द्रोणो जलधराणां च वर्षाणां भारतं तथा । कामिनां कामदेवोऽहं रम्भा च कामुकीषु च
Among clouds, I am Droṇa; among rains, I am Bhārata; among lovers, I am Kāmadeva; among passionate women, I am Rambhā.
गोलोकश्चास्मि लोकानासुत्तमः सर्वतः परः । मातृकासु शान्तिरहं रतिश्च सुन्दरीषु च
Among worlds, I am Goloka, the highest and supreme in every way; among mothers, I am peace; among beautiful women, I am delight.
धर्मोऽहं साक्षिणां मध्ये संध्या च वासरेषु च । देवेष्वहं च माहेन्दो राक्षसेषु विभीषणः
I am Dharma among witnesses, the twilight among the times of day; among the gods, I am Indra, and among the rakshasas, I am Vibhishana.
कालाग्निरुद्रो रुद्राणां संहारो भैरवेषु च । शङ्खेषु पाञ्चजन्योऽहमङ्गेष्वपि च मस्तकः
Among the Rudras, I am Kalagni Rudra; among the Bhairavas, I am Samhara Bhairava; among conch shells, I am Panchajanya, and among limbs, I am the head.
परं पुराणसूत्रेषु चाहं भागवतं वरम् । भारतं चेतिहासेषु पञ्चरात्रेषु कापिलम्
Among the ancient Puranic texts, I am the excellent Bhagavata; among the epics, I am the Mahabharata; among the Pancharatra scriptures, I am the Kapila.
स्वायंभुवो मनूनां च मुनीनां व्यासदेवकः । स्वधाऽहं पितृपत्नीषु स्वाहा वङ्निप्रियासु च
Among the Manus, I am Svayambhuva; among sages, I am Vyasa Deva; among the wives of the ancestors, I am Svadha; among those dear to Agni, I am Svaha.
यज्ञानां नाजसूयोऽहं यज्ञपत्नीषु दक्षिणा । शस्त्रास्त्रज्ञेषु रामोऽहं जमदग्निसुतो महान्
Among sacrifices, I am the Rajasuya; among the wives of sacrifices, I am Dakshina; among those skilled in weapons and missiles, I am Rama, the great son of Jamadagni.
पौराणिकेषु सूतोऽहं नीतिमत्स्वङ्गिरा मुनिः । विष्णुव्रतं व्रतानां च बलानां दैवमेव च
Among Puranic bards, I am Suta; among those skilled in policy, I am the sage Angiras; among vows, I am the Vishnu-vrata; among strengths, I am the divine power.
ओषधीनामहं दूर्वा तृणानां कुशमेव च । धर्मकर्मसु सत्यं च स्नेहपात्रेषु पुत्रकः
Among medicinal plants, I am durva grass; among grasses, I am kusa; in righteous actions, I am truth; among objects of affection, I am the son.
अहं व्याधिश्च शत्रूणां ज्वरो व्याधिष्वहं तथा । मद्भक्तिष्वपि मद्दास्यं वरेषु च वरः स्मृतः
Among diseases of enemies, I am illness; among diseases themselves, I am fever; among my devotees, I am their servitude to me; among boons, I am the highest boon remembered.
आश्रमाणां गृहस्थोऽहं संन्यासी च विवेकिनाम् । सुदर्शनं च शस्त्राणां कुशलं च शुभाशिषाम्
Among the stages of life, I am the householder; among those who discern, I am the renunciant; among weapons, I am the Sudarshana; among auspicious blessings, I am skillfulness.
एश्वर्याणां महाज्ञानं वैराग्यं च सुखेष्वहम् । मि (इ) ष्टवाक्यं प्रीतिदेषु दानेषु चाऽऽत्मदानकम्
Among powers, I am great knowledge; among pleasures, I am detachment; among words that bring delight, I am pleasing speech; among gifts, I am the gift of the self.
संचयेषु धर्मकर्म कर्मणां च मदर्चनम् । कठोरेषु तपश्चाहं फलेषु मोक्ष एव च
Among accumulations, I am righteous action; among actions, I am worship of me; among austerities, I am the severe penance; among fruits, I am liberation.
अष्टसिद्धिषु प्राकाम्यमहं काशीपुरीषु च । नगरेषु तथा काञ्ची स देशो यत्र वैष्णवः
Among the eight siddhis, I am prakamya; among cities, I am Kashi; likewise, among towns, I am Kanchi—the land where Vaishnavas dwell.
सर्वाधारेषु स्थूलेषु अहमेव महान्विराट् । परमाणुरहं विश्वे महासूक्ष्मेषु नित्यशः
Among all foundations and gross things, I alone am the great Virat; in the universe, among the most subtle, I am the supreme atom, eternally.
