चंदनागुरुकस्तूरीकुंकुमद्रवसंयुतम्
Anointed with sandal, aguru, musk, and saffron essence.
पर्णदूर्वाक्षतैर्लाजैर्निर्मंछनविभूषितैः
Decorated with leaves, sacred grass, rice grains, and parched paddy for auspiciousness.
पारिजातप्रसूनानां मालायुक्तैर्विराजितम्
Adorned with garlands made of pārijāta blossoms.
सर्वानिर्वचनीयं च यद्द्रव्यमनिरूपितम्
And filled with all manner of indescribable and unidentifiable substances.
पारिजातप्रसूनानां मालाजालैः सुशोभितम्
Beautifully decorated with clusters of garlands of pārijāta flowers.
कोटिशो रत्नकुंभाश्च रत्नपात्राणि नारद
There were millions of jewel-encrusted pitchers and vessels, O Nārada.
नानाप्रकारवाद्यानां कलनादैर्निनादितम्
Resounding with the melodies of various kinds of musical instruments.
मोहितं वाद्यशब्दैश्च मृदंगानां च नारद ।।4.5.
Enchanted by the sounds of instruments and the music of mṛdaṅgas, O Nārada.
राधासखीनां गोपीनां वृंदैर्वृंदैर्विराजितम्
Radiant with groups upon groups of Rādhā's companions and gopīs.
एवमभ्यंतरं दृष्ट्वा बभूवुर्विस्मिताः सुराः।। । शुश्रुवुर्मधुरं गीतं ददृशुर्नृत्यमुत्तमम्
Seeing the interior thus, the gods were amazed; they heard sweet singing and saw excellent dancing.
तत्र तस्थुः सुराः सर्वे ध्यानैकतानमानसाः
There all the gods stood, their minds absorbed in single-pointed meditation.
धनुःशतप्रमाणं च परितो वर्तुलाकृतिम्
Measuring a hundred bows in circumference, and circular in shape.
चित्रपुत्तलिकापुष्पचित्रकाननभूषितम्
Adorned with painted dolls, flowers, and wondrous forest decorations.
तेजोमुषं च सर्वेषां महाश्रमविवर्जितम्
Stealing the radiance of all, free from any great exertion.
दृष्ट्वा तेजःस्वरूपं च ते देवा ध्यानतत्पराः
Beholding that form of radiance, the gods became absorbed in meditation.
परमानन्दसंयोगादश्रुपूर्णविलोचनाः
From union with supreme bliss, their eyes filled with tears.
नत्वा तेजःस्वरूपं च तमीशं त्रिदशेश्वराः 4.5.
Having bowed to that radiant form, the lords of the gods worshipped the Lord.
ध्यात्वैवं जगतां धाता बभूव संपुटांजलिः
Thus meditating, the creator of the worlds stood with hands joined in reverence.
भक्त्युद्रेकात्प्रतुष्टाव ध्यानैकतानमानसः
Overwhelmed by devotion, his mind fixed in single-pointed meditation, he began to praise.
कारणं सर्वभूतानां तेजोरूपं नमाम्यहम्
I bow to You, the cause of all beings, the embodiment of radiance.
मंगलं मंगलानां च मंगलं मंगलप्रदम्
The most auspicious among all that is auspicious, the source of all auspiciousness.
स्थितं सर्वत्र निर्लिप्तमात्मरूपं परात्परम्
Established everywhere, untouched, of the nature of the Self, supreme beyond the supreme.
सगुणं निर्गुणं ब्रह्म ज्योतीरूपं सनातनम्
Brahman with qualities and without qualities, of the form of light, eternal.
तमनिर्वचनीयं च व्यक्तमव्यक्तमेककम्
That which cannot be described, manifest and unmanifest, one without a second.
गुणत्रयविभागाय रूपत्रयधरं परम्
The supreme, bearing the threefold forms for the division of the three qualities.
सर्वाधारं सर्वरूपं सर्वबीजमबीजकम्
The support of all, of all forms, the seed of all, yet without seed.
लक्ष्यं षङ्गुणरूपं च वर्णनीयं विचक्षणैः 4.5.
The object to be known, of sixfold qualities, to be described by the wise.
अशरीरं विग्रहवदिंद्रियं यदतींद्रियम्
Bodiless, yet appearing as if with form and senses, that which is beyond the senses.
गमनार्हमपादं यदचक्षुः सर्वदर्शनम्
Worthy of movement, yet without feet; without eyes, yet seeing all.
वेदे निरूपितं वस्तु सन्तः शक्ताश्च वर्णितुम्
The reality described in the Vedas, which the virtuous and the powerful are able to express.
