कःकस्य पुत्रः कस्तातः का माता कस्यचित्कुतः। आयान्ति यान्ति संसारं परं स्वकृतकर्मणा
Who is whose son? Who is whose father? Who is the mother of whom, and from where? All beings come and go in the cycle of existence, each according to their own actions.
कर्मानुसाराज्जन्तुश्च जायते स्थानभेदतः । कर्मणा कोऽपि जन्तुश्च योगीन्द्राणां नृपस्त्रियाम्
According to their actions, a being is born in different places; by karma, one may be born as a great yogi, a king, or a woman.
द्विजापत्न्यां क्षत्रियाणां वैश्यायां शूद्रयोनिषु । तिर्यग्योनिषु कश्चिच्च कश्चित्पश्वादियोनिषु
Some are born from the wives of Brahmins, some among Kshatriyas, some from Vaishyas, some in Shudra wombs, some in animal births, and some among beasts and others.
ममैव मायया सर्वे सानन्दा विषयेषु च । देहत्यामे विषण्णाश्च विच्छेदे बान्धवस्य च
By my own maya, all are joyful in sense pleasures; but at the time of death, and at the separation from relatives, they become distressed.
प्रजाभूमिधनादीनां विच्छेदो मरणाधिकः । नित्यं भवति मूढश्च न च विद्वाञ्छुचा युतः
Separation from offspring, land, wealth, and so on is greater than death; the ignorant always grieve, but the wise are not afflicted by sorrow.
मद्भक्तो भक्तियुक्तश्च मद्याजी विजितेन्द्रियः । मन्मन्त्रोपासकश्चैव मत्सेवानिरतः शुचिः
My devotee, endowed with devotion, who worships me, has conquered the senses, recites my mantra, is devoted to my service, and is pure—
मद्भयाद्वाति वातोऽयं रविर्भाति च नित्यशः । भाति चन्द्रो महेन्द्रश्च कालभेदे च वर्षति
Out of fear of me, the wind blows, the sun shines continually, the moon and Indra shine, and rain falls at the proper time.
वह्निर्वहति मृत्युश्च चरत्येव हि जन्तुषु । बिभर्ति वृक्षः कालेन पुष्पापि च फलानि च
Fire burns, death moves among beings, the tree bears flowers and fruits in due season.
निराधारश्च वायुश्च वाय्वाधारश्च कच्चिपः । शेषश्च कच्छपाधारः शेषाधारश्च पर्वतः
The wind is without support, the tortoise supports the wind, Shesha supports the tortoise, and the mountain is supported by Shesha.
तदाधाराश्च पातालाः सप्त एव हि पङ्क्तितः । निश्चलं च जलं तस्माज्जलस्था च वसुंधरा
The seven netherworlds are supported in succession; the water is unmoving, and upon that water rests the earth.
सप्तस्वर्ग धराधारं ज्योतिश्चकं ग्रहाश्रयम् । निराधारश्च वैकुण्ठो ब्रह्माण्डेम्यः परो वरः
The seven heavens are supported by the earth, the sphere of light is the abode of the planets; Vaikuntha is without support, and the supreme Brahmanda is beyond.
तत्परश्चापि गोलोकः पञ्चाशत्को टियोजनात् । ऊर्ध्व निराश्रयश्चापि रत्नसारविनिर्मितः
Beyond that is Goloka, fifty crores of yojanas above, unsupported, fashioned from the essence of jewels.
सप्तद्वारः सप्तसारः परिखासप्तसंयुतः । लक्षप्राकारयुक्तश्च नद्या विरजया युतः
It has seven gates, seven essences, and is surrounded by seven moats; it is encircled by a hundred walls and the river Viraja.
वेष्टितो रत्नशैलेन शतशृङ्गेण चारुणा । योजनायुतमानं च यस्यैकं शृङ्गमुज्ज्वलम्
It is surrounded by a jewel mountain with a hundred beautiful peaks; one peak shines brilliantly and measures ten thousand yojanas.
शतकोटियोजनश्च शैल उच्छ्रित एव च । दैर्ध्यं तस्य शतगुणं प्रस्थं च लक्षयोजनम्
The mountain rises to a hundred crore yojanas in height; its length is a hundred times that, and its breadth is a hundred thousand yojanas.
