कालिका सुन्दरी भद्रावती चम्पावती तथा । एदाश्चाप्सरसश्चान्याः कलां नार्हन्ति षोडशीम्
Who is Kālikā, Sundarī, Bhadrāvatī, or Campāvatī? And all these other apsarās do not equal her in beauty, not even to the sixteenth part.
इमां विहाय मूढोऽन्यां कथं गच्छति मन्दधीः । अस्माकं योबितोऽस्याश्च चेटितुल्याश्च निश्चितम्
Abandoning her, how does the foolish and dull-minded man go to another? Our women and hers are certainly no better than servants.
मां भजस्व वरारोहे सुप्रीत भव किंकरम् । यथा राधा च गोलोके कृष्णवक्षसि राजते
Adore me, O beautiful one; be well-pleased and make me your servant, just as Rādhā shines upon the chest of Kṛṣṇa in Goloka.
वैकुण्ठोरसि वैकुण्ठे यथा लक्ष्मीः सरस्वती । ब्रह्मलोके च ब्रह्माणी यथैव ब्रह्मवक्षसि
Just as Lakṣmī and Sarasvatī dwell upon the chest of Viṣṇu in Vaikuṇṭha, and Brahmāṇī upon the chest of Brahmā in Brahmaloka.
यथा मूर्तिर्महासाध्वी धर्मवक्षःस्थलस्थिता । पातालतललक्ष्मीर्वा यथैवाऽनन्तवक्षसि
Just as the great virtuous form abides upon the chest of Dharma, or the Lakṣmīs of the netherworld upon the chest of Ananta.
यथा पुष्टिर्गणेणे च देवसेना च कार्तिके
Just as Puṣṭi is with Gaṇeśa, and Devasenā with Kārtikeya.
यथारतिःकामदेवे यथा संज्ञा दिनेश्क्रे । वायोःपत्नी यथा वायौ यथा चन्द्रे च रोहिणी
Just as Rati is with Kāma, Saṃjñā with the Sun, the wife of Vāyu with Vāyu, and Rohiṇī with the Moon.
यथाऽदितिर्देवमाता तव श्वश्रूश्च कश्यपे । यथा हिमालये मेना पितृकन्या च मानसी
Just as Aditi, mother of the gods, is with Kaśyapa, your mother-in-law; just as Menā is with Himālaya, and Mānasī, his daughter.
लोपामुद्रा यथाऽगस्त्ये यथा तारा बृहस्पतौ । कर्दमे देवहूतिश्च वसिष्ठेऽरुन्धती यथा
Just as Lopāmudrā is with Agastya, Tārā with Bṛhaspati, Devahūti with Kardama, and Arundhatī with Vasiṣṭha.
मनौ च शतरुपेव दमयन्ती नले यथा । तथा भव त्वं सौभाग्या मम वक्षसि सुन्दरि
Just as Śatarūpā is with Manu, and Damayantī with Nala, so may you, O beautiful one, be fortunate upon my chest.
लीलया च सहस्रेन्द्राञ्छेतुं शक्तोऽहमीश्वरः । नारी वाञ्छति जारं च स्वामिनो बलवत्तरम्
By my power, I am able to defeat thousands of Indras in sport; yet a woman desires a lover stronger than her own husband.
सुमेरुगिरिकूटे च दुर्गमेति रहःस्यले । अथवा मलये रम्ये रम्ये चन्दनवायुना
On the summit of Mount Sumeru, in a secret and inaccessible place, or else on the delightful Malaya mountain, where the sandal breeze blows.
विश्रम्भके सुरसने किंवा नन्दनकानने । निकटे शतश्रृङ्गस्य पुष्पभद्रानदीतटे
In Viśrambhaka, in Surasana, or in the Nandana grove; near Śataśṛṅga, on the banks of the Puṣpabhadrā river.
गोदावरीतीरनीरे समीपे शीतवायुना । चम्पावतीनदीतीरे रम्ये चम्पककानने
On the waters of the Godāvarī river, near the cool breeze; on the banks of the Campāvatī river, in the delightful grove of campaka trees.
श्मशानेऽतिश्मशाने च रम्येऽतिनिर्जने वने । शैले शैलेऽतिरहसि कंदरे कंदरे वने
In the cremation ground, or in a very deserted and beautiful forest; on every mountain, in every secret cave within the forest.
