प्रणमय्य पुनः कृष्णं राधां च कमलोद्भवः पुनश्च वासयामास श्रीकृष्णं कमलोद्भवः
Having bowed again to Kṛṣṇa and Rādhā, the lotus-born one again seated Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
तद्वामपार्श्वे राधां च सस्मितां कृष्णचेतसम्
He placed Rādhā, smiling, at Kṛṣṇa’s left side, filling his heart.
पाठयामास वेदोक्तान्पञ्च मन्त्रांश्च नारद 4.15.
Nārada recited the five mantras prescribed in the Vedas.
कन्यकां च यथा तातो भक्त्या तस्थौ हरेः पुरः
Just as a father does for his daughter, he stood before Hari with devotion.
दुन्दुभिं वादयामासुश्चानकं मुरजादिकम्
They sounded the kettledrum, the ānaka, the muraja, and other instruments.
जगुर्गन्धर्वप्रवरा ननृतुश्चाप्सरोगणाः
The foremost Gandharvas sang, and groups of Apsarās danced.
युवयोश्चरणाम्भोजे भक्तिं मे देहि दक्षिणाम्
Grant me devotion at the lotus feet of you both as my offering.
मदीयचरणाम्भोजे सुदृढा भक्तिरस्तु ते
May you have firm devotion at my own lotus feet.
मया नियोजितं कर्म कुरु वत्स ममाज्ञया
Perform the task I have assigned, dear one, by my command.
प्रणम्य राधां कृष्णं च जगाम स्वालयं मुदा
Bowing to Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa, he joyfully returned to his own abode.
सा ददर्श हरेर्वक्त्रं चच्छाद व्रीडया मुखम्
She saw Hari’s face and, out of bashfulness, covered her own.
प्रणम्य श्रीहरिं भक्त्या जगाम शयनं हरेः
Bowing to Śrī Hari with devotion, she went to Hari’s bedchamber.
ललाटे तिलकं कृत्वा ददौ कृष्णस्य वक्षसि 4.15.
After marking his forehead with tilaka, she placed it upon Kṛṣṇa’s chest.
प्रददौ हरये भक्त्या बुभुजे जगतीपतिः
She offered it to Hari with devotion, and the Lord of the world partook.
ददौ कृष्णाय सा राधा सादरं बुभुजे हरिः
Rādhā respectfully gave it to Kṛṣṇa, and Hari ate.
ताम्बूलं तेन दत्तं च बुभुजे पुरतो हरेः
She gave betel to him, and he ate it before Hari.
चखाद परया भक्त्या पपौ तन्मुखपङ्कजम्
With supreme devotion, she ate and drank from his lotus-like mouth.
जहास न ददौ राधा क्षमेत्युक्तं तया मुदा राधिकायाश्च सर्वांगे प्रददौ माधवः स्वयम्
Rādhā laughed and did not grant forgiveness when he asked; then Mādhava himself joyfully touched every part of Rādhikā’s body.
यः कामो ध्यायते नित्यं यस्यैकचरणाम्बुजम्
That desire which always meditates upon the single lotus foot of whom—
यद्भृत्यभृत्यैर्मदनो जितः सर्वक्षणं मुने
O sage, by whose servants’ servants even Madana is conquered at every moment—
करे धृत्वा च तां कृष्णः स्थापयामास वक्षसि
Taking her by the hand, Kṛṣṇa placed her upon his chest.
बभूव रतियुद्धेन विच्छिन्ना क्षुद्रघण्टिका
In their battle of love, her small girdle was broken.
शृंगारेणैव कबरी सिन्दूरतिलकं मुने 4.15.
By the very act of love, her hair became adorned with a mark of vermilion, O sage.
पुलकाङ्कितसर्वांङ्गी बभूव नवसंगमात्
From their new union, her entire body became covered in goosebumps.
प्रत्यङ्गेनैव प्रत्यङ्गमङ्गेनाङ्गं समाश्लिषत्
With every limb, he embraced each of her limbs with his own.
पुनस्तां च समाश्लिष्य सस्मितां वक्रलोचनाम्
Again, he embraced her, she of the smiling, curved eyes.
कङ्कणानां किङ्किणीनां मञ्जीराणां मनोहरः
The charming sounds of bracelets, anklets, and tinkling ornaments arose.
पुनस्तां च समाकृष्य शय्यायां च निवेश्य च
Again, drawing her close, he laid her upon the bed.
निर्जने कौतुकात्कृष्णः कामशास्त्रविशारदः
In solitude, out of delight, Kṛṣṇa, expert in the arts of love, acted.
न कस्य कस्माद्धानिश्च तौ द्वौ कार्यविशारदौ
No one else, at any time or place, could match those two, so skilled in their arts.
