भक्त्या पाद्यादिभिर्माल्यैर्दिव्यगंधमनोहरैः
With devotion, he offered water for washing the feet and other gifts, along with garlands and enchanting divine fragrances.
यौतुकानि ददौ तस्मै रत्नानि विविधानि च
He gave to him wedding gifts and various kinds of jewels.
गवां लक्षं गजेंद्राणां सहस्राणि च राधिके
O Radhika, he gave one hundred thousand cows and thousands of lordly elephants.
त्रिंशल्लक्षं हयानां च सज्जितानामकातरः
He gave thirty hundred thousand well-equipped horses, without hesitation.
शतं द्विजबटूनां च पार्वतीभ्रातृकल्पकम् 4.44.
He gave a hundred young Brahmins, to serve as brothers for Parvati.
पार्वतीं वस्तुसहितां स्वस्तीत्युच्चार्य शंकरः
Shankara, pronouncing blessings, accepted Parvati together with her possessions.
हिमालयः सुतां दत्त्वा परिहारं चकार तम्
Himalaya, having given his daughter, performed the formal farewell.
हिमालय उवाच सर्वात्मरूप सर्वेश परमानंदविग्रह
Himalaya said: O Lord of all, whose form is the Self of all, embodiment of supreme bliss,
गुणार्णव गुणातीत गुणयुक्त गणेश्वर
Ocean of virtues, transcending qualities, endowed with qualities, Lord of the hosts,
योगाधार योगरूप योगज्ञ योगकारण
Foundation of yoga, embodiment of yoga, knower of yoga, cause of yoga,
प्रलयप्रलयाद्यैकभवप्रलयकारण
Cause of dissolution, origin of dissolution, sole cause of the dissolution of existence,
संहारकाले घोरे च सृष्टिसंहारकारण
At the terrible time of destruction, you are the cause of creation and dissolution.
कालस्वरूप कालेश काले च फलदायक
Embodiment of time, Lord of time, giver of results in time,
शिवस्वरूप शिवद शिवबीज शिवाश्रय
Embodiment of Shiva, giver of auspiciousness, seed of Shiva, refuge of Shiva,
इत्येवं स्तवनं कृत्वा विरराम हिमालयः 4.44.
Thus, having made this hymn, Himalaya ceased.
हिमालयकृतं स्तोत्रं संयतो यः पठेन्नरः
Whoever recites this hymn composed by Himalaya with self-control—
अथ वेदविधानेन संस्थाप्य वह्निमीश्वरः
Then, according to Vedic injunction, the Lord established the sacred fire.
निवृत्ते विधिवद्यज्ञे विप्राय दक्षिणां ददौ
When the prescribed sacrifice was completed, he gave the sacrificial fee to the priest.
अथ प्रदीपमानीय शैलेंद्रनगरस्त्रियः
Then, bringing a lamp, the women of the city of the lord of mountains—
कृत्वा जयध्वनिं प्रीत्या शुभनिर्मञ्छनादिकम्
Out of joy, they sounded the victory cry and performed auspicious rites of purification.
वासगेहं संप्रविश्य ददृशुः कामिनीगणाः
Entering the inner chambers, the groups of loving women beheld him.
चन्दनागुरुकस्तूरीकुंकुमांचितविग्रहम्
His form was adorned with sandalwood, aloe, musk, and saffron.
अपूर्वसूक्ष्मवेषाढ्यं सिंदूरबिंदुभूषितम्
He was clothed in unprecedented, delicate garments, and decorated with vermilion marks.
नवीनयौवनस्थं च मुनीन्द्रचित्तमोहनम्
He was in the bloom of fresh youth, enchanting even the minds of the greatest sages.
अदितिं च शचीं चैव लोपामुद्रामरुंधतीम्
There were Aditi, Shachi, Lopamudra, and Arundhati—
शतरूपां च संज्ञां च सतीस्त्रीणां च षोडश 4.45.
Shatarupa, Sanjna, and sixteen other virtuous women.
या याः स्थितास्तत्र तासां संख्यां कर्तुं च कः क्षमः तमूचुः क्रमशो देव्यो मधुरोक्तिं सुधामिव
Who could possibly count all those who were present there? The goddesses then, one by one, spoke sweet words like nectar.
सरस्वत्युवाच दृष्ट्वा प्रियास्यं चंद्राभं संतापं त्यज कामुक
Sarasvati said: 'Beholding his lovely, moon-like face, O passionate one, abandon your sorrow.'
कालं गमय कालेश सदा संश्लेषपूर्वकम्
'O Lord of Time, spend your time always united with her.'
लक्ष्मीरुवाच तिष्ठ संप्रति का लज्जा प्राणा यांति यया विना
Lakshmi said: 'Stay now—what shame is there? Life departs without her.'
