प्रतप्तस्वर्णवर्णाभामाच्छाद्य चारुविग्रहाम्
Her beautiful form covered with a luster like refined gold.
भूषितां भूषणैः सर्वैः सौंदर्येण विभूषितैः तुष्टुवुस्ते सुराः सर्वे पूर्णसर्वमनोरथाः।।4.6.
Adorned with all ornaments, embellished with beauty; all the gods, their every wish fulfilled, praised her.
तव चरणसरोजे मन्मनश्चंचरीको भ्रमतु सततमीश प्रेमभक्त्या सरोजे
O Lord, let my mind, like a bee, ever wander in love and devotion at your lotus feet.
विषयमतिविनिंद्यं सृष्टिसंहाररूपमपनय तव भक्तिं देहि पादारविंदे
Renouncing all sense objects, the forms of creation and dissolution, grant me devotion at your lotus feet.
तव निजजनसार्द्धं संगमो मे मदीश भवतु विषयबंधच्छेदने तीक्ष्णखङ्गः। तव चरणसरोजे स्थानदानैकहेतुर्जनुषि जनुषि भक्तिं देहि पादारविन्दे
O my Lord, may I have union with Your own devotees; let it be a sharp sword for severing the bonds of worldly attachment. Grant me devotion, birth after birth, at Your lotus feet, which alone are the cause of granting a place in Your lotus feet.
इत्येवं स्तवनं कृत्वा परिपूर्णैकसानसाः
Having thus made this praise, they were filled with complete satisfaction.
सुराणां स्तवनं श्रुत्वा तानु वाच कृपानिधिः
Hearing the praise of the gods, the ocean of compassion spoke to them.
शिवाश्रयाणां कुशलं प्रष्टुं युक्तं न सांप्रतम्
It is not appropriate at this time to inquire about the welfare of those who are sheltered by Shiva.
निश्चिंता भवतात्रैव का चिंता वो मयि स्थिते
Here, you need not worry; as long as I am present, what concern can you have?
युष्माकं यमभिप्रायं सर्वं जानामि निश्चितम्
I certainly know all your intentions and desires.
महत्क्षुद्रं च यत्कर्म सर्वं कालकृतं सुराः
Whatever is great or small among actions, O gods, all is accomplished by time.
परिपक्वफलाः काले काले पक्वफलान्विताः 4.6.
At the proper time, ripe fruits come; at each time, there are fruits that have ripened.
स्वकर्मफलनिष्ठं च सर्वकालेऽप्युपस्थितम्
The result of one's own actions is always present at all times.
काले कार्यवशात्सर्वे भवंत्येवाप्रियाः प्रियाः
Due to the force of circumstances, all things become pleasing or unpleasing at the proper time.
स्वकर्मफलपाकेन सर्वे कालवशं गताः
By the ripening of the results of one's own actions, all are subject to the power of time.
पृथिव्यां तत्क्षणेनैव सप्तमन्वतरं गतम्
At that very moment on earth, the seventh Manu era had passed.
कालचक्रं भ्रमत्येव मदीयं च दिवानिशम्
The wheel of time constantly revolves, day and night, and so does mine.
कीर्तिः पृथ्व्यां पुण्यमद्य कथामात्रावशेषितम्
Today, fame and virtue on earth remain only as stories.
बभूवुर्बहवो भूमौ महाबल पराक्रमाः
Many have arisen on earth, possessing great strength and valor.
उपस्थितोऽपि कालोऽयं वातो वाति निरंतरम्
Even though time has arrived, the wind blows ceaselessly.
व्याधयः संति देहेषु मृत्युश्चरति जंतुषु
Diseases exist in bodies, and death moves among creatures.
ब्राह्मण्यनिष्ठा विप्राश्च तपोनिष्ठास्तपोधनाः 4.6.
The Brahmins are steadfast in Brahman, and the ascetics are devoted to austerity and possess the wealth of austerity.
ते सर्वे मद्भयाद्भीताः स्वकर्मधर्मतत्पराः
All of them, out of fear of me, are terrified and devoted to their own prescribed duties and righteous actions.
देवाः कालस्य कालोऽहं विधाता धातुरेव च
O gods, I am the Time of time itself, the Creator, and indeed the origin of creation.
ममाज्ञयाऽयं संहर्ता नाम्रा तेन हरः स्मृतः
By my command, he is the destroyer of this world; therefore, he is called Hara.
ब्रह्मादितृणपर्यन्तं सर्वेषामहमीश्वरः
From Brahmā down to a blade of grass, I am the Lord of all.
अहं यान्संहरिष्यामि कस्तेषामपि रक्षिता
Whomever I wish to destroy, who among them can be their protector?
सर्वेषामपि संहर्ता स्रष्टा पाताऽहमेव च
I alone am the destroyer, creator, and sustainer of all.
भक्ता ममानुगा नित्यं मत्पादार्चनतत्पराः
My devotees are always devoted to me, constantly engaged in the worship of my feet.
सर्वे नश्यंति ब्रह्माण्डे प्रभवंति पुनःपुनः
All things in the universe perish and are born again, again and again.
