उवाच ब्रह्मा मधुरं हितं धन्वतरिं मुदा
Brahma spoke sweet and beneficial words to Dhanvantari with joy.
ब्रह्मोवाच रणं ते मनसा सार्द्धं न हि साम्यं च मे मतम्
Brahma said: I do not consider it proper for you to fight together in your minds.
शिवदत्तेन शूलेन दुर्निवार्येण सर्वतः 4.51.
With the trident given by Shiva, which is impossible to withstand in every way.
ध्याने कौथुमशाखोक्तं कृत्वा भक्त्या समाहितः
With devotion and concentration, meditate as taught in the Kauthuma branch.
आस्तिकोक्तेन स्तोत्रेण स्तवनं कर्तुमर्हसि
You should perform praise with the hymn spoken by Astika.
ब्रह्मणो वचनं श्रुत्वा चकारानुमतिं शिवः
Hearing Brahma’s words, Shiva gave his consent.
एषां च वचनं श्रुत्वा स्नात्वा शुचिरलंकृतः
Hearing their words, after bathing, he adorned himself with purity.
धन्वन्तरिरुवाच पूज्या त्वं त्रिषु लोकेषु पुरा कश्यपकन्यके
Dhanvantari said: You are worthy of worship in the three worlds, O daughter of Kashyapa, since ancient times.
त्वया जितं जगत्सर्वं देवि विष्णुस्वरूपया
By you, O goddess, in the form of Vishnu, the entire world has been conquered.
इत्युक्त्या संयतो भूत्वा भक्तिनम्रात्मकंधरः
Having spoken thus, becoming composed, bowing with a heart full of devotion,
चारुचम्पकवर्णाभां सर्वाङ्गसुमनोहराम्
He saw her, whose radiance was like beautiful champaka flowers, enchanting in every limb.
सुचारुकबरीशोभां रत्नाभरणभूषिताम्
Her lovely hair shone, adorned with ornaments of precious gems.
सर्वविद्याप्रदां शान्तां सर्वविद्याविशारदाम् 4.51.
Bestower of all knowledge, peaceful, and accomplished in every branch of learning.
ध्यात्वैवं कुसुमं दत्त्वा नानाद्रव्यसमन्वितम्
Thus meditating, he offered a flower, accompanied by various substances.
स्तोत्रं चकार यत्नाच्च पुलकाञ्चितविग्रहः
With great effort and his body thrilled with joy, he composed a hymn.
धन्वतरिरुवाच नमः कश्यपकन्यायै वरदायै नमो नमः
Dhanvantari said: Salutations to the daughter of Kashyapa, the granter of boons, again and again I bow.
नमः शंकरकन्यायै शंकरायै नमो नमः
Salutations to the daughter of Shankara, to Shankari herself, again and again I bow.
नम आस्तीकजननि जनन्यै जगतां मम
Salutations to the mother of Astika, to the mother of the worlds and of myself.
नमो नागभगिन्यै च योगिन्यै च नमो नमः
Salutations to the sister of the Nagas, and to the Yogini, again and again I bow.
नमस्तपस्यारूपायै फलदायै नमो नमः
Salutations to her who is the form of austerity, the giver of fruits, again and again I bow.
इत्येवमुक्त्वा भक्त्या च प्रणनाम प्रयत्नतः
Having spoken thus with devotion, he bowed down carefully.
जग्मुर्नागाः प्रहृष्टाश्च फणाराजिविराजिताः 4.51.
The Nagas, delighted and adorned with splendid hoods, departed.
विधिना मातरं भक्तिमास्तीकश्च चकार ह
Astika, full of devotion, worshipped his mother according to the prescribed rites.
इदं स्तोत्रं महापुण्यं भक्तियुक्तश्च यः पठेत्
Whoever recites this highly meritorious hymn with devotion—
सर्वेषां दर्पभङ्गश्च कथितश्च श्रुतस्त्वया
The breaking of everyone's pride has been told and you have heard it.
अधुना च समुत्तिष्ठ गच्छ वृन्दावनं वनम्
Now arise and go to the forest of Vrindavana.
श्रीनारायण उवाच उवाच कृष्णं नय मां न शक्ता गंतुमीश्वर
Shri Narayana said: She said to Krishna, 'Lead me, O Lord, for I am unable to go.'
राधिका वचनं श्रुत्वा प्रहस्य मधुसूदनः
Hearing Radhika's words, Madhusudana smiled.
सा मनोयायिनी राधा कृत्वा च रोदनं क्षणम्
That Radha, led by her mind, wept for a moment.
विवेश चन्दनवनं रुदन्ती शोककातरा
Weeping and overcome with grief, she entered the sandalwood forest.
