gave her a fresh, blossoming jasmine garland; the Gopi, skilled in love, adorned her with jeweled ornaments.
तां चकारातिरसिकां वरां रतिरसोत्सुकाम् । शरत्पद्मदलाभं च लोजनं कज्जलोज्ज्वलम्
They made her most skilled in love, eager for the delights of passion, and her eyes shone with collyrium, resembling autumn lotus petals.
कृत्वा ददौ सुललितं वस्त्रं च ललिता सती । महेन्द्रेण प्रदत्तं च पारिजातप्रसूनकम्
Lalita, having dressed her in a graceful garment, gave her a parijata flower, which had been given by Mahendra.
सुगन्धियुक्तं तस्याश्च पारिजातं करे ददौ । सुशीलं मधुरोक्तं च भर्तुः पार्श्वे यथोचितम्
She placed the fragrant parijata in her hand, and, with gentle and sweet words, seated her properly at her husband's side.
शिक्षां चकार नीतिं च सुशीला गोपिका सती । स्त्रीणां च षोडशकलां विपत्तौ विस्मृतांतयोः
The virtuous and chaste Gopikā instructed in proper conduct and ethics, and in adversity, she recalled the sixteen arts of women that are often forgotten.
स्मरणं कारयामास राधामाता कलावती । श्रृङ्गारविषयोक्तं च वचनं च सुधोपमम्
Rādhā’s mother, Kalāvatī, caused her to remember, and spoke words as sweet as nectar, filled with the subject of love.
स्मरणं कारयामास भगिनी च सुधामुखी । कमलानां चम्पकानां दले चन्दनचर्चिते
Her sister Sudhāmukhī also caused her to remember, amidst petals of lotuses and campaka flowers, anointed with sandalwood.
चकार रतितल्पं च कमला चाऽऽशु कोमलम् । चारुचम्पकपुष्पं च कृष्णार्थं पुटकस्थितम्
Kamalā quickly prepared a soft bed for love-play, and placed beautiful campaka flowers in a basket for Kṛṣṇa.
चकार चन्दनाक्तं च स्वयं च पार्वती सती । पुष्पं केलिकदम्बानां स्तबकं च मनोहरम्
Pārvatī herself, chaste and pure, prepared flowers anointed with sandalwood, and a charming cluster of kadamba blossoms for play.
कदम्बमालां कृष्णार्थ विद्यमानां चकार सा । ताम्बूलं च वरं सम्यं कर्पूरादिसुवासितम्
She made a garland of kadamba flowers for Kṛṣṇa, and prepared excellent betel leaves, properly scented with camphor and other fragrances.
कृष्णप्रिया च कृष्णार्थं चकार वासितं जलम् । एतस्मिन्नन्तरे सर्वमाश्रमं सजलस्थलम्
Kṛṣṇa’s beloved prepared perfumed water for Kṛṣṇa; meanwhile, the entire hermitage became moist and fresh.
साक्षाद्गोरोचनाभं च ददृशुर्मुनयः सुराः । ते सर्वे विस्मयं गत्वा पप्रच्छुः कृष्णमीश्वरम्
The sages and gods saw the place shining like pure gorocanā; all of them, filled with wonder, questioned Kṛṣṇa, the Lord.
उवाच भगवांस्ताश्च सर्वज्ञः सर्वकाराणा
The Blessed Lord, the all-knowing, the cause of all, spoke to them.
श्रीभगवानुवाच अभिशप्ता च श्रीदाम्ना भ्रष्टशोभा राधिका । सर्वं ज्ञानं विसस्मार मद्विच्छेदज्वरातुरा
The Blessed Lord said: Cursed by Śrīdāmā, Rādhikā lost her radiance; afflicted by the fever of separation from me, she forgot all knowledge.
विमुक्ते वर्षशतके ज्ञानं सस्मार सा सती । सिद्धाश्रमं च पीताभं रासेश्वर्याश्च तेजसा
When a hundred years had passed in release, that chaste one remembered her knowledge, and the hermitage shone with the golden radiance of the Queen of the Rāsa.
परमाह्लादकं तेजश्चन्द्रकोटिसमप्रभम् । सुखदृश्यं च सुखदं चक्षुधां प्राणिनामपि
That supreme, blissful radiance, equal to ten million moons, delightful to see and bestowing happiness even to the eyes of living beings.
तच्छ्रुत्वा परमाश्चर्यं मुनयो मनवस्तथा । देव्यश्च सर्वदेवास्ते ब्रह्मेशानादयस्तथा
Hearing of this most wondrous event, the sages, Manus, all the goddesses, all the gods, and even Brahmā and Śiva were amazed.
जवेन गत्वा तत्स्थानं भक्तिनम्रात्मकंधरा । सर्वे जनास्ते ददृशुस्त्रैलोक्यस्थाश्च राधिकाम्
Swiftly they went to that place, their heads bowed in devotion, and all the people there, as well as those in the three worlds, beheld Rādhikā.
