अतो विपश्चितः सर्वे दास्यं वांछंति नो वरम्
Therefore, all the wise desire servitude to me, not any other boon.
जन्ममृत्युजराव्याधि भयं च यमयातना 4.6.
Birth, death, old age, disease, fear, and the torments of Yama—
भक्ता न लिप्ताः पापेषु पुण्येषु सर्वक र्मिणः
Devotees are not tainted by sins or merits, though they perform all actions.
अहं प्राणश्च भक्तानां भक्ताः प्राणा ममापि च
I am the very life of my devotees, and my devotees are my very life as well.
चक्रं सुदर्शनं नाम षोडशारं सुतीक्ष्णकम्
The discus named Sudarshana has sixteen spokes and is exceedingly sharp.
भक्तान्तिके तु तच्चक्रं दत्त्वा रक्षार्थमीप्सितम्
For the protection of my devotees, I grant that discus as desired, keeping it near them.
न मे स्वास्थ्यं च वैकुंठे गोलोके राधिकांतिके
I have no peace in Vaikuṇṭha, nor in Goloka, nor even near Rādhikā.
प्राणेभ्यः प्रेयसी राधा स्थितोरसि दिवानिशम्
Rādhā, dearer to me than life itself, dwells upon my chest day and night.
भक्तदत्तं च यद्द्रव्यं भक्त्या ऽश्नामि सुरेश्वराः
O lords of the gods, whatever substance is given by devotees, I eat it with devotion.
स्त्रीपुत्रस्वजनांस्त्यक्त्वा ध्यायंते मामहर्निशम्
Abandoning wife, children, and relatives, they meditate on me day and night.
दुष्टा यदा मे भक्तानां ब्राह्मणानां गवामपि
Whenever the wicked harm my devotees, the Brahmins, or even the cows,
तथाऽचिरं ते नश्यंति यथा वह्नौ तृणानि च 4.6.
then they are quickly destroyed, just as grass is consumed by fire.
यास्यामि पृथिवीं देवा यात यूयं स्वमालयम्
I shall depart from the earth; O gods, you all return to your own abodes.
इत्युक्त्वा जगतां नाथो गोपाना हूय गोपिकाः
Having spoken thus, the Lord of the worlds summoned the cowherds and the cowherd women.
गोपा गोप्यश्च शृणुत यात नंदव्रजं परम्
O cowherds and cowherd women, listen: go to the supreme Nanda's Vraja.
वृषभानुप्रिया साध्वी नंदगोपकलावती
There is the virtuous and beloved of Vṛṣabhānu, the illustrious daughter of Nanda the cowherd.
पितॄणां मानसी कन्या धन्या मान्या च योषिताम्
She is the mind-born daughter of the ancestors, blessed and honored among women.
तस्या गृहे जन्म लभ शीघ्रं नंदव्रजं व्रज
Take birth in her house quickly and go to Nanda's Vraja.
त्वं मे प्राणाधिका राधे तव प्राणाधिकोऽप्यहम्
O Rādhā, you are dearer to me than life itself, and I am even dearer to you than your own life.
श्रुत्वैवं राधिका तत्र रुरोद प्रेमविह्वला
Hearing this, Rādhikā there wept, overwhelmed with love.
जनुर्लभत गोपाश्च गोप्यश्च पृथिवीतले
The cowherds and cowherd women obtained birth on the earth.
एतस्मिन्नंतरे सर्वे ददृशू रथमुत्तमम् 4.6.
Meanwhile, all of them beheld a most excellent chariot.
श्वेतचामरलक्षेण शोभितं दर्पणायुतैः
Adorned with white yak-tail fans and countless mirrors,
सद्रत्नकलशानां च सहस्रेण सुशोभितम्
and beautifully decorated with a thousand jewel-filled pitchers,
पार्षदप्रवरैयुक्तं शात कुंभमयं शुभम्
yoked with the foremost attendants, splendid and made of pure gold.
तत्रस्थं पुरुषं श्यामं सुन्दरं कमनीयकम्
Within it was a dark-complexioned man, handsome and charming.
किरीटिनं कुण्डलिनं वनमालाविभूषितम्
He was crowned, adorned with earrings, and decorated with a garland of forest flowers.
चतुर्भुजं स्मेरवक्त्रं भक्तानुग्रहकातरम्
He had four arms, a smiling face, and was eager to bestow grace upon his devotees.
देवीं तद्वामतो रम्यां शुक्लवर्णां मनोहराम्
The goddess, beautiful and charming, appeared with a radiant white complexion.
शरत्पार्वणचंद्रास्यां शरत्पंकजलोचनाम्
Her face was like the full autumn moon, and her eyes resembled autumn lotuses.