योजनायुतविस्तीर्णस्तत्रैव रासमण्डलः । अमूल्यरत्ननिर्माणो वर्तुलश्चन्द्रबिम्बवतु
Within it is the rasa-mandala, ten thousand yojanas wide, made of priceless jewels, circular like the disc of the moon.
पारिजातवनेनैव पुष्पितेन च वेव्टितः । कल्पवृक्षसहस्रेण पुष्पोद्यानशतेन च
It is encircled by a blossoming grove of parijata trees, by a thousand wish-fulfilling trees, and by a hundred flower gardens.
नानाविधैः पुष्पवृक्षैः पुष्पितेन च चारुणा । त्रिकोटिरत्नभवनो गोपीलक्षैश्च रक्षितः
It is adorned with various kinds of flowering trees in full bloom, and the three-crore jewel palace is protected by hundreds of thousands of gopis.
रत्नप्रदीपयुक्तश्च रत्नतल्पसमन्वितः । नानाभोगसमायुक्तो सधुवापीशतैर्वृतः
Endowed with jewel lamps and furnished with jewel couches, surrounded by various enjoyments and encircled by hundreds of virtuous pools.
पीयूषवापीयुक्तश्च कामभोगसमन्वितः । गोलोकगृहसंख्यानवर्णने वा विशारदः
Equipped with nectar pools and filled with pleasures of desire, skilled in describing the countless houses of Goloka.
न कोऽपि वेद विद्वान्वा वेदविद्वान्व्रजेश्वरः । अमूल्यरत्ननिर्माणभवनानां त्रिकोटिभिः
No one, not even a learned scholar or the lord of Vraja who knows the Vedas, knows the three crores of mansions made of priceless jewels.
शोभितं सुन्दरं रम्यं राधाशिविरमुत्तमम् । अमूल्यरत्नकलशैरुज्ज्वलं रत्नदर्पणैः
Radiant, beautiful, and delightful is the supreme abode of Rādhā, shining with pitchers of priceless jewels and jewel mirrors.
असूल्यरत्नस्तमभानां राजिभिश्च विराजितम् । नानाचित्रविचित्रैश्च चित्रितं श्वेतचामरैः
Adorned with rows of inestimable jewel pillars, decorated with various marvelous designs and white yak-tail fans.
माणिक्यमुक्तासंसक्तं हीरावारसमन्वितम् । रत्नप्रदीपसंसक्तं रत्नसोपानसुन्दरम्

Adorned with bedsheets of priceless jewel leaves and decorated with threefold marvelous patterns of priceless jewels.
तिसृभिः परिखाभिश्च त्रिभिर्द्वारैश्च दुर्गमैः । युक्तं षोडशकक्षाभिः प्रतिद्वारेषु वाऽन्तरम्
Fitted with three moats and three difficult gates, furnished with sixteen chambers, and an inner space at each gate.
गोपीषोडशलक्षैश्च संनियुक्तैरितस्ततः । वह्निशुद्धांशुकाधानै रत्नभूषणभूषितैः
Attended on all sides by sixteen lakhs of gopīs, clothed in fire-purified garments and adorned with jewel ornaments.
तप्तकाञ्चनवर्णाभैः शतचन्द्रसमन्वितैः । राधिकारिंकरीवर्गैर्युक्तमभ्यन्तरं वरम्
With complexions like molten gold and radiant as a hundred moons, the inner sanctum is attended by groups of Rādhikā’s maidservants.
अमूल्यरत्ननिर्माणप्रङ्गणं सुमनोहरम् । अमूल्यरत्नस्तम्भानां समूरैश्च सुशोभितम्
A courtyard made of priceless jewels, most enchanting, splendid with clusters of pillars of priceless jewels.
रत्नमङ्गलकुम्भैश्च फलपल्लवसंयुतैः । संयुतं रत्नवेदीभिर्मुक्ता युक्ताभिरीप्सितम्
Joined with auspicious jewel pitchers bearing fruits and leaves, furnished with jewel platforms adorned with pearls, most desirable.
