स्वप्ने च ब्रह्मणो देवो ब्राह्मणी देवकन्यका । ब्राह्मणो ब्राह्मणी वाऽपि संतुष्टा सस्मिता सती
In a dream, if the god Brahma, a Brahmin woman, or a divine maiden, or a Brahmin or Brahmin woman, satisfied and smiling, appears,
फलं ददाति यस्मै च तस्य पुत्रो भविष्यति । यं स्वप्ने ब्राह्मणा नन्द कुर्वन्ति च शुभाशिषम्
Whoever receives fruit from them will have a son; if Brahmins bless someone in a dream,
यद्वदन्ति भवेत्तस्य तस्यैश्वर्य भवेद्ध्रुवम् । परितुष्टो द्विजश्रेष्ठश्टाऽऽयाति यस्य मन्दिरम्
Whatever they say will come to pass for that person; surely, that person will gain prosperity if a satisfied best of Brahmins comes to their house.
नारायणः शिवो ब्रह्मा प्रविशेत्तु तदाश्रमम् । संपत्तिस्वस्य भवति यशश्च विपुलं शुभम्
If Narayana, Shiva, or Brahma enters someone's hermitage, their own prosperity and great, auspicious fame will arise.
पदे पदे सुखं तस्य समानं गौरवं लभेत् । अकस्मादपि स्वप्ने तु लभते सुरभिं यदि
At every step, that person will obtain happiness and equal honor; if, even unexpectedly in a dream, one obtains a surabhi cow,
भूमिलाभो भवेत्तस्य भार्या चापि पतिव्रता । करेण कृत्वा हस्ती यं मस्तके स्थापयेद्यदि
That person will gain land, and his wife will be devoted; if an elephant places its trunk on someone's head,
राज्यलाभोभवेत्तस्य निश्चितं च श्रुतौ मतम् । स्वप्ने तु ब्राह्मणस्तुष्टः समाश्लिष्यतियं व्रज
That person will surely gain a kingdom, as is taught in scripture; if a satisfied Brahmin embraces someone in a dream,
तीर्थस्नायी भवेत्सोऽपि निश्चितं च श्रियाऽन्वितः । स्वप्ने ददाति पुष्पं च यस्मै पुण्यवते द्विजः
That person will become a pilgrim to holy places, certainly endowed with prosperity; if a Brahmin gives a flower in a dream to a virtuous person,
जययुक्तो भवेत्सोऽपि यशस्वी च धरी सुखी । स्वप्ने दृष्टवा च तीर्थानि सौधरत्नगृहाणि च
That person will be victorious, renowned, and happy; if one sees holy places or palaces adorned with jewels in a dream,
जययुक्तश्च धनवांस्तीर्थस्नायी भवेन्नरः । स्वप्ने तु पूणंकलशं कश्चित्कस्मै ददाति च
That person will be victorious, wealthy, and a pilgrim to holy places; if someone gives a full water-pot in a dream to another,
पुत्रलाभो भवेत्तस्य मंपत्तिं वा समालभेत् । हस्ते कृत्वा तु कुडवमाढकं वारसुन्दरी
He will obtain a son, or he will gain a wife, if he takes into his hand a measure or a vessel, O beautiful lady.
यस्य मन्दिरमायाति स लक्ष्मीं लभते ध्रुवम् । दिव्या स्त्री यद्गृहं गत्वा पुरीषं विसृजेद्द्विज
He in whose house she enters will surely obtain prosperity; if a divine woman comes to a house and relieves herself there, O twice-born one,
अर्थलाभो भवेत्तस्य दारिद्र्यं च प्रयाति च । यस्य गेहं समायाति ब्राह्मणो भार्यया सह
He will gain wealth, and poverty will depart; if a Brahmin enters someone's house together with his wife,
पार्वत्या सह शंभुर्वा लक्ष्म्या नारायणोऽथवा । ब्राह्मणो ब्राह्मणी वाऽपि स्वप्ने तस्मै प्रदीयते
If Śiva with Pārvatī, or Nārāyaṇa with Lakṣmī, or a Brahmin and his wife appear in a dream to someone,
धान्यं पुष्पाञ्जलिं वाऽपि तस्य श्रीः सर्दतोमुखी । मुक्ताहारं पुष्पमाल्यं चन्दनं च लभेद्व्रज
If in a dream they give him grain or a handful of flowers, then fortune, smiling on all sides, will be his; he will obtain a pearl necklace, a garland of flowers, and sandalwood, O Vraja.