द्वीपे द्वीपे दुर्गदुर्गै नद्यां नद्यां नदे नदे । समुद्रपुलिने रम्ये सर्वजन्तुविवर्जिते
On every island, in every fortress, in every river, in every stream, on the beautiful shore of the ocean, where all creatures are absent.
विदग्धाया विदग्धेन संगमो निर्जने सुखः । पुष्पचन्दनशय्यायां पुष्पचन्दनचर्चिते
Union in solitude between a clever woman and a clever man is delightful, on a bed adorned with flowers and sandalwood, their bodies anointed with flower and sandal paste.
मां गृहीत्वी कुरु रतिं पुष्पचन्दनचर्चितम् । ब्रह्मणश्च वरैर्देवि जरामृत्युविवर्जितम्
Take me and make love with me, my body adorned with flower and sandal paste; by the boons of Brahma, O goddess, I am free from old age and death.
मां कुरुष्व पतिं भद्रे नित्यं सुस्थिरयौवनम् । सुवेषं सुन्दरं धीरं कामशास्त्रविशारदम्
Make me your husband, O auspicious one, ever steadfast in youthful vigor, well-dressed, handsome, resolute, and skilled in the science of love.
शरत्पार्वणचन्द्रास्यं चन्द्रवंशसमुद्भवम् । आगतामृर्वशीं मह्यां त्यक्तवन्तं च याचातीम्
With a face like the autumn full moon, born of the lunar dynasty, having left Urvashi who had come to me, and having abandoned the one who begged for me.
न मेस्पृहा परस्त्रीषु त्वां दृष्ट्वा लोलुपं मनः । त्यक्ता मया स्वभायश्चि रत्नभूषणभूषिताः
I have no desire for other women; seeing you, my mind is not fickle. I have abandoned my own wives, adorned with jewels and ornaments.
अथावा रक्षिताःसर्वा दासीः कृत्वा वहानने । रत्नेन्द्रसारां मालां ते दास्यामि वरुणस्य च
Or else, having protected them all, making them your maidservants, O bright-faced one, I will give you a garland of the finest jewels, and also one from Varuna.
निर्जित्य वरुणं युद्धे ब्रह्मस्त्रेणातितेजसा । वह्निशुद्धंवस्त्रयुगं जित्वा वह्निं सुदुर्बलम्
Having conquered Varuna in battle by the power of the Brahma weapon, I will give you a pair of garments purified by fire, having defeated the exceedingly powerful fire-god.
दास्याम्यद्यैव ते देवि नियोज्यं मां नियोज्य । मणीन्द्रसारनिर्माणमकानाकानकुण्डले
Today itself, O goddess, I will give you, by your command, earrings crafted from the finest jewels, having been made by the best of jewelers.
दास्यामि देवान्निर्जित्य देवमातुश्च सुन्दरि । करभूषणयुग्मं चात्यमूल्यरत्ननिर्मितम्
I will give you, O beautiful one, after conquering the gods and the mother of the gods, a pair of armlets fashioned from priceless jewels.
दास्याम्यद्यैव रोहिण्याश्चन्द्रं जित्वाऽतिदुर्लमम् । यक्ष्मग्रस्तमतिकृशं ममैव पूर्वपूरुषम्
Today itself, I will give you the moon of Rohini, having conquered it, which is exceedingly hard to obtain, and my own former self, emaciated and afflicted with consumption.
विना युद्धेन भीतो मां कृपया वा प्रदास्यति । अमूल्यरत्ननिर्माणं क्तणन्मञ्जीरयुग्मकम्
Without battle, out of fear, he will give it to me out of compassion; a pair of anklets fashioned from priceless jewels.
दास्याम्यद्यैव पार्वत्या भिक्षां कृत्वा महेश्वरम् । आशुतोषं स्तुतिवशं भक्तेशं चे कृबामयम्
Today itself, I will beg Parvati and give you, having propitiated Maheshvara, the lord who is easily pleased, swayed by praise, master of devotees, and full of compassion.
सर्वसंपत्तिदातारं परं कल्पतरुं शुभे । अमूल्यरत्ननिर्माणकेयूरयुगुलं प्रिये
The bestower of all prosperity, the supreme wish-fulfilling tree, O auspicious one; a pair of bracelets fashioned from priceless jewels, O beloved.
दास्यामि तेऽद्य गङ्गाया युद्धं कृत्वा सुदुर्लभम् । बहुलीयुगुलं चारु सूर्यपत्न्या मनोहरम्
Today I will give you, after waging a difficult battle with Ganga, a beautiful pair of armlets, enchanting, from the wife of the Sun.
