नानापुष्पैर्विरचितामम्लानां चन्दनोक्षिताम्
He gave her garlands made of various flowers, unfading and anointed with sandalwood.
कस्तूरीकुङ्कमाक्तं च सुगन्धिचन्दनं ततः
Then, perfumed sandalwood, blended with musk and saffron, was given.
पारिजातस्य कुसुमं दत्तं रहसि ब्रह्मणा 4.53.
A pārijāta flower was given in secret by Brahmā.
कमलं निर्मलं दिव्यं सहस्रदलमुज्ज्वलम्

आसवं रत्नपात्रस्थं दस्रदत्तं च निर्जने
Wine placed in a jeweled cup was given in solitude by Dasra.
मालतीमाधवीकुन्दमन्दारचम्पकादिकम्
He gave mālatī, mādhavī, kunda, mandāra, campaka, and other flowers.
सुदुर्लभं च ताम्बूलं कर्पूरादिसुसंस्कृतम्
He gave the exceedingly rare betel, excellently prepared with camphor and other ingredients.
सुदुर्लभं च विश्वेषु वाक्पतेः परिनिर्मितम्
He gave that which is exceedingly rare in all worlds, fashioned by the lord of speech.
अतिसूक्ष्ममनुपमं दत्तं भक्त्या विराजितम्
He gave, with devotion, an exceedingly fine and incomparable ornament, splendidly adorned.
देवराजेन दत्तं च गजराजेन्द्रमौक्तिकम्
The king of the gods gave the foremost pearl from the lord of elephants.
एतस्मिन्नन्तरे तत्र सुशीलाद्याश्च गोपिकाः
Meanwhile, there, the virtuous Gopīs and others,
षष्टिसत्कोटिगोपीभिः सार्धं संहृष्टमानसाः 4.53.
With sixty hundred million Gopīs, their hearts filled with joy,
काश्चिच्चंदनहस्ताश्च काश्चिच्चामरवाहिकाः
Some held sandalwood in their hands, and some were bearers of fly-whisks.
काश्चित्सिंदूरहस्ताश्च काश्चित्कंकतिकाकराः
Some held vermilion in their hands, and some had bracelets in their hands.
काश्चिद्दर्पणहस्ताश्च पुष्पपात्रधरा वराः
Some held mirrors, and others, who were excellent, carried vessels of flowers.
काश्चिदासवहस्ताश्च काश्चिद्भूषणवाहिकाः
Some held wine in their hands, and some bore ornaments.
स्वरयंत्रकराः काश्चिद्वीणाहस्ताश्च काश्चन
Some held musical instruments, and some held vīṇās in their hands.
गोलोकादागतायाश्च भारतं राधया सह
Together with Rādhā, who had come from Goloka, O Bhārata,
काश्चिच्चक्रुश्च सेवां च राधायाः श्वेतचामरैः
Some rendered service to Rādhā with white chowries.
काचिद्ददौ च ताम्बूलं भक्षणार्थे महामुने
One offered betel leaf for chewing, O great sage.
प्रतस्थौ गोपिकासार्द्धं राधावक्षःस्थलस्थितः
She set out together with the gopīs, remaining at Rādhā’s bosom.
क्षणं चखाद ताम्बूलं क्षणं निद्रां ययौ मुदा 4.53.
For a moment she chewed betel, and for a moment she joyfully slept.
क्षणं जलविहारं च चकार यमुनाजले
For a moment she sported in the water of the Yamunā.
स्वेच्छामयस्यात्मनश्च परिपूर्णतमस्य च
Of the self who is made of his own will and is completely fulfilled,
ब्रह्मविष्णुशिवादीनामीश्वरस्य परस्य च
Of the Supreme Lord of Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Śiva, and others,
उक्तं किशोरचरितं किं भूयः श्रोतुमिच्छसि
The deeds of the youthful one have been told; what more do you wish to hear?
नारद उवाच कथं जगाम भगवान्मथुरां नन्दमन्दिरात्
Nārada said: How did the Blessed Lord go to Mathurā from Nanda’s house?
नन्दो दधार प्राणांश्च विच्छेदेन हरेः कथम्
How did Nanda preserve his life after being separated from Hari?
चक्षुर्निमेषविच्छेदाद्या राधा न हि जीवति
Rādhā does not live even for the time it takes to blink her eyes.