स्वाप्ने ददाति विप्रश्च तस्य श्रीः सर्वo । गोरोचनं पताकां वा हरिद्रामिक्षुदण्डकम्
If in a dream a Brahmin gives him gorocana, a flag, turmeric, or a stick of sugarcane, then all fortune will be his.
सिद्धान्नं च लभेत्स्वप्ने तस्य श्रीः सर्वo । ब्राह्मणो ब्रह्माणी वाऽपि ददाति यस्य मस्तके
If in a dream he receives cooked food, then all fortune will be his; if a Brahmin or his wife places something on his head,
छत्रं वा शुक्लवान्यं व स चराजा भविष्यति । स्वप्ने लथस्थः पुरुषः शुक्लमाल्यानुलेपनः
Whether it is an umbrella or a white garment, he will become a king; if in a dream a man stands on a platform, adorned with white garlands and ointments,
तत्रस्थोदधि भुङ्क्ते च पायसं वा लृपो भवेत् । स्वप्ने ददाति विप्रश्च ब्राह्मणी च सुधांदधि
And eats there, or partakes of sweet rice, he will become a ruler; if in a dream a Brahmin or his wife gives him nectar or curd,
प्रशस्तपात्रं यस्मै वा सोऽपि राजा भवेद्ध्रुवम् । कुमारी चाष्टवर्षीया रत्नभूषणभूषिता
Or gives him an excellent vessel, he will surely become a king; if a maiden eight years old, adorned with jeweled ornaments,
यस्य तुष्टा भवेत्स्वप्ने स भवेत्कविपण़्डितः । ददाति पुस्तकं स्वप्ने यस्मै पुण्यवते च सा
Becomes pleased with him in a dream, he will become a poet and a scholar; if she gives a book in a dream to a virtuous person,
स भवेद्विश्वविख्यातः कवीन्द्रः पण़्डितेश्वरः । यं पाठयति स्वप्ने वा मातेव च सुतं यथा
He will become world-renowned, a chief among poets and scholars; if she teaches someone in a dream, as a mother teaches her son,
सरस्वतीसुतः सोऽपि तत्परो नास्ति पण्डितः । ब्राह्मणः पाठयेद्यं च पितेव यत्नपूर्वकम्
He becomes a son of Sarasvatī, and there is no scholar greater than him; if a Brahmin teaches someone with care, as a father would,
ददाति पुस्तकं प्रीत्या स च सत्सदृशो भवेत् । प्राप्नोति पुस्तकं स्वप्ने पथि वा यत्र तत्र वा
If he gives a book with affection, he will become like the good and noble; if someone obtains a book in a dream, whether on the road or elsewhere,
स पण्डितो यशस्वी च विख्यातश्च महीतले । स्वप्ने यस्मै महामन्त्रं विप्रो विप्रे ददाति चेत्
He will become a learned, renowned, and famous scholar on earth; if in a dream a Brahmin gives a great mantra to another Brahmin,
स भवेत्पुरुषः प्राज्ञो धनवान्गुणवान्सुधीः । स्वप्ने ददाति मन्त्रं वा प्रतिमां वा शिलामयीम्
He will become a wise, wealthy, virtuous, and intelligent man; if in a dream he receives a mantra or an image made of stone,
यस्मै ददाति विप्रश्च मन्त् सिद्धिश्च तद्भवेत् । विप्रं विप्रसमूहं च दृष्ट्वा नत्वाऽऽशिषं लभेत्
To whomever a Brahmin gives a mantra, he will attain success in that mantra; seeing a Brahmin or a group of Brahmins and bowing, he will receive blessings.
राजेन्द्रः स भवेद्वाऽपि किंवा च कविपण्डितः । शुक्लधान्ययुतां भूमीं यस्मै विप्र समुत्सृजेत्
He will become a king, O lord of kings, or a poet and scholar; if a Brahmin gives him land filled with white grains,
स्वप्नेऽपि परितुष्टश्च स भवेत्पृथिवीपतिः । स्वप्न विप्रो रथे कृत्वा नानास्वर्गं प्रदर्शयेत्
Even if pleased in a dream, he becomes a ruler of the earth; if a brāhmaṇa places someone in a chariot in a dream, he shows him various heavens.
चिरंजीवी भवेदायुर्धनवृद्धिर्भवेद्ध्रुवम् । विप्राय विप्रः संतुष्टो यस्मै कन्यां ददाति च
He becomes long-lived, his lifespan and wealth certainly increase, to whom a satisfied brāhmaṇa gives his daughter.
