As long as there is no worship or sight of your lotus feet—O Lord, time of time, God, creator, destroyer, ruler—
Show mercy, O Lord of compassion, cutter of the delusion of Māyā. Having spoken thus, with tearful eyes, she took Hari on her lap again and lovingly nursed him at her breast, as Devakī did.
Śrī Kṛṣṇa said: Mother, how do you praise me, a child with milk on my lips, your son? Go at once to Goloka, your desired place, together with your husband.
Abandoning the natural, false, perishable body, assume a pure form, free from birth, death, and old age.
Having spoken thus, and recited the four Vedas as taught by the best of sages, with supreme devotion for a month, she gave her previously dead son.
Three hundred thousand jewels, five hundred thousand gems, four hundred thousand diamonds, and five hundred thousand pearls.
Two hundred thousand rubies, cloth rare even in the three worlds, a necklace given by Durgā, and jeweled rings for the fingers.
He gave as dakṣiṇā to the guru one hundred million pieces of gold, ornaments made of priceless jewels, and all kinds of women's adornments.
He gave to the guru's beloved wife a garment purified by fire, and the sage, together with his wife, gave all that to his son.
Mounting a chariot adorned with precious gems, he went to the supreme Goloka; having seen that wondrous Hari, he joyfully returned to his own abode.
O Nārada, listen to the deeds of the god devoted to Brahman; whoever recites this most auspicious hymn with devotion—
—undoubtedly attains unwavering devotion to Śrī Kṛṣṇa; one of unclear reputation gains good fame, and a fool becomes learned.
Having attained happiness in this world, at the end one reaches the abode of Śrī Hari; there, one certainly attains eternal service to Hari—of this there is no doubt.
Thus ends the one hundred and second chapter, entitled 'The Hymn of the Wives of the Sages to Śrī Kṛṣṇa's Birth,' in the great Brahma section.
Chapter one hundred and third. Nārāyaṇa said: Then, having arrived at Mathurā, the Lord bowed to his father; with his brother, beneath a banyan tree, Hari remembered Garuḍa.
With respect, he summoned the ocean and Viśvakarmā as desired; he abandoned his cowherd form and assumed the form of a king.
Meanwhile, the discus itself approached Hari—supreme Sudarśana by name, shining like ten million suns.
Equal in radiance to Hari, supreme crusher of enemies, the foremost and highest of weapons, unfailing among all weapons.
Garuḍa, placing the jewel-encrusted vehicle before him, approached Hari; Viśvakarmā with his disciples, and the ocean, trembling, likewise came.
All of them bowed to Hari with devotion, touching their heads to the ground; smiling, the Lord respectfully addressed them in turn.
Śrī Kṛṣṇa said: O great ocean, grant me a land a hundred yojanas wide for the sake of a city; I will surely return it to you afterwards.
O architect, build a city that is rare in all three worlds, delightful to all, and enchanting to women.
Also, let it fulfill the desires of devotees, supreme like Vaikuṇṭha, and surpassing all heavens, the ultimate shore sought by all.
O best of birds, remain day and night in the presence of Viśvakarmā, O great one, until Dvārakā is constructed.
O best of discs, remain day and night at my side; having spoken thus with 'Om,' all departed, O sage, except for the discus.
He made Ugrasena, the mighty and virtuous father of Kaṃsa, king in the city, even among the noble Kṣatriyas.
Having conquered Jarāsandha and slain the Yavana, the Lord, O great one, by strategy, began the process of construction.
The Blessed Lord said: The city, extending a hundred yojanas, most enchanting, adorned with the finest rubies, emeralds, and sapphires—
With Rucaka, Paribhadra, Palaṅka, and Syamantaka gems, as well as Gandhaka and Gālima stones, and also with Candrakānta and others,
And with Sūryakānta and similar gems, and crystal-like gems shaped like sons, with green and dark stones, and those with fair faces,
