Having said this, the blessed one held her beloved to her breast and began to recount her bad dream, her heart troubled.
Radhika said: I was seated on a jeweled throne, holding a jeweled umbrella; then a Brahmin, angry, seized that parasol from me, O Lord.
He sent me, weak as I was, into a sea dark as ink, vast, dreadful, and hard to cross.
There, afflicted by sorrow, I wandered again and again in the current, distressed by the force of great waves, amidst a multitude of crocodiles.
Save me, save me, O Lord! I call to you again and again. Not seeing you, greatly afraid, I pray to the gods.
Krishna, there I saw myself sinking, and the moon's disk falling from the sky, shattered upon the earth.
In another moment, I saw the sun's disk descend from the sky, breaking into four pieces upon the earth.
At one time in the sky, the disks of the moon and sun appeared, exceedingly dark, both swallowed by Rahu.
In another moment, I saw the radiant Brahma, holding a nectar jar upon his lap, and in anger, he broke it.
In another moment, I saw a Brahmin, greatly enraged, taking away the person from my eyes.
O Lord, the lotus play-stick fell suddenly from my hand and, for some reason, broke into many pieces.
The radiant, jewel-studded mirror, pure and shining like collyrium, slipped from my hand at once and shattered into fragments.
The necklace of precious gems broke from my chest and, like a withered lotus, fell heavily to the ground.
All the palace dolls are dancing, laughing, clapping, singing, and then suddenly weeping, moment after moment.
I see a great, black wheel spinning again and again in the sky, terrifying as it rises and falls.
The Lord of life, a person, emerged from within me and said, 'Radha, I bid farewell to this body; now I depart.'
Now I see a dark-hued image embracing and kissing me, clothed in black garments.
Thus, beloved of my soul, I have seen these strange and contrary visions; my right limbs are trembling, and my life-breaths are agitated.
They weep, they grieve, they torment my anxious mind. O Lord, O best of knowers of the Veda, tell me, what is this, what is this?
Having spoken thus, Goddess Radhika, her throat, lips, and palate parched, fell in fear and sorrow at his lotus feet.
Hearing of her dream, the Lord of the universe placed the goddess upon his chest and, by spiritual yoga, awakened her at that very moment.
By his grace, the goddess abandoned her sorrow, attained pure knowledge, and, making her beloved peaceful and divine, held him to her breast.
Thus ends the sixty-sixth chapter in the Brahma-vaivarta Purana, in the section called 'Dispelling Radha's Sorrow,' within the narrative of Krishna's birth, as spoken by Narada.
Now, the sixty-seventh chapter. Narayana said: Seeing my beloved overwhelmed by separation, Krishna placed her upon his chest and went to the playful lake.
Radha, queen of queens, shines upon Krishna's chest like lightning on a raincloud, or a river in the sky, O sage.
He, the ocean of mercy, enjoyed with Rama (Radha) in compassion, just as a ruby rests between two pieces of gold or two emeralds.
On a couch fashioned of jewels, made from the finest gems, beneath a lamp of jewels, adorned with jeweled ornaments, he shone.
Adorned with jeweled ornaments, the lord of rasa, out of delight, was immersed in the beautiful ocean of rasa, together with the jewel of rasa.
In the rāsa dance, Rādhā, the mistress of the rāsa, spoke to Rāmeśvara: 'In union there is enjoyment, in separation there is restraint; in restraint, there is no delight in the mind.'
Rādhā said: 'I blossom with you, Lord; without you, I wither and die, just as a cluster of great herbs shines at sunrise.'
