कलावती वृष्भानः कौतुकात् कन्यया सह । जीवन्मुक्तश्च गोलोकं गमिष्यति न संशयः
Kalāvatī and Vṛṣabhāna, together with their daughter, out of delight, will attain Goloka while still living—of this there is no doubt.
धन्या च सीत्या सार्धं वैकुण्ठं च गमिष्यति । मेनका योगिनी सिद्धा पार्वत्याश्च वरेण च
Dhanyā, together with Sītā, will go to Vaikuṇṭha; Menakā, the accomplished yoginī, will do so by the boon of Pārvatī.
कल्पान्ते विष्णुलोके च लक्ष्मीवन्मोदते चिरम् । विना विपत्त्या महिमा केषां कुत्र भविष्यति
At the end of the kalpa, in Viṣṇu’s world, Lakṣmī will rejoice for a long time; without adversity, where can greatness arise for anyone?
कर्मणा च गते दुःखे प्रभवेद्दुर्लभं सुखम् । पुरा पितणां कन्याश्च स्वर्मभोगविलासिकाः
When suffering is ended by karma, rare happiness arises; formerly, the daughters of the fathers delighted in the pleasures of heaven.
लक्ष्मीसमा वरेणापि विप्रस्य विष्णुदर्शनात् । कर्मक्षयं चाप्यस्माकं बभूव विष्णुदर्शनात्
Even by a boon, none can equal Lakṣmī, but by seeing Viṣṇu, the sage’s karma was destroyed, and so was ours, by seeing Viṣṇu.
पुण्ये तेन तीव्रेण कुमारस्यापि दर्शनम् । श्रुतं तत्र कुमारास्याज्ज्ञानं परमदुर्लभम्
By that intense merit, we also saw Kumāra; there, we heard from Kumāra the most rare and supreme knowledge.
ब्रह्मविष्णुशिवादीनां सिद्धानां जगतामपि । ईश्वरः परमात्मा च श्रीकृष्णः प्रकृतेः परः निर्गुणश्च निरीहश्च परः स्वेच्छामयो वरः
Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Self, Lord of Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Śiva, and all the perfected beings and worlds, is beyond nature, without qualities, without desire, supreme, and acts according to his own will.
तुलस्युवाच सर्वप्राणिषु देवाश्च तिष्ठन्त्येव पृथक्पृथक् । प्राणो विष्णुश्च विषयी मनो ब्रह्मा च चेतना
Tulasi said: The gods dwell separately in all beings; prāṇa is Viṣṇu, the mind is Brahmā, and consciousness is their domain.
प्रकृतिर्बुद्धिरूपा च सर्वशक्त्यधिदेवता । ज्ञानस्वरूपः शंभुश्च स्वयं धर्मश्च पूरुषः
Prakriti is of the nature of intellect and is the presiding deity of all powers; Shiva is of the nature of knowledge, and Dharma is the very personification of Purusha.
निर्गुणः परमात्मा च तद्ब्रह्म प्रकृतेः परम् । स एव कृष्णः साक्षी च कर्मणां जीविनामपि
The Supreme Self is beyond qualities, that Brahman is higher than Prakriti; that very Krishna is the witness even of the actions of living beings.
भोक्ता च सुखदुःखानां जीवस्तत्प्रतिबिम्बकः । चक्षुषोश्चन्द्रसूर्यौ च जिह्वायां च सरस्वती
He is also the enjoyer of pleasures and pains; the soul is his reflection; the moon and sun are the eyes, and Sarasvati is in the tongue.
वसुंधरा त्वचि सदा बाह्वोस्ते लोकपालकाः । आत्मनश्चापि ते सर्पे परिचारकरूपिणः
The earth is always in the skin, the guardians of the worlds are in the arms and hands, and the serpents are the attendants of your very self.
आत्मन्येव प्रियास्ते च सर्वे गच्छन्ति जीविनः । यथा संसदि संसारे नरदेह(व) मिवानुगाः
All living beings, dear to you, enter into your very self, just as in the world, followers accompany a human body in an assembly.
तस्मात्सर्वात्मनाऽऽत्मानं भजन्ति संततं सदा । सन्तश्च परया भक्त्या ध्यायन्ते योगिनो मुदा
Therefore, the wise always worship the Self with all their being; and yogis meditate with supreme devotion and joy.
कर्मिणां कर्मणां साक्षी कुतः कर्म च गोपनम् । अन्तर्यामी च कृष्णश्च प्रचारं कुरुते मुदा
Krishna is the witness of the actions of those who act; how can actions be concealed? As the inner controller, Krishna joyfully directs their course.
