चतस्रः परिबूर्णास्ताः प्रसूताश्च सुनिश्चितम् । देव्योऽन्याश्चापि कामिन्यस्ताः प्रसूता व्रजेश्वर
Those four goddesses were born, each complete in herself; and certainly, other goddesses and desirous women were also born, O king of Vraja.
कलया प्रभवो यासां कलांशांशेन वा व्रज । जज्ञे महान्विराड्येन डिम्भेन कलयाऽऽश्रयः
Of those, some were born from a portion, some from a fraction of a portion, or by a portion of a portion, O Vraja; the great Virāṭ was born by a portion, taking shelter in an egg.
अमृताङ्गुष्ठपीयूषं मया दत्तं पपौ च सः । जले स्थावररूपश्च शेते च निजकर्मणः
He drank the nectar of immortality from the thumb, which I gave; remaining in the water in an immobile form, he lay there according to his own karma.
उपधानं जलं तल्पं तस्य योगबलेन च । तस्य लोम्नां च कूपानि जलपूर्णानि संततम्
By the power of his yoga, the water became his bed and support; from his pores, wells filled with water continually arose.
प्रत्येकं क्रमतस्तेषु शेते क्षुद्रविराट् पुनः । सहस्रपत्रं कमलं जज्ञे क्षुद्रस्य नाभितः
In each of those, in due order, the small Virāṭ lay again; from the navel of the small one, a thousand-petaled lotus was born.
तत्र जज्ञे वरो ब्रह्मा तेनायं कमलोद्भवः । तत्राऽऽविर्भूय स विधिश्चिन्ताग्रस्तो बभूव सः
There, the excellent Brahmā was born; thus, he is called 'lotus-born.' There, manifesting, that creator became absorbed in thought.
कस्माद्देहःक्वा माता मे पिता वा क्व च बान्धवः । दिव्यं त्रिलक्षवर्षञ्च बभ्राम कमलान्तरे
"From where is this body? Where is my mother, my father, or my kin?" For three hundred thousand divine years, he wandered within the lotus.
ततो दिव्यं पञ्चलक्षं सस्मार तपसा च माम् । तदा मया दत्तमन्त्रं जजाप कमलान्तरे
Then, for five hundred thousand divine years, he remembered me with austerity; at that time, he recited the mantra I had given him, within the lotus.
दिव्यवर्षसप्तलक्षं नियतं संयतः शुचिः । तदा मत्तो वरं लब्ध्वा स्रष्टा सृष्टिं चकार सः
For seven hundred thousand divine years, with discipline, restraint, and purity, then, having obtained a boon from me, he became the creator and performed creation.
मायया प्रति ब्रह्माण्डे ब्रह्मविष्णुशिवात्मकाः । दिक्पाला द्वादशादित्या रुद्राश्चैकादशापि च
By māyā, within each universe, those of the nature of Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Śiva; the guardians of the directions, the twelve suns, and also the eleven Rudras—
नवग्रहाष्टौ वसवो देवाः कोटित्रयं तथा । ब्राह्मणाक्षत्रविट्शूद्रा यक्षगन्धर्वकिन्नराः
The nine planets, the eight Vasus, and the gods, three crores in number; Brāhmaṇas, Kṣatriyas, Vaiśyas, Śūdras, Yakṣas, Gandharvas, and Kinnaras—
भूतादयो राङसाश्चाप्येवं सर्वं चराचरम् । विश्वे विश्वे विनिर्माणाः स्वर्गाः सप्त क्रमेण च
Beings such as Bhūtas and Rākṣasas, thus all moving and non-moving things; the various worlds, the seven heavens in order—
सप्तसागरसंयुक्ता सप्तद्वीपा वसुंधरा । काञ्चनीभूमिसंयुक्ता तमोयुक्तं स्थलं तथा
The earth with seven continents joined with seven oceans; the golden land and also the region filled with darkness—
पातालाश्च तथा सप्त ब्रह्माण्डमेभिरेव च । विश्वे विश्वे चन्द्रसूयो पुण्यक्षेत्रं च भारतम्
And likewise the seven netherworlds, and thus the universe with these; the various worlds, the moon, the sun, and the sacred land of Bhārata—
तीर्थान्येतानि सर्वत्र गङ्गादीति व्रजेश्वर । यावन्ति लोमकूपानि महाविष्णोः क्रमेण च
All these holy places, O king of Vraja, including the Gaṅgā and others, are as numerous as the pores on the body of the great Viṣṇu, in due order.
