वृष्टिधारामतिस्थूलां कम्पमानांश्च पादपान्
He saw a torrent of very thick rain and trees trembling.
कथं यास्यामि गोवत्सान्विहाय स्वाश्रमं बत
How can I go to my hermitage, leaving behind the calves? Alas!
एवं नन्दे प्रवदति रुरोद श्रीहरिस्तदा
As Nanda spoke thus, Śrī Hari began to weep.
एतस्मिन्नन्तरे राधाऽऽजगाम कृष्ण सन्निधिम्
At that moment, Rādhā came into Kṛṣṇa's presence.
शरत्पार्वणचन्द्राभामुष्टवक्त्रमनोहरा
Her lovely face was like the full autumn moon.
परितस्तारकापक्ष्मविचित्रकज्जलोज्ज्वला 4.15.
All around, she shone with the brilliance of collyrium adorned with the varied luster of star-like eyelashes.
तन्मध्यस्थलशोभार्ह स्थूलमुक्ताफलोज्ज्वला
In the midst, she was resplendent, adorned with large, shining pearls.
ग्रीष्ममध्याह्नमार्तण्डप्रभामुष्टककुण्डला
Her earrings glowed like the midday summer sun.
मुक्तापङ्क्तिप्रभातैकदन्तपङ्क्तिसमुज्ज्वला
Her single row of teeth gleamed like a line of pearls at dawn.
कस्तूरीबिन्दुसंयुक्त सिन्दूरबिन्दुभूषिता
She was adorned with a spot of musk and decorated with a dot of vermilion.
सुचारुवर्तुलाकारकपोलपुलकान्विता
Her cheeks were beautifully rounded and adorned with delightful goosebumps.
सुचारुश्रीफलयुगकठिनस्तनसंगता
Her firm breasts, resembling auspicious fruits, were exquisitely shaped.
सुचारुवर्तुलाकारमुदरं सुमनोहरम्
Her stomach was charming, beautifully rounded, and captivating to behold.
सद्रत्नसाररचितमेखलाजालभूषिता
She was adorned with a girdle crafted from the essence of precious gems.
कठिनश्रोणियुगलं धरणीधरनिन्दितम्
Her firm hips surpassed even the earth in their splendor.
रत्नभूषणसंयुक्तं यावकद्रवसंयुतम् 4.15.
She was decorated with jewel ornaments and colored with turmeric paste.
सद्रत्नसाररचितक्वणन्मञ्जीर रञ्जितम्
Her anklets, made from the essence of precious gems, jingled melodiously.
रत्नाङ्गुलीयनिकरवह्निशुद्धांशुकोज्वला
Her fingers were adorned with rings of jewels, and her garments shone with pure brilliance.
सहस्रदलसंयुक्तक्रीडाकमलमुज्ज्वलम्
Her playful lotus was radiant, joined with a thousand-petaled lotus.
दृष्ट्वा तां निर्जने नन्दो विस्मयं परमं ययौ
Seeing her in solitude, Nanda was filled with utmost wonder.
ननाम तां साश्रुनेत्रो भक्तिनम्रात्मकन्धरः
With tearful eyes and a devoted, bowed neck, he saluted her.
जानामीमं महाविष्णोः परं निर्गुणमच्युतम्
I know this child is the supreme, attribute-less, imperishable form of Mahāviṣṇu.
गृहाण प्राणनाथं च गच्छ भद्रे यथासुखम्
Take your beloved child and go, O blessed one, as you wish.
इत्युक्त्वा प्रददौ तस्यै रुदन्तं बालकं भिया
Having spoken thus, he handed her the crying infant, fearful for its safety.
उवाच नन्दं सा यत्नान्न प्रकाश्यं रहस्यकम्
She told Nanda, 'Do not reveal this secret under any circumstances.'
प्राज्ञस्त्वं गर्गवचनात्सर्वं जानासि कारणम् 4.15.
You are wise; by Garga's words you know the entire reason.
वरं वृणु व्रजेश त्वं यत्ते मनसि वाञ्छितम्
Choose a boon, O lord of Vraja, whatever you desire in your heart.
राधिकावचनं श्रुत्वा तामुवाच व्रजेश्वरः
Hearing Rādhikā's words, the lord of Vraja replied to her.
युवयोः सन्निधौ वासं दास्यसि त्वं सुदुर्लभम्
You will grant us residence in your presence, which is exceedingly rare.
श्रुत्वा नन्दस्य वचनमुवाच परमेश्वरी
Hearing Nanda's words, the Supreme Lady spoke.