कालिकोवाच नरा बालाश्च वृद्धाश्च युवानस्त्रिविधास्तथा । देवादयश्च चे सिद्धाः सर्वे जानन्ति तं परम्
Kālī said: Men, children, the aged, and the young—these three types, as well as the gods and the perfected beings—all know that Supreme One.
उद्धव उवाच सांप्रतं मूर्च्छितां राधां युक्तो बोधयितुं बुधः । अत्र युक्तिः प्रधाना त्वं तां प्रबोधय चोद्धव
Uddhava said: Now, the wise one is intent on awakening the unconscious Rādhā; in this matter, you are the chief authority—therefore, awaken her, O Uddhava.
चेतनं कुरु कल्याणि जगन्मातर्निबोध माम् । उद्भवं कृष्णभक्तस्य किंकरस्यापि किंकरम्
Make her conscious, O auspicious one, Mother of the world, listen to me; I am the servant of Krishna's devotee, and even the servant of his servant.
प्रसादं कुरु मातर्मां यास्यामि मथुरां पुनः । न स्वतन्त्रः पराधीनो योषा दारुमयी यथा
Mother, show me your grace; I will go again to Mathurā. One who is not independent, but under another's control, is like a wooden doll.
यथा वृषो वशीभूतो वृषवाहस्य संततम् । तथा मातर्जगत्सर्वं जगन्नाथस्य निश्चितम्
Just as a bull is always controlled by the bull-driver, so, Mother, the entire world is certainly under the control of the Lord of the universe.
अथ पञ्चनवतितमोऽध्यायः नारायण उवाच उद्धवस्य वचः श्रुत्वा चेतनं प्राप्य राधिका । सा चोवाच समुत्थाय रत्नसिंहासने वरे
Then, the ninety-fifth chapter. Nārāyaṇa said: Hearing Uddhava's words, Rādhikā regained consciousness, and rising, she spoke while seated on the excellent jeweled throne.
उवाच मधुरं देवी हृदयेन विदूयता । गोपीभिः सप्तभिर्भकत्या सेविता श्वेतचामरैः
The goddess spoke sweetly, though her heart was afflicted, attended by seven gopīs serving with white chowries.
राधिकोवाच मथुरां गच्छवत्स त्वं मांच (न) विस्मर संवदा । अतोऽप्यधर्मो नास्त्येव भवतो भवसागरे
Rādhikā said: Go to Mathurā, dear one, and do not forget me—keep in touch. There is no greater unrighteousness for you in this ocean of existence.
मदीयं वचनं सर्वं गत्वा कथय सांप्रतम् । श्रीकृष्णं परमानन्दं शीघ्रमानय मत्प्रभुम्
Go now and tell all my words to Śrī Krishna, the Supreme Bliss; quickly bring my Lord to me.
योषिज्जन्मनि योषित्सु संप्राप्य तादृशं पतिम् । भेदो बभूव कस्या वा मदन्या काऽपि दुःखिनी
Having obtained such a husband in a woman's birth among women, who else but me has experienced such separation or is as sorrowful?
किं ददासि प्रबोधं मे नास्ति मे बोधनोचितम् । निष्फलो देहिनां देहो विनाऽऽत्मानं सहोद्धव
Why do you give me instruction? I am not fit for awakening; the body of the embodied is useless without the Self, O Uddhava.
संप्रीत्या सह सौभाग्यं गौरवं नित्यनूतनम् । अतीव दुर्लभं प्रेम रहस्यं नवसंगमम्
With joyful affection, there is fortune, honor, ever-fresh and new; exceedingly rare is love, its secret, and the thrill of new union.
स्मरामि मनसा शश्वन्नान्यो मनसि वर्तते । रात्रौ निद्रां परित्यज्य स्मरणं शोकवर्धनम्
I remember him always in my mind; no other dwells within my heart. At night, forsaking sleep, remembrance only increases my sorrow.
मामुद्धर ध्रुवं वत्स निमग्नां शोकसागरे । जीवाभवप्रदानेन तीर्थे स्नानफलं नृणाम्
Lift me up, dear child, for I am sunk in the ocean of grief; by granting life and existence, one attains the fruit of bathing at holy places among men.
प्रबोधितुं न शक्नोमि दुर्निवारं च मानसम् । चिन्तये चरणाम्भोजं कृष्णस्य परमात्मनः
I am unable to awaken myself, and my mind cannot be restrained; I contemplate the lotus feet of Krishna, the Supreme Soul.
