स्तोत्रेणानेन याः स्तुत्वा समाप्तिदिवसे शिवाम्
Whoever praises Shiva with this hymn on the day of completion—
इह कान्तसुखं भुक्त्वा पतिं प्राप्य परात्परम्
Here, enjoying the happiness of a beloved, she attains a husband supreme among men.
इति श्रीब्रह्मवैवर्ते सीताकृतं पार्वतीस्तोत्रम् देवीं प्रणम्य स्तुत्वा च व्रतं पूर्णं चकार ह
Thus, in the Brahmavaivarta, Sita, having praised the goddess Parvati with a hymn, bowed to the goddess and completed her vow.
गोसहस्रं ब्राह्मणेभ्यः सुवर्णशतकं मुदा
With joy, she gave a thousand cows and a hundred pieces of gold to the Brahmins.
ब्राह्मणानां सहस्रं च भोजयामास सादरम्
She respectfully fed a thousand Brahmins.
एतस्मिन्नन्तरे तत्र दुर्गा दुर्गार्तिनाशिनी
At that moment, there appeared Durga, destroyer of difficulties.
ईषद्धास्यप्रसनास्या योगिनीशतसंयुता
Her face shone with a gentle smile, surrounded by hundreds of yoginīs.
दृष्ट्वा गोपाङ्गना देवीं प्रणेमुश्च मुदाऽन्विताः 4.27.
Seeing the goddess, the wives of the cowherds joyfully bowed down.
गोपिकाभ्यो वरं दत्त्वा ताः संभाष्य च सादरम्
Having granted a boon to the gopīs and spoken to them with respect,
पार्वत्युवाच व्रतं ते लोकशिक्षार्थं मायामानुषरूपिणि
Pārvatī said: Your vow, in the form of a human by illusion, is for the instruction of the world.
गोलोकनाथं गोलोकं श्रीशैलं गिरिजातटम्
The Lord of Goloka, Goloka itself, Śrīśaila, and the slopes of Girijā—
चरितं रतिचोरस्य स्त्रीणां मानसहारकम्
The deeds of the thief of love captivate the minds of women.
श्रीकृष्णार्धाङ्गसंभूता कृष्णतुल्या च तेजसा
Born from the half of Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s body, you are equal to Kṛṣṇa in splendor.
भवती च हरेः प्राणा भवत्याश्च हरिः स्वयम्
You are the very life of Hari, and Hari himself is your life.
षष्टिवर्षसहस्राणि ब्रह्मा तप्त्वा तपः पुरा
Long ago, Brahmā performed austerities for sixty thousand years.
कृष्णाज्ञया च त्वं देवि गोपीरूपं विधाय च
By Kṛṣṇa’s command, O goddess, you assumed the form of a gopī.
सुयज्ञो हि नृपश्रेष्ठो मनुवंशसमुद्भवः
Suyajña, the best of kings, was born in the lineage of Manu.
त्रिःसप्तकृत्वो निर्भूपां चकार पृथिवीं भृगुः 4.27.
Bṛgu made the earth devoid of kings twenty-one times.
शंकरात्प्राप्य त्वन्मन्त्रं सिद्धं कृत्वा च पुष्करे
Having received your mantra from Śaṃkara, and having perfected it at Puṣkara,
बभञ्ज दर्पाद्दन्तं च गणेशस्य महात्मनः
Out of pride, he broke the tusk of the great-souled Gaṇeśa.
मय्युद्धतायां कोपेन भस्मसात्कर्तुमीश्वरः
When I became agitated, out of anger the Lord wished to reduce me to ashes.
कल्पे कल्पे तव पतिः कृष्णो जन्मनि जन्मनि
In every age, Kṛṣṇa is your husband, in every birth.
अहो श्रीदामशापेन भारावतरणेन च
Alas, by the curse of Śrīdāma and for the removal of the earth’s burden,
अयोनिसंभवा त्वं च जन्ममृत्युजरापहा
You are born without a womb, and you remove birth, death, and old age.
त्रिषु मासेष्वतीतेषु मधुमासे मनोहरे
When three months had passed, in the delightful month of Madhu,
सर्वाभिर्गोपिकाभिश्च सार्धं वृन्दावने वने
Together with all the cowherd women, in the forest of Vṛndāvana,
विधात्रा लिखिता क्रीडा कल्पे कल्पे महीतले
The play was ordained by the Creator, in every age, upon the earth.
यथा सौभाग्ययुक्ताऽहं हरस्य श्रीहरिप्रिये 4.27.
Just as I am endowed with fortune, O beloved of Hari, so too—
यथा क्षीरेषु धावल्यं यथा वह्नौ च दाहिका
As whiteness is in milk, as burning is in fire,
देवी वा मानुषी वाऽपि गान्धर्वी राक्षसी तथा
Whether goddess, human, Gandharvī, or even Rākṣasī,
