नारायणप्रियायै च नारायण्यै नo । नमोऽस्तु विष्णुमायायै वैष्णव्यै च नo
Salutation to the beloved of Narayana, to Narayani; salutation to Vishnumaya, to the Vaishnavi.
महामायास्वरूपायै संपदायै नo । नमः कल्याणरूपिण्यै शुभायै च नo
Salutation to the one whose form is great maya, to prosperity; salutation to the one whose form is auspiciousness, to the fortunate one.
मात्रे चतुर्णा वेदानां सावित्र्यै च नo । नमोऽस्तु बुद्धिरूपायै ज्ञानदायै नo
Salutation to the mother of the four Vedas, to Savitri; salutation to the one whose form is intellect, to the giver of knowledge.
नमो दुर्गविनाशिन्यै दुर्गादेव्यै नo । तेजःसु सर्वदेवानां पुरा कृतयुगे मुदा
Salutation to the destroyer of difficulties, to the goddess Durga; in the Krita age, you were the radiance among all the gods, with joy.
अधिष्टानकृतायै च प्रकृत्यै च नo । नमस्त्रिपुरहारिण्यै त्रिपुरायै नo
Salutation to the one who established the abodes, to Prakriti; salutation to the destroyer of Tripura, to Tripura.
सुन्दरीषु च रम्यायै निर्गुणायै नo । ममो निद्रास्वरूपायै निर्गुणायै नo
Salutation to the beautiful one among beauties, to the attribute-less one; salutation to the one whose form is sleep, to the attribute-less one.
नमो दक्षसुतायै च नमः सत्यै नo । नमः शैलसुतायै च पार्वत्यै च नo
Salutation to the daughter of Daksha, salutation to Satya; salutation to the daughter of the mountain, to Parvati.
नमो नमस्तपस्विन्यै ह्यु मायै च नo । निराहारस्वरूपायै ह्यपर्णायै नo
Salutation to the ascetic, to Uma; salutation to the one whose form is fasting, to Aparna.
गौरीलौकविलासिन्यै नमो गौर्यै नo । नमः कैलासवासिन्यै माहेश्वर्यैः नo
Salutation to the one delighting in the world as Gauri, salutation to Gauri; salutation to the one residing in Kailasa, to Maheshvari.
निद्रायै च दयायै च श्रद्धायै च नo । नमो धृत्यै क्षमार्यै च लज्जायै च नo
Salutation to sleep, to compassion, to faith; salutation to fortitude, to forgiveness, to modesty.
तृष्णायै क्षुत्स्वरूपायै स्थितिकर्त्र्यै नo । नमः संहाररूपिण्यै महामार्यै नo
Salutation to thirst, to the form of hunger, to the sustainer; salutation to the one whose form is dissolution, to the great goddess.
भयायैं चाभयायैं च मुक्तिदायै नo । नमः स्वधायैं स्वाहायै शान्तयै कान्त्यै नo
Salutation to fear and to fearlessness, to the giver of liberation; salutation to Svadha, to Svaha, to peace, to beauty.
नमस्तुष्ट्यैं च पुष्ट्यै च दयायै च नo । नमो निद्रास्वरूपायै श्रद्धायै च नo
Salutations to Satisfaction, to Nourishment, and to Compassion; salutations to the embodiment of Sleep, and to Faith.
क्षुत्पिपासास्वरूपायै लज्जायैं च नo । नमो धृत्यैं क्षमायैं च चेतनायैं नo
Salutations to the embodiment of Hunger and Thirst, and to Modesty; salutations to Steadfastness, to Forbearance, and to Consciousness.
सर्वशक्तिस्वरूपिण्यै सर्वमात्रे नo । अग्नौ दाहस्वरूपायै भद्रायै च नo
Salutations to Her who is the form of all powers, to the measure of all; salutations to the form of burning in fire, and to Auspiciousness.
शोभायै पूर्णचन्द्रे च शरत्पद्म नo । नास्ति भेदो यथा देवि दुग्धधावल्ययोःसदा
Salutations to Beauty, to the full moon, and to the autumn lotus; O Goddess, just as there is no difference between milk and its whiteness, so it is always.
