Thereafter, O son of Brahmā, by eating food left by Vaiṣṇavas—
—the story of Kṛṣṇa, including the naming and first feeding of food, was told.
Once, Nanda's wife went to the Yamunā for bathing.
She saw curds, milk, ghee, buttermilk, and delightful fresh butter.
Honey, clarified butter, and auspicious food placed on a cart—
After bathing and returning to her house, the cowherd woman saw a boy.
Seeing this, she asked the children, 'Ah, what a marvelous deed is this?'
Hearing Yaśodā's words, all the boys spoke.
Hearing the words of the boys, Nanda's wife became angry.
She was not able to catch Govinda, who was running away.
After searching, Yaśodā, exhausted and covered in sweat, rested.
Seeing his mother resting, the compassionate Supreme Person—
The goddess, taking him by the hand, brought him to her own house.
Yaśodā, having bound Kṛṣṇa, went towards her own house.
O Nārada, at the mere touch of Śrī Kṛṣṇa—
—a divinely adorned man suddenly appeared there from the tree.
Having bowed to the Lord of the universe, adorned with golden ornaments,
She, seeing the tree fall, was frightened and distressed, O queen of Vraja,
The cowherds and cowherd women dwelling in Gokula came to that house,
At that very old age, a son was indeed born,
Your understanding is lacking, truly it is known, O Nanda, queen of Vraja,
Binding the son for the sake of milking cows, at the harsh root of the tree,
By the falling of the tree, the boy survived by fortune, though he was young,
The Brahmins and bards bestowed auspicious blessings,
Having done so, all the people departed to their own homes,
Nanda said: Or else, you go from the house; what purpose do you serve for me?
A well exceeding a hundred, a lake equal to a hundred wells,
A holy place born of austerity and charity, bestowing happiness in future births,
A friend greater than a son has never been nor will be; Yashoda and Rohini are engaged in household duties,
Narada said: O Lord, by what cause did he attain the state of a tree?
