Whether one is fallen or noble, wretched or a lord, the laws of dharma apply to all. Those who constantly criticize their husband are destined, by the workings of karma, to be enjoyed by others. Yet, for the virtuous woman who honors her husband, a wondrous reward awaits: together with her husband, she delights in Goloka for ten million aeons. By divine command, such a virtuous woman is taken as wife for the sake of prosperity. One who worships a thousand holy places with devotion, offering the five sacred gifts, enjoys happiness in Goloka for a crore of aeons together with the Lord. There, in Goloka, there is no departure; one remains equal to the divine, sharing in their bliss. Even the simple act of making a liṅga and worshipping it once grants residence in heaven for ten thousand aeons. The wise, liberated, and virtuous attain this through worship of the Śiva liṅga; even a sinner who dies there finds their way to the realm of Śiva. Those who repeatedly utter “Mahādeva, Mahādeva, Mahādeva,” or pronounce the name “Śiva” at the moment of death, are blessed. The auspicious speech of Śiva is itself auspicious and bestows liberation. For those immersed in sorrow from separation from wealth and relatives, the name of Śiva acts as a destroyer of sin and grants liberation even to children and servants. Whoever’s speech continually utters the name “Śiva” finds their path purified. Having spoken thus to the wielder of the trident, Krishna bestowed the wish-fulfilling mantra. The Blessed Lord declared: In time, you will worship Śiva, the giver and abode of auspiciousness. Appearing among the radiance of all the gods, O beautiful-faced one, in a special aeon, the Satya Yuga when truth prevails, you will abandon your body due to the reproach of the sacrifice’s lord. Then you will enjoy a thousand divine years together with Śambhu, at the time when all worlds are worshipped in grand ceremonies. In villages and cities, the village deity is worshipped. By Krishna’s command, with various tantras composed by Shiva, there will be great ones who are your attendants alone. Those who worship you, Mother, in the holy land of Bharata, are blessed. Having spoken thus, Krishna gave her the eleven-syllabled mantra. With proper method, he performed meditation for her, out of compassion for devotees. He bestowed upon her the power suitable for creation, granting all perfections and wish-fulfillment. The Lord of the universe then gave the thirteen-syllabled mantra, bestowing it for righteousness and granting knowledge of accomplishments. In this way, he gave supreme mantras and blessings to Kubera and the others. The Blessed Lord then said: “Create, O greatly fortunate one, the supreme and various creation, O Vidhi.” Having spoken thus to Brahma, Krishna gave him a beautiful garland. Sauti continued: In the beginning, he created the earth from the fat of Madhu and Kaitabha. He formed eight principal and delightful mountains: Sumeru, Kailasa, Malaya, and Himalaya among them. He created the seven oceans and rivers of various kinds: oceans of salt, sugarcane juice, wine, clarified butter, curds, milk, and water. And upon that lotus-shaped earth, he fashioned the seven continents, completing the wondrous creation.
