येये तत्सङ्गिनो गोपाः शयनासनभोगतः
And those cowherds who were his companions, from their beds, seats, and enjoyments—
श्रीकृष्णो मथुरां गत्वा किं किं कर्म चकार सः
What deeds did Śrī Kṛṣṇa perform after going to Mathurā?
श्रीनारायण उवाच जगाम तत्र भगवांस्तेन राज्ञा निमन्त्रितः
Śrī Nārāyaṇa said: The Blessed Lord went there, having been invited by that king.
राजा प्रस्थापयामास चाक्रूरं भगवत्प्रियम्
The king sent Akrūra, who was dear to the Lord.
श्रीकृष्णं च गृहीत्वा स सगणं मथुरां गतः
He took Śrī Kṛṣṇa along with his companions and went to Mathurā.
जघान रजकं चैव चाणूरं मुष्टिकं गजम्
He slew the washerman, as well as Cāṇūra, Muṣṭika, and the elephant.
कुब्जया सह शृङ्गारं कृत्वा च कौतुकेन च 4.54.
With Kubjā, he engaged in amorous play, out of curiosity.
चकार कृपया विष्णुर्मालाकारस्य मोक्षणम्
Out of compassion, Viṣṇu granted liberation to the garland-maker.
तदोपनीतो भगवानवन्तीनगरं ययौ
Then, having been brought there, the Blessed Lord went to the city of Avantī.
ततो जित्वा जरासन्धं निहत्य यवनेश्वरम्
Afterward, having conquered Jarāsandha and slain the king of the Yavanas,
गत्वा समुद्रनिकटं निर्माय द्वारकां पुरीम्
He went to the seashore and built the city of Dvārakā.
कालिंदीं लक्ष्मणां शैब्यां सत्यां जांबवतीं सतीम्
He married Kālindī, Lakṣmaṇā, Śaibyā, Satyā, and the virtuous Jāmbavatī.
निहत्य नरकं भूपं रणेन दारुणेन च
He slew the king Naraka in a fierce battle.
जहार पारिजातं च जित्वा शक्रं च लीलया
He took the Pārijāta tree, having playfully defeated Śakra.
पौत्रस्य मोक्षणं कृत्वा पुनरागत्य द्वारकाम्
Having granted liberation to his grandson, he returned again to Dvārakā.
योगे च वसुदेवस्य तीर्थयात्राप्रसंगतः
In the yoga of Vasudeva, associated with pilgrimage to holy places,
पूर्णे च शतवर्षे च सुदाम्नः शापमोक्षणे 4.54.
When a hundred years were completed, at the time of Sudāmā's release from the curse,
पुनश्चतुर्दशाब्दं च तया सार्धं जगत्पतिः
Again, for fourteen years, the Lord of the world remained with her.
पूर्णमेकादशाब्दं च निवृत्य नन्दमंदिरे
After completing eleven years, he returned to Nanda's house.
चकार भारहरणं पृथिव्यां पृथुविक्रमः
With great prowess, he relieved the burden of the earth.
तिष्ठञ्जगाम गोलोकं पृथिव्यां च पुरातनः
The ancient one, remaining, went to Goloka and also to the earth.
राधामात्रे कलावत्यै ददौ सामीप्यमोक्षणम्
He granted proximity and liberation only to Rādhā, the embodiment of all powers.
निबध्य धर्मसेतुं च वेदोक्तं च युगे युगे
Establishing the bridge of righteousness, as declared in the Vedas, in every age.
श्रीकृष्णचरितं रम्यं चतुर्वर्गफलप्रदम्
The delightful deeds of Śrī Kṛṣṇa bestow the fruits of the four aims of life.
भज तं परमानन्दं सानन्दं नन्दनन्दनम्
Worship that supreme bliss, the joyful son of Nanda.
परमव्ययमव्यक्तं भक्तानुग्रहविग्रहम्
The supreme, imperishable, unmanifest, the embodiment of grace for devotees.
निर्गुणं च निरीहं च निराकारं निरञ्जनम् ।। 4.54.
Without qualities, without desire, formless, and stainless.
इति श्रीब्रह्मैववर्ते महापुराणे श्रीकृष्णजन्मखण्डे नारायणनारदसंवादे श्रीकृष्णराधिकासंवादो नाम चतुष्पञ्चाशत्तमोऽध्यायः
Thus, in the great Purāṇa Brahmavaivarta, in the section on the birth of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, in the dialogue between Nārāyaṇa and Nārada, is the fifty-fourth chapter named 'The Dialogue of Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Rādhikā.'
ॐ तत्सद्ब्रह्मणे नमः। श्रीमद्द्वैपायनमुनीप्रणीतं- ब्रह्मवैवर्तपुराणम्। अथ श्रीकृष्णजन्मखण्डस्योत्तरार्धः। अथ पञ्चपञ्चाशत्तमोऽध्यायः। नारायण उवाच स एव भगवान्कृष्णः सर्वात्मा पुरुषः परः । दुराराध्योऽतिसाध्यश्च सर्वाराध्यः सुखप्रदः
Om, salutation to the true Brahman. The Brahmavaivarta Purāṇa, composed by the sage Śrī Dvaipāyana. Now, the latter half of the section on the birth of Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Now, the fifty-fifth chapter. Nārāyaṇa said: That very Lord Kṛṣṇa, the soul of all, the supreme person, is difficult to worship, extremely hard to attain, yet worthy of all worship and giver of happiness.
निजभक्तातिसाघ्यश्चाभक्तस्यासाध्य एव च । शश्वद्दृश्यः स्वभक्तस्याभक्तस्यादृश्य एव च
He is most easily attained by his own devotee, but never attainable by the non-devotee; he is always visible to his devotee, but never seen by the non-devotee.
