निरूपितं कामशास्त्रे चकारेशस्ततोऽधिकम्
What is described in the treatise on love, the Lord performed even more.
प्रीत्यर्थमपि कर्तव्यं चकारेशस्ततोऽधिकम् शुशुभे कृष्णदेहश्च यथाऽद्रिर्गैरिकेण च
For the sake of delight, the Lord did even more; and Krishna's body shone like a mountain with its minerals.
एवंभूते पूर्णराससंभूते रासमण्डले
In this way, when the full rasa was manifest in the circle of the dance,
सुवर्णस्यन्दनस्थाश्च कौतुकात्स्वगणावृताः
Those seated in golden chariots, surrounded by their own groups, came out of curiosity.
ऋषयो मुनयश्चैव सिद्धाश्च पितरस्तथा सस्त्रीकाश्च समाजग्मुर्ददृशुश्च मुदाऽन्विताः
Sages, seers, perfected beings, and ancestors, all with their wives, arrived and watched, filled with joy.
दिव्यस्यन्दनमारुह्य शातकौम्भविनिर्मितम्
Ascending a divine chariot made of refined gold,
वह्निशुद्धांशुकेनैव वेष्टितं सुमनोहरम्
Adorned with cloth purified by fire, exceedingly beautiful,
शतचक्रं चित्रयुक्तं मनोयायि मनोहरम्
With a hundred wheels, decorated with designs, moving at will and enchanting,
समाजगाम भगवान्पार्वत्या सह शंकरः 4.28.
The blessed Lord Śaṅkara came together with Pārvatī.
पुरतः कार्तिकेयश्च स्वयं देवो गणेश्वरः
Before them was Kārtikeya, and the god Gaṇeśa himself.
क्षेत्रपालादयः सर्वे तथाऽष्टौ भैरवेश्वराः
All the guardians of the quarters and the eight Bhairava lords likewise.
भारत्या सह ब्रह्मा च शातकौम्भरथस्थितः
Brahmā, together with Sarasvatī, was seated in a golden chariot.
सुवर्णस्यन्दनस्थश्च धर्मः साक्षी च कर्मणाम्
Dharma, the witness of deeds, was also seated in a golden chariot.
पश्यन्ती पूर्णरासं च सकामा वक्रलोचना
The desirous, wide-eyed women gazed upon the complete rasa dance.
शच्या सह महेन्द्रश्च रोहिण्या च कलानिधिः
With Śacī was great Indra, and with Rohiṇī, the moon-god.
समाजगाम कामश्च रतिं कृत्वा च वक्षसि
Kāma also arrived, holding Rati to his chest.
आकाशस्थाश्च ददृशुः सरासं रासमण्डलम्
Those situated in the sky beheld the entire circle of the rāsa dance.
मुहूर्तं च सुराः सर्वे सस्मिताश्च मुदाऽन्विताः
For a moment, all the gods, smiling and filled with joy, watched.
कस्तूरीयुक्तमाल्यानां वृष्टिं चक्रुर्मुनीश्वराः 4.28.
The great sages showered garlands adorned with musk.
स्थले रतिरसं कृत्वा जगाम यमुनाजलम्
After enjoying the pleasure of love on land, he went to the waters of Yamunā.
गोपीभिः सह जग्मुश्च मायाः श्रीकृष्णरूपिकाः
The goddesses, taking the form of Śrī Kṛṣṇa's māyā, departed together with the gopīs.
जलं ददौ राधिकायै सकामो माधवः स्वयम्
Mādhava himself, with desire, gave water to Rādhikā.
वस्त्रं जग्राह तस्याश्च सा च नग्ना बभूव ह
He took her garment, and she became naked.
सिन्दूरपक्षकं लुप्तं वेषं च जलताडनैः
Her vermilion and hair ornament were washed away, and her attire was ruined by the splashing water.
तां च नग्नां समाश्लिष्य निममज्ज जले हरिः
Hari embraced her as she was naked and submerged with her in the water.
तां च नग्नां दर्शयित्वा गोपिकां क्रीडया नताम्
Showing her nakedness, he played with the bowed gopī.
सा वेगेन समुत्थाय बलाज्जग्राह माधवम्
She quickly rose up and forcefully seized Mādhava.
गृहीत्वा पीतवसनं तं चकार दिगम्बरम्
Taking his yellow garment, she made him unclothed.
हरिं पुनः समाकृष्य प्रेषयामास पाथसि 4.28.
She again pulled Hari and sent him into the water.
उत्थाय माधवः शीघ्रं तां गृहीत्वा प्रहस्य च एवं ता मूर्तयः सर्वा गोपीभिः सह कौतुकात्
Mādhava swiftly rose, seized her, and laughed; thus, all those forms, together with the gopīs, delighted in play.
