From one who is diseased, one becomes afflicted; from one without lineage, one becomes without descendants; from one without a wife, one becomes deprived of a wife; from one whose mantra is rejected, one becomes like the guru.

A pure Vaishnava Brahmin is capable of offering cooked food; if another person is unable to offer cooked food to Hari, he should not do so.
By uttering Om, by offering oblations, by worshipping the Shalagrama stone, and by giving cooked food to me, anyone other than a Brahmin goes downward.

A wise person should not accept a mantra from one who is indifferent or of bad conduct; if, by fate, he does accept it, he will certainly become poor.
Brahmins should always eat and offer oblations that are free from meat; by abandoning meat, they become radiant like the sun.
Cooking should always be done in new vessels; or, at least, until the end of a fortnight, after which the vessels should be discarded by the wise.
Having prepared a well-arranged place and completed the cooking, the worshipper, in that purified spot, offers the food to me with devotion.
Then, after making the offering, he eats, giving to the Brahmin with respect; but if he eats without offering, the twice-born becomes as one who has drunk liquor.
If there is contamination from the moon or sun, impurity due to death or birth, or if touched by someone impure, the cooking vessel must be immediately abandoned.

Having taken roasted substances and food, wearing washed garments, and after washing the feet, one eats in a purified place.
Twice-born persons should not eat twice while the sun is present; such an act becomes fruitless, and after eating thus, one goes to hell.
On the day of śrāddha, one should avoid journeys, battles, riverbanks, eating again, and sexual union; the restrained one eats only sacrificial food.
One should give the vessel to a Brahmin devoted to Vishnu, or to a learned one; but never to the husband of a low-caste woman, nor to a Shudra priest.
Never give to one who neglects the twilight rituals, is wicked, rides a bull, sells semen, or to a temple servant.
If the vessel is given to any of these, it leads the Brahmin to hell; if one eats from such a vessel and engages in intercourse that day, he goes to hell.
O dear one, among all sinners, the seller of a maiden is the worst; whoever gives her after accepting a price goes to the great hell called Mahāraurava.
For a year, up to the measure of the maiden's hair, along with her fathers, he is cooked in Kumbhīpāka, and the son and the priest as well.
Therefore, the wise should give a maiden only to a worthy recipient; never to Brahmins like Shudras, nor to those of their lineage.

One who is challenged in battle or in giving charity should not turn away; and if one gives up their life in battle, for them heaven brings lasting fame.
For Vaiśyas, trade is prescribed by the Lord, as well as agriculture and tending cattle; for Brāhmaṇas, worship of the gods, giving, austerity, and observance of vows.
For Śūdras, daily service to Brāhmaṇas is prescribed as their duty; if a Śūdra engages in agriculture or accepts wealth from it, he falls to the state of an outcaste.
A vulture for ten million births, a boar for a hundred births, a wild beast for a hundred births—such is the fate of a Śūdra who takes wealth from a Brāhmaṇa.