वैद्यानामश्विनीपुत्रौ जौषधीषु रसायनम् । धन्वन्तरीर्मन्त्रविदां विषादः क्षयकारिणाम्
Among physicians, I am the Ashvini twins; among medicines, I am the elixir; among those who know mantras, I am Dhanvantari; among those who cause decline, I am despair.
रागाणां मेघमल्लारः कामोदस्तत्प्रियासु च । मत्पार्षदेषु श्रीदामा मद्वन्वुष्वहमुद्धवः
Among musical modes, I am Meghamallara; among those dear to that mode, I am Kamoda; among my attendants, I am Shridama; among my forest dwellers, I am Uddhava.
पशुजन्तुषु गौश्चहं चन्दनं काननेषु च । तीर्थपूतश्च पूतेषु निःशङ्केषु च वैष्णवः
Among animals, I am the cow; among forest trees, I am sandalwood; among the pure, I am purified by pilgrimage; among the fearless, I am the Vaishnava.
न वैष्णवात्परः प्राणी मन्मन्त्रोपासकश्च यः । वृक्षेष्वङ्कुररूपोऽहमाकारः सर्ववस्तुषु
There is no being greater than a Vaishnava, nor one who worships me with mantra; among trees, I am the sprout; among all objects, I am their form.
अहं च सर्वभूतेषु मयि सर्वे च संततम् । यथा वृक्षे फलान्येव फलेषु चाङ्कुरस्तरोः
I am present in all beings, and all are always in me—just as fruits are in the tree, and in the fruits, the sprout of the tree.
सर्वकारणरूपोऽहं न च मत्कारणं परम् । सर्वेशीऽहं न मेऽपीशो ह्यहं कारणकारणम्
I am the form of all causes, and there is no higher cause than me; I am the supreme mistress of all, and for me there is no lord; indeed, I am the cause of all causes.
सर्वेषां सर्वबीजानां प्रवदन्ति मनीषिणः । मन्मायामोहितजना मां न जानन्ति पापिनः
The wise declare me to be the source of all beings and all seeds; but those deluded by my own maya, the sinful, do not know me.
पापग्रस्तेन दुर्बुद्ध्या विधिना वञ्चितेन च । स्वात्माऽहं सर्वजन्तूनां स्वाम्यहं नादृतः स्वयम्
Though I am the very self of all creatures, and their true master, I am not honored by those whose minds are clouded by sin and deceived by fate.
यत्राहं शक्तयस्तत्र क्षुत्पिपासादयस्तथा । गते मयि तथा यान्ति नरदेहे (वे) यथाऽनुगाः
Wherever I am, there too are the powers, along with hunger, thirst, and the rest; when I depart, they also depart from the human body, following after me.
हे व्रजेश नन्द तात ज्ञानं ज्ञात्वा व्रजं व्रज । कथयस्व च तां राधां यशोदां ज्ञानमेव च
O king of Vraja, Nanda, my father, having understood this knowledge, go to Vraja and tell Radha, Yashoda, and also impart this knowledge.
ज्ञात्वा ज्ञानं व्रजेशश्च जगाम स्वानुगैः सह । गत्वा च कथयामास ते द्वे च योषितां वरे
Having understood this knowledge, the lord of Vraja went together with his followers; and arriving there, he spoke it to those two foremost among women.
ते च सर्वे जहः शोकं महाज्ञानेन नारद । कृष्णो यद्यपि निर्लिप्तो मायेशो मायया रतः
And all of them, O Narada, abandoned their sorrow through this great knowledge; though Krishna is untouched, the lord of maya, yet he delights in maya.
यशोदया प्रेरितश्च पुनरागत्य माधवम् । तुष्टाव परमानन्दं नन्दश्च नन्दनन्दनम्
Urged by Yashoda, Nanda returned to Madhava and praised the blissful one, the son of Nanda.
सामवेदोक्तस्तोत्रेण कृतेन ब्रह्मणा पुरा । पुत्रस्य पुरतः स्थित्वा रुरोद च पुनः पुनः
Standing before his son, he recited the hymn from the Sama Veda, composed by Brahma in ancient times, and wept again and again.
अथ चतुःसप्ततितमोऽध्यायः नारायण उवाच श्रीकृष्णः परमानन्दः परिपूर्णतमः प्रभुः । परमात्मा च परमो भक्तानुग्रहकारकः
Narayana said: Sri Krishna, the supreme bliss, the most complete lord, the supreme self, is the highest, bestower of grace to devotees.
