गचेन्द्रकोटितुल्याभिर्बलिष्ठाभिः सहाऽऽलिभिः । आययौ सुन्दरी राधा कृष्णप्राणाधिदेवता
Radiant as countless Indras, accompanied by powerful companions, the beautiful Radha arrived, the supreme goddess of Krishna’s very life.
रासेश्वरी सुरसिका शतवर्षे गते सति । सुस्नाता मुदती शुद्धा धृत्वा धौते च वाससी
The mistress of the rasa, delight of the gods, after a hundred years had passed, bathed well, was joyful and pure, and put on freshly washed garments.
संयता सा निराहारा गत्वा च मणिमण्डपम् । सुप्रक्षालितपादाब्जा कान्ता भुवनपावनी
Self-restrained and fasting, she went to the jeweled pavilion; her lotus feet thoroughly cleansed, she shone, the beloved who purifies the worlds.
श्रीकृष्णप्रीतिकामाऽथ सुसंकल्पं विधाय च । गङ्गोदकेन हेरम्बं स्नापयामास भक्तितः
Desiring the pleasure of Sri Krishna, she made a firm resolve and, with devotion, bathed Heramba (Ganesha) with water from the Ganga.
ध्यार्न च सामवेदोक्तं चकार शुक्लपुष्पतः । माता चतुर्णां वेदानां वसोश्च जगतामपि
She performed meditation as taught in the Sama Veda, using white flowers; the mother of the four Vedas, of Vasu, and of all the worlds.
बुद्धिरूपा भगवती ज्ञानिनां जननी परा । ध्यानात्मकं स्वपुस्रं तं परं ध्यानं चकार सा
The blessed goddess, embodiment of wisdom, supreme mother of the wise, performed supreme meditation on her own son, who is of the nature of meditation.
शर्वं लम्बोदरं स्थूलं ज्वलन्तं ब्रह्मतेजसा । गजवक्त्रं वह्निवर्णमेकदन्तमनन्तकम्
She meditated on Sharva, Lambodara, vast and shining with the radiance of Brahman, elephant-faced, fire-colored, single-tusked, and endless.
सिद्धानां योगिनामेव ज्ञानिनां च गुरोर्गुरुम् । ध्यातं मुनीन्द्रैर्देवेन्द्रैर्ब्रह्मेशशेषसंज्ञकैः
He is the guru of the siddhas, yogis, and the wise—the guru of gurus; meditated upon by the chief sages, the lord of gods, and those known as Brahma, Ishvara, and Shesha.
सिद्धेन्द्रैर्मुनिभिः सद्भिर्भगवन्तं सनातनम् । ब्रह्मस्वरूपं परमं मङ्गलं मङ्गलालयम्
By the best of siddhas and sages, by the virtuous, the eternal Lord is meditated upon, the supreme form of Brahman, the highest auspiciousness, the abode of all good.
सर्वविघ्नहरं शान्तं दातारं सर्वसंपदाम् । भवाब्धिमायापोतेन कर्णधारं च कर्मिणाम्
He removes all obstacles, is peaceful, the giver of all prosperity, and the helmsman who ferries the doers of action across the ocean of worldly existence by the boat of maya.
शरणागतदीनार्तपरित्राणपरायणम् । ध्यायेद्ध्यानात्मकं साध्यं भक्तेशं भक्तवत्सलम्
He is devoted to rescuing those who are distressed, destitute, and who have taken refuge; one should meditate on him, the lord of devotion, who is attainable through meditation and loves his devotees.
इति ध्यात्वा स्वशिरसि दत्त्वा पुष्पं पुनः सती । सर्वाङ्गशोधनं न्यासं वेदोक्तं च चकार सा
Having meditated thus, and placing a flower upon her own head, she then performed the purification of all limbs and the Vedic nyasa as prescribed.
पुनश्च ध्यात्वा ध्यानेन तेनैव शुभदायिना । ददौ पुष्पं पादपद्मे राधा लम्बोदरस्य च
Again, meditating with that same auspicious contemplation, Radha offered a flower at the lotus feet of Lambodara.
सप्ततीर्थोदकेनैव शीतेन वासितेन च । ददौ पाद्यं पादपद्मे तैः पद्मादिभिरर्चिते
With water from seventy sacred places, cool and fragrant, she offered foot-washing at the lotus feet, which were worshipped with lotuses and other flowers.
