कृष्णस्यार्द्धांगसंभूता नाथस्य सदृशी सती
She, born from half the body of Kṛṣṇa, is the beloved equal of the Lord.
अयोनिसंभवा देवी मूलप्रकृतिरीश्वरी
The goddess, not born from a womb, is the primal nature, the sovereign Lady.
वायुनिःसरणे काले धृत्वा च शिशुविग्रहम्
At the time of the wind’s exhalation, she assumed the form of a child.
वर्धते सा व्रजे राधा शुक्ले चंद्रकला यथा
Rādhā grows up in Vraja like the bright digit of the moon.
एका मूर्तिर्द्विधाभूता भेदो वेदे निरूपितः
One form became two; this distinction is described in the Veda.
द्वे रूपे तेजसा तुल्ये रूपेण च गुणेन च
These two forms are equal in radiance, in appearance, and in quality.
पुरतो गमनेनैव किंतु सावयसाधिका
Yet, by proceeding ahead, one is endowed with limbs to a greater degree.
रचिता साऽस्य प्राणैश्च तत्प्राणैर्मूर्तिमानयम् 4.13.
She was fashioned with his life-breaths, and by those life-breaths, he became embodied.
स्वीकारं सार्थकं कर्तुं गोकुले यत्कृतं पुरा
What was done long ago in Gokula was to fulfill the acceptance meaningfully.
प्रतिज्ञापालनार्थाय भयेशस्य भयं कुतः
For the sake of upholding the promise—what fear can there be for the Lord of fear?
नारायणस्तामुवाच ब्रह्माणं नाभिपंकजे
Nārāyaṇa spoke to Brahmā, who was in the lotus of the navel.
पुरा कैलासशिखरे मामुवाच महेश्वरः
Long ago, on the summit of Kailāsa, Maheśvara spoke to me.
सुरासुरमुनींद्राणां वांछितां मुक्तिदां पराम्
The supreme liberation, desired by the gods, demons, and sages, is granted.
आकारो गर्भवासं च मृत्युं च रोगमुत्सृजेत्
It removes embodiment, dwelling in the womb, death, and disease.
श्रवणस्मरणोक्तिभ्यः प्रणश्यति न संशयः
By hearing, remembering, or reciting it, all is destroyed—there is no doubt.
सर्वेप्सितं सदानंदं सर्वसिद्धौघमीश्वरम्
It bestows all desired things, eternal bliss, and the abundance of all perfections, the Lord.
ददाति सार्ष्टिसारूप्यं तत्त्वज्ञानं हरेः समम्
It grants equality in opulence and form, true knowledge, and sameness with Hari.
योगशक्तिं योगमतिं सर्वकालं हरिस्मृतिम् 4.13.
It gives yogic power, yogic intellect, and constant remembrance of Hari at all times.
रोगशोकमृत्युयमा वेपंते नात्र संशयः
Disease, sorrow, death, and Yama tremble—there is no doubt about this.
तदुक्तं च यथाज्ञानं साकल्यं वक्तुमक्षमः
And as it was spoken, according to knowledge, I am unable to declare its entirety.
पुरोहितो जगद्धाता कृत्वाऽग्निं साक्षिणं मुदा
The priest, the creator of the world, joyfully made fire the witness.
हिंसनं धेनुकस्यैव कानने तालभोजनम्
The slaying of Dhenuka was the eating of palm-fruits in the forest.
मोक्षणं द्विजपत्नीनां मिष्टान्नपानभोजनम्
Liberation of the wives of the twice-born, and the offering of delicious food and drink.
गोपीनां वस्त्रहरणं व्रतसंपादनं तथा
The taking of the garments of the gopīs, and the accomplishment of their vows as well.
चेतसां हरणं तासामयं वश्याः करिष्यति
He will captivate their minds, making them subject to his will.
पूर्णचन्द्रोदये नक्तं वसंते रासमंडले
At the rising of the full moon, at night, in spring, within the circle of the rāsa dance.
ताभिः सह जलक्रीडां करिष्यति कुतूहलात्
Out of curiosity, he will engage in water play with them.
गोपालैर्गोपिकाभिश्च भविता राधया सह 4.13.
He will be together with the cowherds and the gopīs, along with Rādhā.
पुनः प्रबोधनं तासां दानमाध्यात्मिकस्य च
Again, he will awaken them, and give them spiritual gifts.
रथमारोहणं कृत्वा मथुरागमनं पुनः
He will mount a chariot and proceed again to Mathurā.
