स्वयं राधां करे धृत्वा पूर्वोक्तं रतिमन्दिरम्
He himself took Radha by the hand and entered the pleasure chamber previously described.
नानाप्रकारशृङ्गारं कामशास्त्रविशारदः 4.52.
Expert in the science of love, he engaged in various kinds of adornment and amorous play.
बभूव सुरतिस्तत्र सुचिरं च तयोर्मुने
There, their union endured for a long time, O sage.
एवं तौ तस्थतुस्तत्र राधाकृष्णौ रसोत्सुकौ
Thus, Radha and Krishna remained there, eager for delight.
नारद उवाच निमित्तमस्य मां भक्तं वद भक्तजनप्रिय
Narada said: Tell me the reason for this, O beloved of devotees, for I am your devotee.
श्रीनारायण उवाच जगन्माता च प्रकृतिः पुरुषश्च जगत्पिता
Sri Narayana said: The Mother of the universe is Prakriti, and Purusha is the Father of the world.
गरीयसी त्रिजगतां माता शतगुणैः पितुः
The Mother of the three worlds is greater than the Father by a hundredfold.
कृष्णराधेशगौरीति लोके न च कदा श्रुतः
The name 'Krishna-Radha-Isha-Gauri' has never been heard in the world.
गृहाणार्घ्यं मया दत्तं संज्ञया सह भास्कर
Receive the arghya I have given, along with the proper invocation, O Bhaskara.
इति दृष्टं सामवेदे कौथुमे मुनिसत्तम
Thus it is seen in the Sama Veda, in the Kauthuma recension, O best of sages.
धाशब्दोच्चारतः पश्चाद्धावत्येव ससंभ्रमः
After uttering the syllable 'dhā', he runs with haste and excitement.
स भवेन्मातृघाती च वेदातिक्रमणे मुने 4.52.
He becomes a slayer of his mother if he transgresses the Veda, O sage.
ततो वृन्दावनं पुण्यं राधापादाब्जरेणुना राधिका चरणाम्भोजपादरेणूपलब्धये
Then, the holy Vrindavana, with the dust of Radha's lotus feet, is sought for obtaining the dust of Radhika's lotus feet.
इति श्रीब्रह्मवैवर्ते महापुराणे श्रीकृष्णजन्मखण्डे नारायणनारदसंवादे राधामाधवयो रासवर्णनं नाम द्विपञ्चाशत्तमोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the fifty-second chapter, named 'The Description of the Rasa of Radha and Madhava', in the dialogue between Narayana and Narada, in the Sri Krishna Janma Khanda of the Sri Brahmavaivarta Mahapurana.
समतीते पूर्णरासे किं चकार जगत्पतिः
After the full rasa had passed, what did the Lord of the world do?
श्रीनारायण उवाच स्वयं रासेश्वरस्तस्माद्यमुनापुलिनं ययौ
Sri Narayana said: The Lord of the rasa himself then went to the bank of the Yamuna.
तत्र स्नात्वा जलं पीत्वा निर्मलं निर्मले जले
There, he bathed and drank pure water from the pure stream.
ततो जगाम भगवान्भाण्डीरं राधया सह
Then, the Blessed One went to the Bhandira grove together with Radha.
क्रीडां चकार रहसि भाण्डीरे मालतीवने
He played in secret in the Bhāṇḍīra grove, in the Mālatī forest.
कृत्वा क्रीडां च तत्रैव वासन्तीकाननं ययौ
Having played there, he went to the Vāsantī forest.
तत्रैव रमणं कृत्वा ययौ चन्दनकाननम्
There itself, after delighting, he went to the Candanaka forest.
रम्ये चन्दनतल्पे च स्निग्धे चन्दनपल्लवे
On a lovely sandalwood couch, soft with sandalwood leaves,
कृत्वा विहारं तत्रैव ययौ चम्पककाननम्
Having enjoyed himself there, he went to the Campaka forest.
रतिं निर्वर्त्य तत्रैव ययौ पद्मवनं प्रभुः 4.53.
Having made love there, the Lord went to the lotus forest.
सार्धं तत्र पद्ममुख्या शीतेन पद्मवायुना
There, together with the foremost of lotuses, in the cool lotus-scented breeze,
विहाय निद्रां निद्रेशो ददर्श निद्रितां प्रियाम्
The Lord of sleep, abandoning sleep, saw his beloved sleeping.
दृष्ट्वा मुखं च घर्माक्तं शरच्चन्द्रविनिंदितम्
Seeing her face, moist with sweat, rivaling the autumn moon,
संलुप्ताधररागं च संलुप्तगण्डपत्रकम्
Her lip color faded, and the cheek-paint gone,
रत्नकुण्डलयुग्मेनामूल्येन परिशोभितम्
Adorned with a pair of priceless jeweled earrings,
प्रेम्णा स्वसूक्ष्मवस्त्रेण वह्निशुद्धेन माधवः
With love, Mādhava covered her with his own fine garment, purified by fire.