दूर्वाक्षतैः शुक्लपुष्पैः सुगन्धिचन्दनोदकैः । अर्घ्यं ददौ तच्छिरसि स्वयं गोलोकवासिनी
With blades of durva grass, unbroken rice, white flowers, and fragrant sandalwood water, she offered arghya upon his head—she, the resident of Goloka, herself.
सचन्दनं स्ग्धिमाल्यं पारिजातस्य सुन्दरम् । ददौ गले गणेशस्य स्वयं रासंश्वरी मुदा
With sandalwood paste, beautiful garlands, and the lovely parijata flower, the mistress of the rasa, with joy, herself placed them on Ganesha’s neck.
कस्तूरीकुङ्कुमाक्तं च सुगन्धि स्निग्धचन्दनम् । सर्वाङ्गे प्रददौ तस्य वृन्दावनविनोदिनी
Vṛndāvanavinodinī applied fragrant, smooth sandalwood, mixed with musk and saffron, to his entire body.
सुगन्धि शुक्लं पुष्पं च सुगन्ध चन्दनार्चितम् । ददौ तस्य पदाम्भोजे महापद्मलया सती
Mahāpadmalayā Satī offered fragrant white flowers, adorned with scented sandalwood, to his lotus feet.
सुगन्धियुक्तं धूपं च पूतैर्वस्तुभिरन्वितम् । ददौ कृष्णप्रिया तस्मै जगतामीश्वराय च
Kṛṣṇa's beloved, the ruler of the worlds, presented him with incense infused with fragrance, accompanied by pure substances.
दीपं घृतप्रदीप्तं च ध्वान्तविध्वंसकारणम् । ददौ तस्मै सुरेशाय परमाद्या सनातनी
The eternal, supreme goddess gave him a lamp lit with ghee, intended to dispel darkness.
नैवेद्य विविधं रम्यं सुस्वादु सुमनोहरम् । चोष्यं चर्व्यं लेह्यपेये सुधातुल्यं चतुर्विधम्
She offered a variety of delightful, delicious, and captivating foods—those to be sucked, chewed, licked, and drunk, four kinds, comparable to nectar.
फलानि च सुपक्वानि त्रैलोक्ये दुर्लभानि च । मधुराणि च मूलानि ग्राम्यारण्यानि नारद
O Nārada, she gave perfectly ripe fruits, rare in the three worlds, as well as sweet roots from village and forest.
तानि त्वन्यान्यसंख्यानि तिलानां लड्डुकानि च । लड्डुकानि सुपक्वानि स्वादूनि सुरसानि च
She also gave countless other items, including sesame sweets—well-cooked, tasty, and flavorful balls.
यवगोधूमचूर्णानां पक्वानि पिष्टकानि च । घृताक्तानि च रम्याणि शर्करासहितानि च
She offered cakes made from barley and wheat flour, cooked and delightful, coated with ghee and mixed with sugar.
स्वास्तिकानां लड्डुकानि स्थूलानि सुन्दराणि च । भृष्टद्रव्यं च विविधमक्षतं शर्करान्वितम्
She presented large, beautiful balls of auspicious sweets, as well as various roasted, unbroken items combined with sugar.
घृतकुल्यां दुग्धकुलयां मधुकुल्यं मनोहराम् । गुडस्य दध्नः कुल्यां च पायसानां तथैव च
She gave charming sweets made from ghee, milk, honey, jaggery, curd, and also rice pudding.
पिष्टकानां स्वस्तिकानां रम्भाणां राशिरेव च । मिष्टव्यञ्जनयुक्तानि शाल्यन्नानि शुभानि च
She offered heaps of cakes, auspicious sweets, and bananas, along with rice dishes prepared with sweet condiments.
ददौ तस्मै सुरेशाय कृष्णप्राणाधिदेवता । अमूल्यरत्ननिर्माणं रम्यं सिंहासनं वरम्
The goddess, whose life is devoted to Kṛṣṇa, gave the lord of the gods a splendid throne, crafted from priceless jewels.
ददौ विघ्नपिनाशाय विराजतटवासिनी । सूक्ष्मवस्त्रयुगं रम्यममूल्यं वह्निशुद्धकम्
The goddess residing in the radiant grove gave to the remover of obstacles a beautiful pair of fine garments, priceless and purified by fire.
ददौ शैलात्मजायैव शतशृङ्गनिवासिनी । विशुद्धसर्पिषा युक्तं निर्मलं मधुरं मधु
The goddess dwelling on the hundred-peaked mountain gave to the daughter of the mountain pure, sweet honey mixed with clarified butter.