यथैव गन्धभूम्योश्च यथैव जलशैत्ययौः । यथैव शब्दन्भसोर्ज्योतिः सूर्यकयोर्यथा
Just as with fragrance and earth, just as with coolness and water, just as with sound and space, and with light and the sun.
लोके वेदे पुराणे च राधामाधवयोस्तथा । चेतनं कुरु कल्याणि देहि मामुत्तरं सति
So also, O Auspicious One, in the world, in the Vedas, and in the Purāṇas, it is with Rādhā and Mādhava; grant me consciousness, O virtuous lady, and give me the highest state.
इत्युक्त्वा चोद्धवस्तत्र प्रणनाम पुनः पुनः । इत्युद्ववकृतं स्तोत्रं यः पठेद्भक्तिपूर्वकम्
Having spoken thus, Uddhava there bowed again and again; whoever recites this hymn with devotion—
इह लोके सुखं भुक्त्वा यात्यन्ते हरिमन्दिरम् ।न भवेद्बन्धुविच्छेदो रोगः शोकः सुदारुणः
Enjoying happiness in this world, at the end he attains the abode of Hari; there will be no separation from relatives, nor terrible disease or grief.
प्रोषिता स्त्री लभेत्कान्तं भार्याभेदी लभेत्प्रियाम् । अपुत्रो लभते पुत्रान्निर्धनो लभते धनम्
A wife separated from her husband regains him, one estranged from his beloved is reunited; the childless obtains children, the poor obtains wealth.
निर्भूमिर्लभते भूमिं प्रजाहीनो लभेत्प्रजाम् । रोगाद्विमुच्यते रोगी बद्धी मुच्यते बन्धनात्
One without land obtains land, one without offspring obtains children; the sick is freed from illness, the bound is released from bondage.
भयान्मुच्येत भीतस्तु मुच्येताऽऽपन्नआपदः । अस्पष्टकीर्तिः सुयशा मूर्खो भवति पण्डितः
The fearful is freed from fear, and one in calamity is delivered from distress; one of unclear reputation gains good fame, and the ignorant becomes wise.
अथ त्रिनवतितमोऽध्यायः नारायण उवाच उद्धवस्तवनं श्रुत्वा चेतनां प्राप्य राधिका । विलोक्य कृष्णाकारं च तमुवाच शुचाऽन्विता
Chapter Ninety-Three. Nārāyaṇa said: Hearing Uddhava's hymn, Rādhikā regained consciousness; seeing the form of Kṛṣṇa, she, filled with sorrow, spoke to him.
राधिकोवाच किन्नाम भवतो वत्स केन वा प्रेरितो भवान् । आगतो वा कुत इति ब्रूह मां केन हेतुना
Rādhikā said: What is your name, dear one, and by whom have you been sent? From where have you come? Tell me for what reason.
कृष्णाकृतिस्त्वं सर्वाङ्गैर्मन्ये त्वां कृष्णपार्षदम् । कृष्णस्य सुशलं ब्रूहि बरदेवस्य सांप्रतम्
You have the form of Kṛṣṇa in all your limbs; I consider you a companion of Kṛṣṇa. Tell me now of the welfare of the blessed Lord.
नन्दस्तिष्ठति तत्रैव हेतुना केन तद्वद । समायास्यति सोविन्दो रम्यं वृन्दावनं वनम्
Is Nanda still there? For what reason? Tell me that. Will Govinda return to the delightful forest of Vṛndāvana?
पुनर्द्रक्ष्यामि तस्यैव पूर्णचन्द्रमुखं शुभम् । पुनः क्रीडां करिष्यामि तेनाहं रासमण्डले
Will I see again his auspicious, full-moon face? Will I again play with him in the circle of the rāsa dance?
जले च विहरिष्यामि पुनर्वा सखिभिः सह । श्रीनन्दनन्दनाङ्गे च पुनर्दास्यामि चन्दनम्
Will I again sport in the water with my friends? Will I again anoint the body of Nanda's son with sandal paste?
उद्धव उवाच उद्दवेत्यभिधानं मे क्षत्रियोऽहं वरानने । प्रेषितः शुभवार्तार्थं कृष्णेन परमात्मना
Uddhava said: My name is Uddhava, I am a Kṣatriya, O beautiful-faced one; I have been sent by Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Soul, to bring auspicious news.