विश्वान्येव ही तावन्ति ह्यमंख्यातानि च ध्रुवम् । विश्वेषासूर्ध्वाभामे च वैकुण्ठश्च निराश्रयः
Indeed, O king, as many as there are, so many worlds exist, countless and certainly; above all these is Vaikuṇṭha, which is without support.
मदिच्छया विनिर्माणा वेदाः कथितुमक्षमाः । कुयोगिनाम दृष्टश्चामभक्तानां विनिश्चितम्
The Vedas, created by my will, are unable to describe; they are seen by false yogis and certainly by those who lack devotion.
तस्मादुपरि गोलोकः पञ्चाशत्कोटियोजनः । वायुना धार्यमाणश्च विचित्रः परमाश्रमः
Therefore, above is Goloka, fifty crore yojanas high, sustained by the wind, wondrous and the supreme abode.
अतीव रम्यनिर्माणो नित्यरूपो मदिच्छया । शतश्रृङ्गेण शैलेन पुण्यवृन्दावनेन च
Its creation is exceedingly delightful, eternal in form by my will, with a mountain of a hundred peaks and the sacred Vrindavana.
सुरासमण्डलेनापि नद्या विरजया युतः । कोटियोजनविस्तीर्णा प्रस्थेन विरजा व्रज
Joined with the circle of gods and the river Viraja, vast as a crore yojanas in breadth, Viraja flows through Vraja.
दैर्ध्यं तस्याः शतगुणं परितः परमा शुभा । अमूल्यरत्ननिकरैर्हीरमाणिक्ययोस्तथा
Its length is a hundred times greater all around, supremely auspicious, adorned with priceless gems, gold, and rubies.
मणीनां कौस्तुभादीनामसंख्यानां मनोहरा । अमूल्यरत्ननिर्माणं तत्रावि प्रतिमन्दिरम्
With countless enchanting jewels like Kaustubha, and priceless gems, there are temples everywhere fashioned from them.
मनोहरं च प्राकारमदृष्टं विश्वकर्मणा । गोपीभिर्गोपनिकरैर्वैष्टितं कामधेनुभिः
There is a charming wall, unseen before, made by Vishvakarma, surrounded by gopis, groups of cowherds, and wish-fulfilling cows.
कल्पवृक्षैः पारिजातैरसंख्यैश्च सरोवरैः । पुष्पोद्यानैःकोटिभिश्च संवृतं रासमण्डलम्
Encircled by wish-fulfilling trees, Parijata, countless lakes, and crores of flower gardens, is the rasa circle.
वेष्टितं वेष्टितैर्गोपैर्मन्दिरैः शतकोटिभिः । रत्नप्रदीपयुक्तैश्च पुष्पतल्पसमन्वितैः
Surrounded by gopas, and hundreds of crores of temples, equipped with gem lamps and adorned with flower beds.
सुगन्धिचन्दनामोदैः कस्तूरीकुङ्कुमान्वितैः । क्रीडोपयुक्तैर्भोगेश्च ताम्बूलैर्वासितैर्जलैः
With fragrant sandalwood scents, musk, saffron, used for play and enjoyment, and water perfumed with betel leaves.
धूपैः सुरभिरम्यैश्च माल्यैश्च रत्नदर्पणैः । रक्षकै रक्षितं शश्वद्राधादासीत्रिकोटिभिः
With delightful incense, garlands, and gem mirrors, guarded always by crores of Radha's attendants.
अमूल्यरत्नाभरणैर्वह्निशुद्धांशुकैरपि । लक्षणत्तगजेन्द्राणां वेष्टितं च बलैः क्रमात्
Adorned with priceless jewel ornaments and garments purified by fire, surrounded in order by the forces of elephant chiefs.
नवयौवनसंपन्नै रूपैर्निरुपमैरपि । रम्यं च वर्तुलाकारं चन्द्रबिम्बं यथा व्रज
Filled with youthful ones possessing incomparable beauty, charming and circular in shape, like the disc of the moon, is Vraja.
अमूल्यरत्नरचितं दशयोजनविस्तृतम् । कस्तूरीकुङ्कुमै रभ्यैः सुगन्धिचन्दनार्चितम्
Made of priceless gems, ten yojanas wide, worshipped with fragrant sandalwood, musk, and saffron.
