तं पठित्वा गुरुमुखाद्भवन्त्येव बुधा जनाः
By reciting that in the presence of the guru, people indeed become wise.
वेदो वा पण्डितो वाऽन्यः को वा त्वां स्तोतुमीश्वरः
Whether it is the Veda, a learned scholar, or anyone else—who is capable of praising you, O Lord?
त्वं बुद्धेर्जननी मातः को वा त्वां स्तोतुमीश्वरः 4.15.
You are the mother, the origin of intelligence—who is able to praise you, O Lord?
यददृष्टाश्रुते वस्तु तन्निर्वक्तुं च कः क्षमः
Who is able to describe that which has not been seen or heard?
सरस्वती च वेदाश्च क्षमः कः स्तोतुमीश्वरः
Even Sarasvati and the Vedas—who among them is capable of praising you, O Lord?
ईश्वराणामीश्वरस्य योग्यायोग्ये समा कृपा
The compassion of the Lord of lords is equal toward those who are worthy and unworthy.
जननी जनको यो वा सर्वं क्षमति स्नेहतः
A mother, a father, or whoever it may be—for love's sake, forgives everything.
प्रणम्य चरणाम्भोजे सर्वेषां वन्द्यमीप्सितम्
Having bowed to the lotus feet, which are desired and worthy of reverence by all,
राधामाधवयोः पादे भक्तिर्दास्यं लभेद्ध्रुवम् विलङ्घ्य सर्वलोकांश्च याति गोलोकमुत्तमम्
One who attains devotion and servitude at the feet of Radha and Madhava certainly surpasses all worlds and reaches the supreme Goloka.
श्रीनारायण उवाच
Sri Narayana said:
वरं वृणु विधातस्त्वं यत्ते मनसि वर्तते
Choose a boon, O Creator, whatever is in your mind.
वरं च युवयोः पादपद्मभक्तिं च देहि मे
Grant me the boon of devotion to the lotus feet of both of you.
पुनर्ननाम तां भक्त्या विधाता जगतां पतिः 4.15.
Then, the Lord of the worlds again bowed to her with devotion.
हरिं संस्मृत्य हवनं चकार विधिना विधिः
Remembering Hari, the Creator performed the sacrifice according to the prescribed rite.
ब्रह्मणोक्तेन विधिना चकार हवनं स्वयम्
He himself performed the sacrifice according to the method spoken by Brahma.
कौतुकं कारयामास सप्तधा च प्रदक्षिणाम्
He arranged the auspicious rite and performed seven circumambulations.
प्रणमय्य ततः कृष्णं वासयामास तं विधिः
Then, bowing to Krishna, the Creator seated him.
वेदोक्तसप्तमन्त्रांश्च पाठयामास माधवम्
He recited to Madhava the seven mantras prescribed in the Vedas.
श्रीकृष्णहस्तं राधायाः पृष्ठदेशे प्रजापतिः
Prajāpati placed Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s hand upon Rādhā’s back.
पारिजातप्रसूनानां मालां जानुविलम्बिताम्
He hung a garland of pārijāta flowers down to her knees.
प्रणमय्य पुनः कृष्णं राधां च कमलोद्भवः पुनश्च वासयामास श्रीकृष्णं कमलोद्भवः
Having bowed again to Kṛṣṇa and Rādhā, the lotus-born one again seated Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
तद्वामपार्श्वे राधां च सस्मितां कृष्णचेतसम्
He placed Rādhā, smiling, at Kṛṣṇa’s left side, filling his heart.
पाठयामास वेदोक्तान्पञ्च मन्त्रांश्च नारद 4.15.
Nārada recited the five mantras prescribed in the Vedas.
कन्यकां च यथा तातो भक्त्या तस्थौ हरेः पुरः
Just as a father does for his daughter, he stood before Hari with devotion.
दुन्दुभिं वादयामासुश्चानकं मुरजादिकम्
They sounded the kettledrum, the ānaka, the muraja, and other instruments.
जगुर्गन्धर्वप्रवरा ननृतुश्चाप्सरोगणाः
The foremost Gandharvas sang, and groups of Apsarās danced.
युवयोश्चरणाम्भोजे भक्तिं मे देहि दक्षिणाम्
Grant me devotion at the lotus feet of you both as my offering.
मदीयचरणाम्भोजे सुदृढा भक्तिरस्तु ते
May you have firm devotion at my own lotus feet.
मया नियोजितं कर्म कुरु वत्स ममाज्ञया
Perform the task I have assigned, dear one, by my command.
प्रणम्य राधां कृष्णं च जगाम स्वालयं मुदा
Bowing to Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa, he joyfully returned to his own abode.
