The Lord spoke of wondrous powers—omniscience, the ability to hear from afar, and even entering another’s body. He described immortality and the highest perfections, recalling that these eighteen extraordinary attainments are known as the siddhis. Alongside these, He mentioned fame, glory, the virtue of truthful speech, righteousness, and the practice of fasting. He spoke of worshipping the gods, beholding their forms, and circumambulating the seven continents. The Lord revealed that the states of Brahma, Rudra, and Vishnu, even the supreme state itself, were among these attainments. Addressing the Lord of all, He affirmed that all these, and whatever else had been spoken, were encompassed within His words. Having heard the words of Śarva, Krishna then turned to that great guru of yogins and addressed him with reverence: “Serve me, O Lord of all, best among those who know everything. You are the boon among ascetics, the foremost among the perfected and yogins. Attain immortality, become the great conqueror of death. “By your divine play, O child, you witness the rise and fall of countless Brahmās. Gradually, adorned with glory and splendor, become my equal. There is none dearer to me than you; indeed, you are dearer even than my own self. All beings are cooked on the thread of time as long as the sun and moon endure. Therefore, you must uphold my words, for they are never in vain. You will uphold both my command and your own word. Great happiness and delight will be yours, without doubt. “In time, you will become a householder, an ascetic, and a yogin, acting according to your own will. Know this: a wicked woman brings suffering to her husband, not a devoted wife. Out of affection, a devoted wife cares for her husband as she would a worthy son. Whether he has fallen or not, whether wretched or a lord, it is certain that those who constantly criticize their husbands are destined for enjoyment by others. But in Goloka, together with her husband, a devoted wife delights for ten million aeons. “By my command, you will take that virtuous woman as your wife for the sake of prosperity. Having worshipped a thousand holy places with devotion and the five offerings, one enjoys happiness in Goloka for a crore of aeons together with me. There is no departure from Goloka for such a soul; he remains equal to us. “Moreover, having made a liṅga and worshipped it even once, one dwells in heaven for ten thousand aeons. A wise, liberated, and virtuous person attains this through worship of the Śiva liṅga; even a sinner who dies there goes to the realm of Śiva. Those who utter ‘Mahādeva, Mahādeva, Mahādeva’ repeatedly, or who pronounce the word ‘Śiva’ at the moment of death, are blessed. The auspicious speech of Śiva is itself auspicious and bestows liberation. “Immersed in the ocean of sorrow due to separation from wealth and relatives, the name of Śiva destroys sin and grants liberation not only to oneself but also to children and servants. Whoever’s speech continually utters the name ‘Śiva’—such a one is truly blessed.” Having spoken thus to the wielder of the trident, Krishna imparted the wish-fulfilling mantra. The Blessed Lord declared, “In time, you will worship Śiva, the giver and abode of all auspiciousness. Appearing amidst the radiance of all the gods, O beautiful-faced one, you will shine forth. Then, in a special aeon, in the Satya Yuga when truth prevails, you shall come again. There, abandoning the body due to the reproach of the lord of sacrifice, your journey will continue.
